Leisk had a horror GP season in 90 but signed off well at the Motocross des Nations in Sweden. He said that if he didn't enjoy fulltime professional racing, he would walk away and I think that crash in round one was 'enough'.
He had some close calls over the years, especially a broken vertebrae at the 1985 de Nations, 1986 San Diego supercross when Billy Liles landed on Jeff and crushed his jaw into the handlebars. Jeff never raced again with an open-face helmet after that and he missed much of the supercross season and had to play catch-up in the 125cc outdoors.
But his natural ride was the 500cc bikes.
