Godot is improving very well for 3D (4.2 improved the animation system) and is still very serviceable for making 3D games. The myth that Godot is bad for 3D comes from older versions of Godot where there wasn't a focused development point and that there weren't optimizations made that are now available today. With the graphics rewrite for Godot 4, 3D game development has become a lot easier (and you can use Jolt Physics for Godot if you really don't want to deal with Godot's built-in physics system)
Yeah, i can see that, in the last version Godot's developer focused mainly about 3D, and i think in the future Godot will more good in 3D, i wasn't know about Jolt physics! i will search about it, and thanks for the explanation.
I think that Godot 3.x series was also good at 3D-graphics. It was actually capable to photoreal like graphics and it renders fast too but limited to OpenGL ES 3. Occluders were missing at the beginning but that didn't stop developing games using own solution for culling or waiting those to implemented. It is clear that when new major version is released, it is "work in progress". Game development can start like bringing assets and then writing code (looks like they don't break API until next major release), but setting lighting, polishing and testing is done later and then the engine itself is polished and they make stable LTS release.
So say i wanted a platformer which had a low poly static voxel style 3d background with a 2D viewport character. For example 2D on 3D that'd be a good fit for godot now in it's current state right?
a port of SFXR is build into LMMS, so if you get LMMS you also have SFXR, and can ofcause include any sound from SFXR into your game-music. That is why SFXR is in LMMS in the first place; To make effects in music. Add LMMS' effects like reverb, delay echo aso and you get even more powerfull SFXR effect
I recently started learning game development in my free time and encountered a recurring issue with Godot 4. When I attempt to save after navigating through some child nodes, the application suddenly freezes and becomes unresponsive. Despite searching for solutions, I haven't found any fixes. I even went as far as deleting the project I just started with to learn game development, again downloading & extracting Godot 4, and updating my graphics driver. My laptop has a Ryzen 5 processor, so I'm unsure what's causing the problem. Consequently, I've decided to switch to Unity and begin my game development journey with 2D projects.
Thanks Man! Really Processing uses JavaScript? i don't know if they made an update and start using JavaScript, but when i was using it, it was using Java
Sadly Godot is digging yourself into a grave because they decided to block any sort of person who judges them political views pone I might just stick the game maker or another 3-D gaming make one from scratch and I’m not talking about the program scratch I’m talking about old-school coding programs
For the love of god dont use LMMS, its is just a waste of time, it is crammed with uncurated tools, it is FOSS at its worst, just go with a DAW that actually cares about your experience

@@anydev remember kinitopet exists rn.
I actually didn't download the latest version of Godot, but Godot's developers are working to make Godot better in 3D.

Really!! i wasn't know that, SFXR is build into LMMS, that makes it more powerful actually, thanks for information MAN!
godot is pretty great in 3d and it's improuving with the time , also actualy you can make any 3d game you imagine with godot
I actually don't have any experience with 3D in Godot, but what people say Godot is really better in 3D in the latest versions.
@@anydev yes it is
Game Maker became also free for non-commercial use
Really, I was not know that!! Thank you for make us know

What i use is Aseprite (free, github or somewhere else) inkscape free open source for vector art blender for 3d and finally godot
You must be an artist in 2D
You must be an artist in 2D
yeah aseprite is free if you build the source code
Lol....why do you not have more subs? Thanks for the Softwares. Was not expecting that voice though...BTW
I Subscribed...
Thanks a lot MAN!
thanks for the free alternatives but most importantly because of you I just figured out how does moroccain accent sounds in english

Good, that means you really want to learn game development, you didn't stop even the game engine doesn't work, I wish you the best
You forgot Audacity and DaVinchi for SFX (davinchi can also be used for making trailers)
Yeah, they will be in part 2 soon!
Keep going bro ❤❤
Thanks MAN!
Lmms, Godot, Krita
Please do part 2!
Krita is awesome and has a great community
Yeah, it is really popular and powerful in digital drawing
Nice video, didn't know about the music and audio softwares. Also Processing uses Javascript, not Java.

Tysm for the tool you're the G.O.A.T
Thanks!
Please turn down the sound effects, too loud. Louder than your voice.

Anydev will you remember me when your famous? :)
I will

Why was this video made a year ago but claims to be for next year?
For the views i think! and because the free software are still the same in this day.
@anydev But it's only 2024. More software could be released making the title inaccurate
Rarely when a new free software get released, especially in game dev!

By not activating it, windows itself is now one of these free tools!

Godot 2D is better unity 😎
No
you are morocan dont ask me whay i dont now too hhh
You use literal Windows. Why are you talking about free software?
Besides that, Unreal Engine is not free.
Ah yes everyone knows if you pay for your OS you MUST pay for every single piece of software you want. Makes total sense
Who said everyone paid for it?

just because itss FOSS doesnt mean its great.
