Fantastic video Perna, your most phallic yet! I do think there is a chance the Falcons play hard ball in return to Kirk. 65mil dead cap hit VS 40 Mil backup QB. Sure he wouldn’t want to backup but make him put his nice guy reputation at stake by sitting out, or waive the no trade clause for the first team to need him (possibly due to injury in early season). I don’t see how Atlanta loses in that scenario as they’d still have a chance to get out of paying the majority of the contract while only being on the hook for 15mil more after the 35mil deadcap cost in 2026 if Kirk refuses to waive the claus/no offers. Doesn’t help Kirk’s leverage that he doesn’t have a year to sit out either. All that being said I don’t have faith in my falcons to do that. Again, fantastic video Perna, I really enjoyed this one!
Kirk doesn't call the plays. Look at the play calls at the beginning of the season as opposed to the last six weeks or so. Interesting. If this turns out bad they'll be looking for another coach in a couple of years.
The Vikings didn't get rid of him though. They wanted him back, but Atlanta gave him a contract that he couldn't refuse. It's insane how Kirk had an amazing October, then completely fell off a cliff. Coming off an Achilles injury the previous year at his age, I'm not surprised. I think the Falcons were so shook from the Ridder-Heinicke experience that they signed Kirk and drafted Penix, just in case of another starter fall-off.
So he didn’t win an Oscar/Super Bowl? My man still secured the bag for all eternity and made people tune in/sit down in their seats. It’s entertainment at the end of the day and yeah, I liked that.
I have said from the day of the draft that this was the best move. If you are sitting at number 8 and a franchise QB falls to your lap you draft him. Period. Penix was the second best QB in the draft behind Daniels and that is not a slight against Williams who is an amazing talent with a super high ceiling, but that's just how good Penix was in college. And nothing against Kirk, but with one playoff win under his belt you don't pin your entire franchise on him. Not saying he's not a really good QB, but let's not act like he's got 3 rings in his jewelry box.
I'm confused why does Atlanta need to release or trade Kirk (especially if the have to pay the majority of his contract like the Broncos with Russ)? If they guaranteed 90m with a no trade, let him be the backup. Who cares if he doesn't like it, you think the Falcons like paying him all that money?
He’s a toxic personality. At this point it’s just a grift and he could give two sh*ts about the Falcons. Give the team to Penix, lock Cousins out of the building and move forward. Develop a plan to overcome the blunder of ever having associated with him or anyone in his sphere. Hopefully for the fans they get lucky an Penix is good. Most likely he’ll fail because of bad management, coaching & focus.
Man them falcons love having them some left handed qbs it just never looks right at all having a left handed qb just super weird having your right tackle be the blind side protector

All the talk about the inbreeding with cousins is hilarious. LMAO
Minnesota pulled a reverse Hercshel!!
Ummm no. The Vikings and KOC wanted him back, but Atlanta offered him too much money. The Vikings aren't that smart.
Top starting spots for Cousins: 1)TENN 2)NYG 3) LV Top backup spots for Cousins 1)SF 2)IND 3)BUF
6:04 wow Matt Schaub another ATL Falcon. Maybe it's a Falcon thing? 😮😮😮
can you talk about the upcoming QB draft class
This upcoming qb draft class is bad but I guess thats better than the qb free agent class not much either way
I think Kirk is definitely injured. He's throwing to the feet of open receivers.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I just got a Kohl's ad at the end of your video
Peyton stopped taking that HGH that's why he was so bad his final season.
I do like that jacket, Brandon. Nice
Hi Perna!!
I’d pull a Russell Wilson with Cousins in Cleveland. He would absolutely be an upgrade over every QB on our roster
Now I think Atlanta saw Russ in Denver and said maybe we should get Penix just in case the same thing happens.
09:22 under inflated(deflate gate). Low pressure when it cools down. He got away w one there
So he didn’t win an Oscar/Super Bowl? My man still secured the bag for all eternity and made people tune in/sit down in their seats. It’s entertainment at the end of the day and yeah, I liked that.
The Giants should take a chance on him.
You'll always be remembered, Curt.
11:05 I think the Falcons were "blindsided" by Penix still being available figuring the Giants would pick him (or Bo Nix) to replace Daniel Jones.
Those Giants are paying the price.
How soon before Cousins becomes the starting Browns QB?
People seriously need to understand that Kirk is a play action QB and this team NEVER RUNS PLAY ACTIOIN!!!
Just a note, air expands with heat, not with cold
You really missed a Koc and Penix joke there lol
I have said from the day of the draft that this was the best move. If you are sitting at number 8 and a franchise QB falls to your lap you draft him. Period. Penix was the second best QB in the draft behind Daniels and that is not a slight against Williams who is an amazing talent with a super high ceiling, but that's just how good Penix was in college.
And nothing against Kirk, but with one playoff win under his belt you don't pin your entire franchise on him. Not saying he's not a really good QB, but let's not act like he's got 3 rings in his jewelry box.
The Falcons messed up signing Kirk Cousins and not Kirko Chainz
The Penix has been UNLEASHED
Guaranteed that Pittsburgh signs him. The QB competition memes would be epic...
"The Falcons giving Cousins full release " sounds like a sentence you hear in Kentucky
I wonder how hard his feelings to the Commanders are. Cause the Giants will be looking for a QB
Nah trade white dak and black cousins 😂
Man them falcons love having them some left handed qbs it just never looks right at all having a left handed qb just super weird having your right tackle be the blind side protector
Kirk can come in and back up Goff for "the rest of the season" it'd be a homecoming as well
Falcons should hold onto him. Someone will need him after the draft or an injury and eat a chunk of that cap hit..
Can't wait for the future NIX comparisons... Peen vs Bone
The Netflix show really highlighted that Cousins is not insane enough to win in the NFL postseason. His agent is too good at getting him $$ for his team's own good too.
