Made it to episode 51 tonight and saw the new tile in the kitchen/gally, and love that blue color as it really looks great! I watch 4-5 episodes a night trying to catch up as I started at the beginning.
I took my parents to England and booked a narrowboat for their 50th Aniv. One thing I remember the most was the birds singing in the morning. If I hear birds like that it always takes me back to the trip. Thanks!
I’ve been pootlin’ along watching all your videos in order. I love all of them, especially this one!!! you’ve made some great updates to your boat, the galley is gorgeous 💕. Ok, I’m on to Fradley Junction with you next.
Hello in Sept 2020 - love the redecorating, but sad to see the patterned tile go. I'm a quilter and loved all those patterns. The new look is bright and clean and fresh and those cream walls are a huge improvement. Love the re-purposing of the shelf you rescued from the canal.
You two must be the poster couple for narrowboat life! No wonder your brother is following in your footsteps. Wow! What a transformation your little home is getting? Loving the recycled furniture look and your decorating skills, what a great story about fishing for cupboards 😂 You have created a truly beautiful space, I love it. Rich... Fran is wise with the meds, but you carry on and suffer eh? 😂😂 Kind regards Josie & Mart xxx
Thank you for your comments Josie and Mart. as you know we are very much in favour of no waste and that includes old furniture. It has the advantage of making our boat truly unique and very cheap to furnish. I dont think I'll ever talk Rich into trying my witches brews but he is better now. Thanks for watching Fran x
Hi Fran & Rich, thanks for the shout out ❤ Great job with the decorating. Definitely time for some cruising up North, beautiful countryside awaits 💙🐶🦢🦆🍺
Your galley looks great! Here in Colorado Springs Colorado in Sept 2021 I'm redoing my Galley style kitchen all the way to new sub-flooring. Big water leak!
You’ll love the Caldon canal. It’s a canal with two personalities industrial as you leave Stoke then it’s like opening a door to solitude and beauty ...I hope you can get through the tunnel at Froghall as the basin is a lovely place to spend a few days. Gauge at Consall lock. We have a cottage just above the valley so if we are about when you get up and you need a bit a transport let me know.
Thanks Nev. We are really looking forward to the Caldon, it sounds just right for us and we're really hoping we can get through the tunnel. Maybe we'll bump into you x

Love the tiles, we completely retiled our kitchen in our house with the same tiles just before we sold it last year, its now starting to look like a different boat👍
Another great video, happy easter, Thanks for taking us on your journey love the peace and tranquility, looking forward to the next , Take care , ATB Paul
Loving the new colours and looking forward to the next adventures. See Minimal List is sharing your flu, what is it with you men and the flu ? Hope you are fully recovered now and roll on Spring :)
we guys it good to see your taking your time going along the canal, thats what its all about. no rushing around just to say I've been on this stretch of canal. the boat is looking fab as well very homely but looks like you can only have two visitors at a time ..... as there is only four glasses of wine and four tumblers glasses in the racks on the wall. but looking good. well done to you both. think you have the right pace to go at.hope to see you soon.x
Your videos make me happy! Thanks! Love the galley! Fran, you mentioned Rich's flu and you didn't get it. Same as the virus this year. Would love to hear more about what you are doing to help prevent that. You mentioned elderberry. What else?
Elderberry Rob is just a syrup made from elderberries, ginger and cinnamon. Elderberries have been proven to be antiviral. Im convinced it helps as I rarely get I'll and taken this at the first sign of a cold or flu. You can find the recipe on line. If you have trouble get back to me and I'll find one for you.
I use the soapnuts on land and love them but find they work better if you soak them in warm water for a bit beforehand or room temp for a few days. I just keep a jar by my washer with some in it and use the liquid for one wash and the nuts for another. That's with a big American sized washing machine. BTW there is some scientific studies on elderberry extract proving it helps lungs function well and heal faster. Helps with all sorts of lung issues because of that and can be preventative as well.
Enjoyed yet another Vlog from you guys, not one i have not enjoyed yet .Doing a great job of the interior especially the galey. Cany wait to see you do the outside. So is your big bruv thinking of following in your footsteps to live aboard or looking to get one for holidays?

Thanks for another interesting vlog. Hope you’re having a lovely Easter. I’ve decided to do the Ashby, question is when? I’m going to do a shorter cruise next week, as in two weeks I’m going to Little Venice for the IWA Cavalcade (not by boat). Take care x
