- On June 30th & July 1st of 1997 I visited the BNSF Chillicothe Subdivision in Illinois. Stops were made at Ancona, Toluca & Chillicothe. Santa Fe power was still the norm at this time with just a few locomotives sporting BN or BNSF paint. Power on other trains included Southern Pacific, Union Pacific, DW&P, LMX & Electro Motive Leasing.
I was born in 2001, but man, the 90s seemed pretty cool, and BNSF Atsf heritage units seemed more common back then. Wish they could bring them back
Great stuff here! The Santa Fe spirit was still alive and well at this time
I same the Atsf 2Nd first cargo train
Long live the Santa Fe.
I know you put this out coupla years ago, however, good job filming and editing.
For me the’90s were the best RRoading years. Better dispatching and more freedom to use your better judgment. If any of us had that.
Thanks for putting this out.
Nice thunderclap at the beginning
What a spectacular video, very good!
858 rolling strong baby💯 I was just watching “There Goes A Train”
great shot Brian miss those days
at 20:43 to 21:14, you can hear the sound of a siren sounding in "wail tone", while a freight train was passing through in chillicothe, illinois
Was it like a test?
@@unionpacificfan9456 sky doesn't initially show signs of impending doom, so I guess just a test. :(

july 1st 1997 was a tuesday. i would have to assume that he was filming at 10am because that would have been a civil defense test. (1st tuesday of every month)
@@josephlalock8378 very werid
at the beginning of the clip it was raining when the first train of the video was filmed in ancona illinois which was why a thunderclap was heard after it started
I miss these consists! And back before all of the current “Precision Scheduled Bulls***”
super framing and panning throughout +
Wish BNSF would paint a Warbonnet Unit, Yellowbonnet Unit and 2 Green BN units, a normal green one and one with the white face.
5:10 those dash8/9s were screaming, sheesh
3T22 siren at 20:44

Why Did The Sirens Go Off?

in 1988 Fred Rogers was Only 6 decades old!
Impossible. He died in 2003 when he was 74 years old. He really would’ve been 59 years old or something.

It’s 1997.
Although PT 2 of B&F Begins by Popular Demand & Sesame Street Would b There 2 fill in!
What’s that got to do with the video?

Hey Brian… we need a short of that opening scene, plz. 🫶🏼🤯
A favorite of mine along the Chilli sub!
