    I love this video. Penguins are so comical. Chasing their parents for "more food, more food" that was so funny. And I never knew that they mated like that! I thought it would be the same as other birds. But that was very different Lol.

      tiger lily Dude, have you seen the Gentoo? Supposedly, they are the least temperamental, most mild-mannered species of penguin, but those chicks are crazy aggressive...chasing the parents around like they haven’t eaten since the days of egg living...ha-ha.
      Those Adelie penguin chicks are crazy, too. “Come on, mom & dad, regurgitate up some partially digested fermented fish stew that’s already residing in your stomach...I’m HUNGRY!” (Both chick’s then chase parents around the colony like a game of ‘Tag.’

    • @ghosttrees5362
      @ghosttrees5362 3 роки тому

      Interesting theory, but I sense disaster. There’s a reason why they live on opposite poles of the world. It would mean absolute mayhem as penguins would be hunted by the bears constantly since they’re slow on land and would have to live closer to the water. And who knows, probably depleting their numbers even further. Also, Weddell Seals laying as they’re giving birth would also be in danger.

    • @c.a.greene8395
      @c.a.greene8395 3 роки тому

      @@ghosttrees5362 seal pups and their mothers are the number 1 food source of polar bears, the south pole has far too many and they could balance out the herd

    • @ghosttrees5362
      @ghosttrees5362 3 роки тому +1

      It does sound nice but it’s not as easy as it looks and would be great risk, particularly in the non-native category. As Polar bears are non-native species, we don’t know if they’re introduction will spark competition for food and space with native species. They might even cause new diseases to spread which will deplete native numbers further. Likewise, there could be diseases that will negatively impact polar bears. In one of my marine science courses for research, we actually talked about this subject as the reasons penguins have survived on land is due to lack of land predators and because their seasonal breeding times overlap. Many land species such as the Emperor Penguin will be naive to the introduction of polar bears and they’ll be extremely vulnerable as they breed in winter and have to balance their egg in their pouch. Imagine if a polar bear were to enter the picture. well, all those penguins holding eggs would be even more vulnerable than ever. This would also impact other species who migrate to Antarctica during certain seasons for breeding.
      So, while polar bears do in fact eat seals, they eat certain seals that are already adapted to dealing with them and have certain behaviors that can help them avoid polar bears. For example, ringed seals build lairs to hide their pups from the cold and mostly from predators. However, Weddell seals don’t do that. They are completely out in the open when giving birth, and are solitary. Walruses, because they live in an area where land predators exist, theyre actually social because they work as a team against polar bears. Most seals are not, and the Weddell seal also stand out with their gray spotted markings against the white snow. I know it seems like a lot of negative im saying and I really wish we could put polar bears there, but I honestly can’t see it happening as so many things can go wrong.

    What I don’t understand is if 21 Colonies of Adeli penguins became extinct. It was also stated that the scientists watched every single chick starve to death. Instead of just studying the penguins do something. Krill are easy to breed, so breed and release them so the young don’t starve. If the areas there used to be Penguins but now they are extinct of the adeli penguin use them as breeding areas for the krill to bring the penguins back. Many aquariums all over the world have huge tanks where they just breed krill to feed the animals in their custody. I really hate when you hear studies have been going on for years and years and years but nothing has been done.

      @@yesname4889 I do what I can not to impact the environment as I can. I own 11 acres in NJ live on 1 and the rest is left for wildlife and conservation. So I feel I have a right to my little luxury of a cell phone as for a TV, cable and a gas driven car they are no no’s in my life and yes I use solar electric for my car.

      @@jennylynwall3424 buddy i admire you effort to earth but 1 cellphone is not just 1 cellphone... that the process of creating + creating satellites + ground cables , air cables + + and + satff... in other hand not doing it is not making human revolution and that is going round and round... and because of all that i say that you need to leave nature to do what does as it is not only about ecological things it is also everything around things as example there is a bird that is found only in 1 particular forest and that birds are there because of particular plant and that plant test sugary (which birds eat) but the sugary staff of the plant is created by insects ( a special insects that live in that forest because of other insects and because of that plants ) so as you see that helping the bird you in reality need to help all around it and if you like to do that than human will disappear... so it always comes to the point that you need to leave nature to do what does as some animals will adopt as example under water there is particular fish that lives around volcano zone where the temperature rises wayyy higher than normal. I hope you understand what i mean

    It's 2022 my friend just came back from cruising Antarctica. Apparently your coments are bogus, hysterical and missing the point. The 7th continent is doing fine and looks like we are saved from all this stories you're telling us in this movie. Get real science get the facts !
