If GTA V will have same physics as BeamNG Drive then: 1) There will be much kess aggression during police chases from both sides: criminals and police; 2) Stunt jump will become WAY MORE RISKY, than they are already; 3) No more need to SHOOT a gas tank pixel to be in a "leaking fuel" state; 4) Much less burnouts for sure (as well as RPM limiting the engine on a Neutral+Handbrake), because the consequences will be more dangerous than just tires popped, such as engine components overheating as well as brakes overheating. 5) Probably fire traps from Arena War will cause engine to actually overheat. At the same logic we could just find an ocean/lake/pool shore and carefully put our engine in water to forcibly cool it doen when the radiator will be damaged and won't be in working condition (without flooding the intakes).
6) cars would actually be automatic/DCT or manual, and have dynamic shift points based on throttle input and engine load instead of the current mess we have in GTA V
I know a dude on reddit is slowly importing the gta map to beamng. So far he's gotten a couple buildings imported and some roads nearby the central of the town with the skyscrapers. I haven't checked in a while (around a month) and he hasn't posted anything about it yet. It'll take a long time to create for sure, but it looked pretty promising with a download he gave me.
That I’d love to see. I’d love even more to see Liberty City from HD Universe into BeamNG, can you imagine the Grand Marshal and Lansdale Taxis doing their job?
Gta 5 traffic are 2 or 3 times higher than beamng (maybe). So with that much traffic your cpu gonna struggle to simulate beamng physics on gta 5 (unless youre using server cpu like amd threadripper)
There is a fix to that and it already exists in game currently. Have your car be able to take more hits anytime you’re behind the wheel but allow NPC cars have more realistic physics when you’re not in them. How we have this already is with gun battles. PC can be killed with one shot. However, it almost always takes a number of shots to bring you down. I think that is the best of both worlds
BeamNG suspension/handling physics but completely rigid chassis and components (sorta like Assetto?), then GRID(2008) destruction with a difficulty toggle to make it mostly visual-only destruction or not. Oh, and probably about 2x the grip as real-life tires with a broader range on the transition between full grip and full slide. THAT is perfect "arcade" physics.
GTA V with physics modsis pretty satisfying. It sucks that the damage can only ever be what it is. Even if it just had curb damage and bottoming out I'd be happy. The playstyle changes and it's a LOT of fun when you use a physics mod and a surface grip level mod together. Makes driving more of a central focus of the game, and forces you to get good at it.
An official GTA 6 game with BeamNG driving physics being paired with 2-star police chases or any gang war where the enemies will intentionally shoot guns at and crash into you to stop you will make the game nigh unplayable. Remember that GTA is not a car driving simulator, but a roleplaying game where you play as a criminal that hijacks cars, shoots people, commits drive-by, and reenacts Hollywood-like high-speed chase scenes. If every car breaks down with the slightest touch for the sake of 'realism', you will ensure that people will never play your game because it can never be fun unless you're a driving guru. Yes, GTA 4 had good driving physics, but it's not just about the vehicle realism, it's also about the city designs and layouts where you have to carefully navigate narrow roads while being fast. The cars were less arcade-like floaty than GTA V, but they weren't terribly realistic either. Putting BeanNG physics even in a game like that will turn an already challenging game into an endless frustration.
I use one of the gta v car physics mods, I don't remember which one it is, but it feels amazing and has deformation. It makes you actually have to be good and practice. I also have the manual transmission mod which adds so much in terms of control.
Really good video, i love how compact it is. I the September 2022 GTAVI leaks, we saw a car crashing and deforming more realisticaly than in GTAV. it kind "twisted" at the front, so it is not just dents and scratches, its actual deformation. The best i could compare it with is a game called "Wreckfest". GTAVI will most likely not be as extreme with the deformation but how the car deformed looked quite similar.
Rockstar could always just, not make the cabin deformable, and make the rest of the vehicle deformable. They could also keep the extra toughness of the vehicles in GTA 5, while adding the deformation and driving physics of BeamNG. They couldn't possibly reach the realism of Beam without making GTA 6 very laggy, since Beam is a simulator, but they could try to get as close to it as possible. They did it with GTA 4, a game launched in 2004. The GTA 4 physics were awesome in every way
This would be incredible, but you can only imagine getting into a horrific car accident, and with the soft cars in BeamNG, the scenery of the player in the accident would be grisly.
2:44 That means it would probably make for a good mod. That way, people can choose whether they want that or not. The first-time player might not care for that, but it makes for a genuine challenge for a better player since the stakes during a chase are raised.
They should balance it tbh, Just make the cabin holding the occupants non-destructable except for some dents, Make the drivetrain solid so you can still somewhat drive even after a bad crash, And give the rear/front end of the car soft body physics but 3× stronger than in Beamng so it'll still be as playable but also a little more realistic.
GTA5 did have decent vehicle damage on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. Thanks to reworking the game from the ground up and adding in first person, things had to be dialled down. Also would like to point out the lack of gravity effect in the game. Cars can easily flop around and do not accelerate at a rate believable to represent the acceleration due to gravity when let's say, driving off a building.

GTA 5 takes more of an arcade style to driving. The fact that the cars handle easily, and damage less means the game can focus more on weapons and other destruction. It would be funny if GTA 6 had an Advanced Mode which allowed your car to be damaged more easily.
Theres also the fact that most people wouldent get more then a couple cars with good framerates and even the best pcs wouldent be able to fill a busy 4 lane highway. Gta6 will liekly have a more realistic damage model similar to wreck fest but will still be arcady and one crash won't disable your car.
It would be cool if it had such physics, maybe not exactly 1:1 to beamng but enough to make it count when you collide at high speeds, making high speed chases less forgiving and having it take skill to be a getaway driver or else you'd just always crash, total your car and have to resort to a shootout and grand theft auto to retry escaping with a civ car ;D
BNG Physics in GTA would make a total different game. I don't think a worse game, it just would play different and in my opinion it would be interesting.
this could be working only if they allow flexible mod system like in minecraft. because first - they don't make a realistic damage system because most of people wouldn't see it playable and like it, and second - such thing take a big part of the game resources and calculations
GTA's damage physics need work regardless. I swear, every new car they add is done by a different part of the dev team. Some can be bent into literal toasters while others don't even deform. Hopefully they fix that in GTA 6.
This sounds difficult to do, but why not make a specific part of the car destructible so you get awesome physics while still being able to see from the cabin?
I enjoyed the hypotheticals and pretty visuals. I hope GTA VI has a more realistic physics model than GTA V. I miss being able to power slide cars without having to pay Hao $200 000 first.
I would love for GTA to take a similar route but a little less extreme. It would be super fun to be racing through traffic trying to get away from someone and then you have the serious consequence of crashing. Plus if you have a serious crash and survive it then your forced to exit your car and start a gunfight to defend yourself as you attempt to get a new one. Its GTA (Grand Theft Auto) I want to have a real reason to ditch my supercar and steal a normal car. Right now the GTA damage models is just an annoying inconvenience but if the damage model was better I think it would add consequences and therefore more fun.
Just an idea but what if you could change the deformation settings in gta 6, like say your doing a heist online and they have a easy, medium, and hard setting and hard is like just straight up realism versus easy which could just be more like gta 5 and when ur not doing a heist you can just have a setting to change if you want heavy mid or light car deformation physics, would make more since
WHich GTA V are you guys playing, mine has way more car damage, PS4 version. Even your wheels can bend out when you crash or hit a curb hard enough causing the car to veer to one side and hard to drive straight. FYI, im not in USA.
GTA 4 had similar crash and driving physics to BeamNG, the reason why GTA 5 cars are tanks is because ppl complained that GTA 4s cars were too hard to drive.
GTA IV ragdoll physics should be come back in gta 6 in a better version with better driving physics as V and more detailed damage as IV. I miss so much things in GTA V
Gta 5 doesn't have that good of car physics like beam ng cause deformation just because of a high speed crash would piss people off cause 30% of the game is high speed chase
Let's say beamng is 100 on the scale while gta v is around a 10 on the scale. What people that are asking want is the deformation of beam with the rigidity of gta, so basically, 50 - 60% of beamngs physics
are you listening to yourself? if you think that GTA would be worst with those physics, i believe you’re wrong for many reasons, the main one, every time you destroy a getaway vehicle, you can always steal another one and make the chase more challenging and excited.
Gta v :arcade physics Beamng:rl It would be a crime if soft body physics were included in gta v game engine gta v is completely perfect with these physics I love the game because of the arcade physics it's funnier and more enjoyable

To be honest, I want to see this in GTA 6. Plus, it would make car chases more interesting & fun imo.
And driving fast will be too risky
Gta 5 story : more realistic
Gta Online : Arcade driving
beamng drive and gta have to partner up call it gta6-beamng drive partner edtion like gta6 normal edtion then beamng edtion just crash physics
GTA 4 had similar crash and driving physics to BeamNG, the reason why GTA 5 cars are tanks is because ppl complained that GTA 4s cars were too hard to drive.
would be perfect imo. BeamNG need GTA AI traffic and GTA need beamNG handling physic and crash physic.
GTA IV ragdoll physics should be come back in gta 6 in a better version with better driving physics as V and more detailed damage as IV. I miss so much things in GTA V
Bro the first time I played GTA V I spun the car out because I was too used to GTA IV’s physics
if gta had handling physics like beam all of the casual players that don’t care about cars would hate it
Gta 5 doesn't have that good of car physics like beam ng cause deformation just because of a high speed crash would piss people off cause 30% of the game is high speed chase
They should have used damage physics closer to what was in GTA 4 imo.
that would make gta a hell of a lot more fun
Let's say beamng is 100 on the scale while gta v is around a 10 on the scale. What people that are asking want is the deformation of beam with the rigidity of gta, so basically, 50 - 60% of beamngs physics
That could possibly work
The owner of fivem should see if they can buy a license for the engine bmg uses tbh
Gta 4 physics were perfect when it came to combat and driving
I mean ones is a sim and the other is an arcade style. They wouldn’t mix.
What’s the background music name?
They won’t have real crash physics because the car companies don’t want there cars to be crashed and so on
I will always say gta 4 had better car damage like I remember if you hit the car hard enough the car would not even drive
Why not make character duck. Or die character physics already there rockstar has the budget
Everyone who tought we gonna see gta 5 with beamng physics put your hands up :(
It shouldn't be as realistic as beamNg but it should be more realistic than GTA 5.
So it's basically GTA 4
"Oo O O O O H M y P C"
It will change the game rules for sure like it will make more since to steal traffic cars again instead of just calling mor mutual,
are you listening to yourself? if you think that GTA would be worst with those physics, i believe you’re wrong for many reasons, the main one, every time you destroy a getaway vehicle, you can always steal another one and make the chase more challenging and excited.
Old gta 5 cars has deformation but new ones don't
Download a los santos map for beamng tho like ik its not the same but its probably the closest ur gonna get
I actually did that using mids of native trainer and menyoo mod menu combination
Gta v :arcade physics
Beamng:rl
It would be a crime if soft body physics were included in gta v game engine gta v is completely perfect with these physics I love the game because of the arcade physics it's funnier and more enjoyable
