This was talked about in briefing today. I personally don't like to sit stationary in my unit. That female deputy is a bad-ass though.
If I sit stationary anywhere, it's in a hiding hole people don't know about. I'm not about to sit in some parking lot on night shift. that being said, I'm not saying that as a jab at the officers they were working security. Not bashing them at all.

This is so sad! I live in Tulsa, OK and we had also had a double shooting of police officers. Sgt Craig Johnson lost his life, but lives on because he donated his organs. I look at this as his last way to serve and protect! The other officer in the shooting has survived and is working hard in rehab to get back to life. We have to back these officers!!! Please be safe out there!! 💙💙💙

Both are in stable condition according to the reports. She treated her partner while both were bleeding profusely and radioed for help. She deserves an award for her heroism once they're discharged.

It’s never the Derrick Chauvin who get attacked like this, it’s usually the good ones sadly.
Chauvin was following procedure. He simply had the misfortune of subduing someone who was in the middle of an overdose.

I lived in SoCal (Gardena which was close to where LA County Sheriffs patrolled) for 30 years. Unlike most municipal departments (especially those like Torrance PD) who basically looked for stupid moving violations, broken tail lights/headlights, window tint, modified mufflers, ride height, speeding, no signal lane changing etc etc, LA County Sheriffs didn't care about any of that. They didn't bother with you unless you did something really bad. They pretty-much only care about drugs, guns, robberies, muggings, physical assaults and things of that nature. One time I was speeding (like 40 over) and I passed a LA County Sheriff as he was about to turn the corner onto the avenue I was speeding along. I slowed down, he came up next to me at about 30, I rolled my window down and it was a hispanic guy. He yelled, "slow the fuck down dumbass!" "yes sir!!" I said. He smiled, nodded his head and sped off.

If people think it's ok ambush a cop then most likely they also believe they can do whatever they want and that could involve you, filling your gas tank at 2 pm minding you're own business, sitting in your living room, or sleeping at night.
The riots have shown crowds now rioting in neighborhoods and residential area's not just shopping centers.
In the academy right now, our DIs discussed this incident told us that we better be mentally prepared to enter police field enter in this time because they said it is the worst time to be entering this field. But I’m still very driven to go through with this profession

Quick recovery for them, but i mean look at the times we are living in. Everybody is pro cop and all lives matter, but are afraid to speak up about "all" issues. Hate it happened "again!" And I'm not against cops fyi. I just see the real of the world and the issues that aren't being spoken up against. My opinion though.

I'm Animal Control and work with my Police agency closely. For us, our vests are optional but as of late I have been wearing it. Even though I'm not a Police Officer, I am associated with my PD and am apart of the family. You never know when someone will see my truck or badge and just have a hate for Police and try to hurt me. We only have a taser, OC Spray and a baton to back me up BUT I do have a family I can call on the radio to save me. Support our Police. Crazy times and world we live in. Stay safe.
