  • Mozart's Life in Vienna Austria 🇦🇹
In this video we will give our First Impressions of Vienna Austria.
So far in our 28th country, we partied until the giant tents, drank liter sized cold beer, and enjoyed incredible music at Oktoberfest. Welcome to our Austria series. Today we will explore the life of Mozart. Still to come we explore the life of Beethoven and we will tour Europe's most livable city; Vienna. Grüß Gott.
Mozarthaus in Vienna Austria presents the life and work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The museum focuses on his Vienna years from 1781 to 1791.
We toured the only remaining apartment in Vienna, in which Mozart lived. He composed more music here than anywhere else.
Mozart's Vienna is the exhibit on the 3rd floor. "I assure you that this is a magnificent place" Mozart wrote to his father in Salzburg in 1781.
Mozart and his family lived in the apartment here from 1784 to 1787. Here he wrote the Marriage of Figaro. This was the largest and most expensive of his apartments. The apartment has 4 large rooms, 2 small ones and a kitchen. There are a multitude of "pieces from the time" so that you can see what he would have had in terms of furnishings and entertainment.
When Mozart was buried in 1791, the graves in the Saint Marx Cemetary were mainly shaft graves in the form of simple burial mounds, with an occasional wooden cross.
So, even just a short time after his death, it was already hard to determine Mozart's exact burial place. After extensive research, the decision was made in 1859, to build a representative tomb here.
That tomb was moved to the Vienna Central Cemetary in 1891, for the 100th anniversary of Mozart's death. This tomb was built in its place. It has been mostly unaltered and can still be found here today, in the St. Marx Cemetary.
This is WITY TRAVELS. And we thank God for our time in Vienna Austria.
Travel is such a blessing. We can't help but thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for this life He has given us.
In case you are new here, we are Will and Katy and we are a married couple that hopes to show you what it is like to travel around the world in 2024!

I've been to Vienna many times but never visited this. What a brilliant place to visit. His story is fascinating. His requiem is one of the most stunning pieces of music ever written. So sad that he was buried as a pauper. We loved this. Cheers 🍻

We were not in Vienna nearly as long as you guys were, so we didn't have time to do the Mozart touring. It was great to see all the sites you shared!

Fascinating look into the life of such a household name but someone most people (myself included) know very little about. I remember seeing the museum when I visited Vienna many years ago but for whatever reason I didn't go inside. How crazy that he was buried at a nondescript location like that but as you said times were different back then. Looking forward to hearing more about Beethoven.

Now you have to back and tour the museum! The graves of the other famous composers who died in Austria are so elaborate and we don't even know for sure where his body is. Very sad.
