This video confirms the DPS theory I've had for a while. In terms of DPS as in which turret will kill you the fastest: Magnum (DD) > Shaft (scope) > Hammer (upgraded/drugger) > Striker (salvo) > Isida > Firebird > Freeze > Twins > Vulcan > Ricochet > Striker > Smoky > Gauss (snipe) > Thunder > Gauss > Magnum > Railgun > Shaft > Hammer Now, of course this depends on your hull's HP, but we are talking average armor here. Shaft, Hammer, and Striker can kill an enemy faster than a melee turret if using boost abilities. From there on, DPS takes its natural hierarchy of frequency of shot > longest reload. The more power per shot your turret has, the less DPS it offers, but has a higher chance of a one-shot kill (esp. w/ DD). Gauss's DPS is actually pretty low face-to-face, only slightly better than Railgun, unless using it's snipeshot from the start, which it has a slight edge over Thunder. Though I'd say Gauss is weaker than Striker, because Striker can often kill in just one salvo (heavy hulls if using later alts), while Gauss almost always never does unless using DD. Gauss was made to be a hybrid turret to match modern playstyles. It optimizes between Smoky's frequency and Thunder's damage per shot to feel more versatile (though gives up a little power). And of course, everyone wants 2 forms of damage now, so it can boost shot just like Striker. Personally, Gauss's true power comes in its range and invisible laser of the snipeshot, which loads faster than Striker's. That can be real deadly to catch others off guard. But with normal shots, as a Vulcan player myself, Gauss is less threatening than Thunder, Smoky, and Striker. Sorry, just is! :/
You are forgetting that gauss has area damage, it can kill more than one traget it one shot,striker can kill in one salvo But the blast radius of the salvos are weaker

Out of sniper mode, Gauss's area of effect is actually smaller than Thunder's. Gauss can be very dangerous with a well-placed sniper shot into enemy territory (same as Thunder DD), but as an on-the-run turret, it's pretty average. A skilled Ricochet will kill you much faster.
Although it's damage was about on par with Thunder, Smoky, Railgun, and Magnum, it was certainly weaker than ones like Striker, Rico, Shaft, and Vulcan. It's powers come from long range sniping skills and the ability to knock off aim, so more distance in an average battle setting would've suited it better. Good job and it seems quite accurate but the fact that almost every tanki online player is a drugger and usually almost has every single supply which kinda ruins this game for noobs as they dont get a chance to compete so really there would be different circumstances if the turrets are equiped with double damage or xtra health

Completely crap comparison, gauss is a DISTANCE weapon, not short up. It makes minced meat of ALL short and medium distance weapons when you catch them far out. That's how you play that thing.

gauss is to be played with technique, unlike firebird or freez in which you can just stand infront
