Jag såg Mick Taylor i Göteborg 1973,, Fantastiskt
4 times but only ronnie wood (paris 1982 2 shows,lyon 82 and marseille 1989). Never mick taylor unforntunatly. How lucky you are.
Lucky f'er. I wasn't born yet but I seen them with Taylor on the 50 year tour twice. Ronnie wasn't a good choice.
For me this is THE version of the Rolling Stones!

@jeremybares I'm 65 yo. I remember my brother getting get yur ya yas out in 69 I think. I fel then as I still do. Midnight Rambler and Sympathy for the devil, especially Taylor's killer lead was or is the apex of rock n roll. It never got better than it did when those two songs got recorded in New York City. A good set of headphones will put you in the crowd.
When I was 18, learning the guitar parts on this album was my higher education. Nice to come back to it after all these and hear it played with the same energy as Mick and Keith.

Just outstanding, Jeremy. I love how Keith filled out the rhythm part when Taylor was flying. And boy, do I miss Taylor - geez, he had been with the band for only 4-5 months by that tour, and he fitted right in. It's a tragedy he was too delicate to last and that M&K were both too selfish or distant to give him the support he needed.

@@jeremybares No problem at all! This is the best thing about youtube 🙂. When the first iPad was released, I used Garage Band a lot. And I bought an iRig to connect my strat. I recorded the rhythm, draw in the bass and drums in the sequencer, and it was the first time I good very easily record a whole song, very quick! It was so cool.
In one of my courses, my teacher came up with this one. (lets call it the "60's, 70's and 80's classics mandatory list" that you just need to know, because it's the foundation of your playing) So I literaly know the tabs note by note whyle you are you're playing it and how crazy hard (for me at lass) some parts in the solos where. Sultans of Swing wasn't actually that hard at all (nuances and emotions aside, It's hard in a very different way) , but I really struggled a lot on this one. And this, to make it really clear on forehand, because you diong a very great job! ;-) I hear exactly the parts where you struggle a little bit, (for those who don't know: stuggling is no more than (for example) that you must think about what's coming up on the next bar you need to play, which can lead to: completely messing it up or having a hickup in your timing.) And those things you can not explain to someone who never played or even touched a guitar or other instrument. The simplest things you hear someone play, can be frikking hard to actually play it yourself. And in this solo(s) The are a lot of those things. So, I really understand the effort and hours to do this. And I know the feeling that when you starting to learn these kinds of solo's. And it's becoming to feel natural, you just know you are on your way to become more than a really good player 🙂 This is for me inspiration to buy a new strat and start playing again! Thanks again, this was the only video I saw from you, so I will check out some more 🙂!
This is guitar playing made in heaven. Or hell, as the case might be. I don’t know how Jeremy accomplished it, but he sounds like the master, picking up all nuances and excitement of the original.

I can’t believe the dueling guitars solo on Sympathy from Ya Ya’s was not overdubbed after the fact because it is so perfect. But I read where the engineer swears it wasn’t, so who am I to doubt the greatness?!?

Kieth took the sound board recordings and mixed them during a break in that tour at at the magical Muscle Shoals studios making it The Greatest Live Album ever. They also laid down tracks during their visit there for Sticky Fingers. Brown Sugar, Wild Horses etc.

Ma chanson préférée des Stones ! A l'oreille, je connaissais les parties de chacun mais merci de les avoir mis comme çà en ligne en "parallèle".
Cette chanson est peut être la plus "aboutie" des glimmer twins : KR qui a écrit et joué toutes les partitions guitares y compris la basse et un solo et MJ qui livre un texte inspiré, magnifié évidemment par l'anecdote de "who killed the Kennedys ?" !!
C'est une des rares chansons qui a deux versions radicalement différentes tout aussi incroyables l'une que l'autre : la version "get yer ya ya's out" plus rock de l'époque avec le solo ébouriffant de Mick Taylor bien démonstratif de la meilleure période du groupe et la version du "Rock and Rolling Stones Circus", plus proche de l'originale, avec les percussions et les who who, complètement "satanique", qui met en transes dès les premières notes (il suffit de voir Lennon et Pete Townsend).
