Knockmealdown 👣 Waterford's County High Point
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 лип 2024
- Knockmealdown Mountain is the highest point in Co. Waterford.
In the mountain range of the same name, the Knockmealdowns are a great place for hiking, and somewhere we've been many times on hiking trails.
The route was walked was around 8.5km, and took us 3hrs, which included lots of sitting around and taking pictures. The steepest part of the climb via the way we went was up the Sugarloaf - crossing from there over to Knockmealdown itself was the easier half of the hike.

Lovely to see a bit of Waterford and Tipperary from my living room in London thank you.
Carl & Ellie, definitely a fantastic walking area and 340m is a good starting point😊 That was a cracking day☀ for the walk, the views and the County High Point👍 It has usually been windy and wet when I have been there so I would probably go with the intermediate in that weather and beginner in great weather that you had😊👍
Great video, very helpful, thanks so much for taking the time to share !
Delighted you like it, you’ve welcome! ☺️
Just back from climbing Knockmealdown. Tough peak but worth it for the spectacular views. It was our 13th county top so we're halfway there now.
Great to see the vee, hav’nt been up there in awhile…
Sugarloaf in Dublin !!
There are quite a few Sugarloafs out there - I'd hazard a guess that it's one of the top three most common names for mountains!
Love your video, thanks for saying how many kilometres it was how long did it take you
Harder than I thought but we did it in a thunderstorm which was probably not the best idea. Great fun even if we could barely see where we were going
The weather recently has been chaotic! Was out in some thunderstorms myself - glad you enjoyed it nonetheless 😄

@@ToughSoles yes it was still great fun
I wonder if those could be famine walls? They seem old enough and in a suitably pointless place.
The one up sugarloaf would be the boundary wall between tipp and Waterford..
