Loved this! Only question left unanswered was how does working with Chad & Val with the coach hat on maintain its boundaries when the player/mate relationship is already so well established. Like...can you really be a director with your mates without risking that relationship when hard truths are required?
Jimmy is going to make a great coach he might need an assistant to play bad cop to his good cop but his thinking about the game is simple but effective, like all the great coaches...
How the English see French in their competition, is how Aussies see Kiwis in their competition. They love having the Warriors there but they would never want them to win it.
Shows you how ignorant Jamma is about France while Maloney just got stuck in and appreciated the system and lifestyle. This over individualist thinking you see in UK, US etc ain’t it.
It's interesting that Jimmy can't make sense of what seemed like a pretty easy fitness and conditioning setup at the Sharks. I've spoken to a number of former players who've essentially said the same thing, "I think about all of the effort we put in during pre-season and between games and whilst I realize it got me incredibly fit looking back I wonder how much of that was really necessary? You've got coaches killing guys to squeeze an extra 0.1% of stamina out of the tank. But there's a cost to that. Players only have so many miles on the clock - what's the point of wasting most of them on the training paddock where there's nothing at stake? Because it's pre-season training which causes players to retire - rarely the game. Guys just don't want to put themselves through that again. I reckon I could have been just as well conditioned by training smarter instead of sprinting up a damned hill at the beach twenty times or running stupid drills which wear the body out just as much as playing".
Jimmy has been smoking 3 packs a day up in Townsville stressing if his car is gonna be stolen during the night 😂😂
Underrated player I think.
Jimmy is a winner. Everywhere he went started winning. Interesting and likeable bloke. Great interview.
Rumor has it Jimmy still enjoys a BBQ alone. 😆
😆
Champion bloke. Played amazing, took alot of clubs very far, and never let footy control his life. Always had fun.
NSW Great James Maloney. One of the best ever to play footy.
great guest ❤

I'd say the most important playmaker the Warriors ever had outside Stacey Jones.

No baloney its James Maloney! Thanks for 2011 bro, almost
Only reason Cronulla won 2016 🦈
Jimmy has been gargling with gravel
I don't remember his voice being that raspy
He's on the path to the smooth tones of Lockyer.

Jammer might have met his match for gibbering
Dubai after the Vegas contract

Knowing he is up nth Queensland. With every other Warriors ex Australian player. May have a bit to do with how they are playing. Warriors of old
Ask Jimmy if he realizes he's now got serious competition for being the best prop to come out of Liverpool. 😉

It's all gone to sheet at the cowboys since the pest turned up.
