I tried combining fields 24, 25, 29 and 30 in Bjornholm, very tedious considering how perfectionist I am with it lol, only 24 and 29 are in line so making it a all perfect rectangle was quite the struggle. But now it's making me loads of barley (from only one field) so it's definitely worth it! I'll probably try those tiles too, love the content you post!
+Ryan Brink Yeah, I ended up grassing in some of that upper right field in bjornholm, to make it easier for workers. I did exactly what you did with those fields though.
oh fumble sticks, I had a feeling it wouldn't hold up, lol. Thanks so much for taking the time to help me! I would have hated to purchase the pc version and then realize it wouldn't play well. I hope I didn't inconvenience you too much.
+Arthur Chapman well I appreciate it. look forward to your videos, catching up on your old ones but it always gets me in the mood to play. keep up the good work my friend. awesome channel.
great job as usual bud. I've been doing it for awhile and never thought someone else may want to know how to do it. Great idea and perfectly done as usual. As usual ; )
Geesh, I've been doing this a long time. Never occurred to me that hey, some people may not understand how to do it at all. Brilliant idea bud. As usual perfectly done. As usual : )
+Dennis Mann - haha - you would be surprised at how many people ask. I got the idea from watching a real tulip farm harvest. They had the field all divided up and thought it was really cool.
lol, wow.. that's how you got the idea? I one day just planted grass. Up one way, down the next. Stopped. Then planted say wheat. Same way. Up one pass, down the next. All of course done by a worker. Wallah, my nice, evenly divided fields ;)
Thank you Arthur! I have the following : HP Pavilion H8-1234 with Windows 10 Home Edition 64 bit operating system AMD FX 6120 six core Processor (3.50GHz) 10.0 GB Ram[9.77GB usable]
Thanks for the entire tutorial play list helped me loads, earned my sub. Whats the chances of a 'recommended mods' video? There are plenty of mods out there and its hard to know the good from the bad and down right ugly! Cheers!
+Cougar99 I agree, but, (big butt) I am scared to do that as there are tons of great mods out there and I feel bad saying "well these are the best". What I may do instead is to make a video showing my favorite mods. I do get requests from time to time for mod spotlights - you will see me go through some maps for an upcoming series I am making. Its a good idea :) - thank you for confirming it for me.
Yea everyone has their own opinion so whats good for you might be poor for someone else, but it'd be nice to know what mods you use everytime you start a new game. What mods do you feel that you can't play without?
Amazing video once again!! I really love this game but i have the Playstation 3 version, uhhg, but at least I get the play the game. I want to get the PC version because there are more vehicles and equipment. :) One Question: I got the feeling this was the Playstation 4 version. Is it or not? Thanks
+Nathan Stang In real life, farmer sometimes will do this to leave a place for the sprayer truck to travel as it sprays the crops. Usually this is for flower crops like tulips, roses, and Poppies. I have seen them do this with other crops like potatoes too. The reason why I made this tutorial is simpler though. I have a partitioned field on my test farm, where I make all my reviews and tutorials. People always ask how I "did that to my fields", so this way they can see for themselves.
Arthur Chapman Some fields are kinda like that at my relatives (who's a dairy Farmer) farm. I don't know if theyre just like that or if there's a reason. However, it does look cool with corn in them!
To create a field, it's easier to plow in revers. Or put the plow on the front of a tractor. I find it much easier that way to plow a straight line. It's easier to correct than when you pull the plow. Ok, IRL it's impossible to plow like that ;-)
If you wanted to count it out, and skip the cultivator, you could plant potatoes, as they give you well defined ridges to count off of. Also you didn't mention that if you re-seed grass back over a road, the road will come back BUT you will have grass through it, so it won't look as pristine as it did before you started. Moral of the story is be careful, save often and if you mess up badly just restart your save.
+TheJadeStorm87 The only downside is that the potatoes are EXPENSIVE to plant unless you already have them - then again, you could always just run the planter at the end of the field and make short runs and count it that way.
Great as always, but today I am bummed out. I ordered the gold edition from Amazon. The box arrived this morning. I went to load it in -- no joy --- took a while to realize that even though my order confirmation clearly says PC version, they sent the PS3 version. So now I am sitting here with my brand new wheel, pedals, and control panel, my head is buzzing with plans for several new farms, and I have to wait for Amazon to get their act together --- grrrrrr!!
I'm posting this before watching the video, but I know how he did it!He split a big field in smaller chunks by planting grass between them,If you look on the map, there is still one big field, instead of smaller pieces
+qwertypresser I would think so, but I have never done it. I wonder if the cars would just run over your field, because the road remains under all that stuff :)
SIMON Hawkins I think you have to go into the giants editor and pick different traffic course. Not sure how to do that though, but I have heard people talking about how they did it.
+Riley Nicholson I am not sure - I did it almost a year ago and I don't remember exactly how I got it there, other than that I used a trailer to measure it off. I just don't remember which one.
Arthur, if I post my PC specs would you be able to tell me if I can run farm Simulator? I really want to play the Cold borough Park Farm and Chellington extended maps. PS4 is so limited.
+Bushido Soul The downside is even with a REALLY good computer, CBPF is going to have frame rate issues. Its not because the computer can't handle it, its bad programming. That said, my older core i5 (3.5ghz) and AMD R9 380 don't give me frame issues much. Post away and I will try to figure out if its fast enough.
Its just the stock Westbridge map - I get this question a lot though because I cut up the field - here is how I did it. - ua-cam.com/video/krfk2sYk5AY/v-deo.html
+Robert Boudreaux Absolutely. This game is all about equipment and any mod that adds 5 more machines for 2 bucks a piece is a good deal - The fastracs are unique among tractors because of there 45mph top speeds, and the skid steer is fun.
+Arthur Chapman I suppose they do, and I do as well, so I guess a better way to phrase my statement would have been that hired workers always overlap their passes farther than I would like, and they drive straight but they're not as efficient as I would be if I could drive as straight as them. LOL Sometimes if I'm bored I'll hire them and dismiss them at the end of the row, realign them, then rehire them. Hahahaha! Great video btw.
I found that taking insane amount of time on the edges like you did are a waste of time and are stressful. Simply plow the heck out of it then patch it with grass when you are done.
+louis porcellini I dunno, but when I did it in my other tutorials everyone was asking how to do it. I suppose if you are using the "classics" DLC its nicer to have small more manageable fields. Or maybe like real life you would leave a grass strips for the fertilizer to traverse - I see that alot where gators are used to fertilize.
+Bushido Soul Ah, that makes a difference. The 6 core systems are on the lower end of processors, but they do ok. I would say that this PC with its current specs will have difficulty playing the Farm sim with anything but mid to low settings.
+S Murphy On real farms they often leave space in crops for fertilizer trucks to run down during growth, Usually this is more related to flower type crops. Also, if you only have one field and want to grow several different crops on it, its a good way to separate them. Personally I only did it on the test farm where I try out DLC equipment, but everyone always asks how to do it.
Um, I am not lying. You need to make sure you have "create fields" selected from you commands menu. The reason your not plowing the grass is because you have it set to "limit to fields". and its spelled "Liar" and "Lying".
I tried combining fields 24, 25, 29 and 30 in Bjornholm, very tedious considering how perfectionist I am with it lol, only 24 and 29 are in line so making it a all perfect rectangle was quite the struggle. Great Content.
Ive spent the last 6 hours watching your videos. Im on PS4 but i would have never learned anything without your channel.
So glad to be of service and welcome!
Im actually debating to buy FS17 or wait for a new one to be announced.
19 will be coming out at the end of 18 (November most likely), so if you can stand waiting, then that is the way to go.
Thank you man. I will tune in then also haha. Have a great day.
@@deez_bulletz fs 19 comes out November 20 2018

+Bushido Soul Not at all :)
I've done this with a plow but this makes much more sense. awesome stuff as always my friend
+Todd Moore Glad to be of service :)
+Arthur Chapman almost 6,000 subscribers and you still reply to every comment. favorite channel period.
Todd Moore It takes me almost an hour every day lol :) - but I love it. It has become a nice coffee break for me :)

great job as usual bud. I've been doing it for awhile and never thought someone else may want to know how to do it. Great idea and perfectly done as usual. As usual ; )

+Ryan Knight Glad to be of service Ryan!
Thank you sir, fields look nice 👍
I find using the GPS MOD helps me know EXACTLY how many passes per field. And drive straight as an arrow
Nicely done, very informative.
+steve learman Thank you sir!
more instructional vids they are so helpful
+john B Thank you John. As I get ideas for them I definitely jump right in.
Thank you Arthur! I have the following :

Who is Jarod? Where do I find said video about measuring fields?

Its a great combo - Also all those skinny fields along the top work great.

+david garcilazo Hi David! This is the PC version. Hope that helps :)
Same I want it to no mods:(
FSGAMER35
Yeah, That is one of the downsides of consoles. most don't allow mods.
For what practical reasons do you do this to your field? The sectioned ones I mean. It's a very interesting operation.
+Nathan Stang In real life, farmer sometimes will do this to leave a place for the sprayer truck to travel as it sprays the crops. Usually this is for flower crops like tulips, roses, and Poppies. I have seen them do this with other crops like potatoes too. The reason why I made this tutorial is simpler though. yeah, IRL it's a good way to break you plow and strip your transmission.
i love farming i have fs 15 in ps3 and pc! and urs wids is cool!

+TheJadeStorm87 The only downside is that the potatoes are EXPENSIVE to plant unless you already have them - then again, you could always just run the planter at the end of the field and make short runs and count it that way.
That is really all you need. Then you could plant the rest in potatoes, harvest and make back a lot of money.
TheJadeStorm87
exactly.
Great idea. Perfectly done as usual my friend! : )
Pretty damn good government work Arthur! lol
+Bushido Soul Haha - and it even got done same day lol.
would you recommend doing your splitting technique on the first field that you get in Westbridge?
Not necessarily - I usually just rotate crops, but sometimes its fun to partion especially if you are gonna run a fertilizer.
+Arthur Chapman OK but I think iam going to yolo it and see what happens
Let me know how it goes :)
+Arthur Chapman it's going well so far I have enough room for need to do one hit wheat one thing of barley two things of canola and a thing of corn
And I also just bought field 17

Nice tutorial man!
+Leonard Asmarandei Thank you Leonard!
so if you have Xbox Live or PS4 would you still be able to cut the fields like how you did in your video or is that for just PC only
You definitely should be able to.
OK thank you for your time just one more thing can you make two fields in the one big field also on Xbox Live or PS4 by cutting them
David Barraza It's part of the game. Why wouldn't you be able to?
What if you want to join a field together on the other side of a road can you plow the road away so you can join it
Thx this realky helped iam doing feild nine
Glad to hear it :)
is there a way to block the road because i joined field 10 and 11 and i have cars driving through it all the time is there a way to stop that
Nice. Thank You.
I'm posting this before watching the video, but I know how he did it!He split a big field in smaller chunks by planting grass between them,If you look on the map, there is still one big field, instead of smaller pieces
Yup - you would be surprised how many people asked how to do it... That is why I made this video, but its not rocket science.
Just out of curiosity, can you plow under the paved roads? It would be funny to troll all those cars.
+qwertypresser I would think so, but I have never done it. I wonder if the cars would just run over your field, because the road remains under all that stuff :)
ive done that and cars just act as iff the road still there :( anyone know how to redirect them?
SIMON Hawkins
I think you have to go into the giants editor and pick different traffic course. Not sure how to do that though, but I have heard people talking about how they did it.
What are your specifications for the main field (field 15) Are they the same as the demonstration ?
+Riley Nicholson I am not sure - I did it almost a year ago and I don't remember exactly how I got it there, other than that I used a trailer to measure it off. I just don't remember which one.
Arthur Chapman haha. that's ok, ill just do what the video sais. thanks.
Riley Nicholson You are welcome :)
+Arthur Chapman do cars still drive over it in single player?
Where'd you get your JCB Tractors?
They are from the JCB DLC for Farm sim
Arthur, if I post my PC specs would you be able to tell me if I can run farm Simulator? I really want to play the Cold borough Park Farm and Chellington extended maps. PS4 is so limited.

+Robert Boudreaux Hey, are you a PC user? or do you play on another platform?
+Arthur Chapman it's different than using it on pc
+Arthur Chapman but I still love the the I get it for my little boy but he does like it
It's a lot easier to plant a few rows of wheat or something the plant one row of grass and repeat its so much easier
That could work too. Thank you Gavin.

Hired workers always overlap their passes. They drive straight but they're not efficient.
+Motovader72 Don't they kind of overlap in real life? or is that something a good "seeder" would avoid?
+Arthur Chapman
I suppose they do, and I do as well, so I guess a better way to phrase my statement would have been that hired workers always overlap their passes farther than I would like, and they drive straight but they're not as efficient as I would be if I could drive as straight as them. I found that taking insane amount of time on the edges like you did are a waste of time and are stressful. Simply plow the heck out of it then patch it with grass when you are done.
haha - more like real life for sure.
But why split the field anyway
