The brilliantly talented Gibb brothers are legendary! Each uniquely fantastic on their own but together they were out -of -this -world.... Perfection!!! Maurice for me was the total package!!!! He holds my heart for all that he was!!! The endearing, courageous, talented, kind, loving, affectionate, humble, funny, precocious, good looking, musician, voice, dancer, harmonist, best personality.... All of him!!! Truly missed, never forgotten, greatly loved!!! Thank you for shining some light on the ever charming, talented, beautiful Maurice Ernest Gibb!!!
Did you know him?
Thank you Mo for the years of entertainment and joy you brought to millions. You are truly missed. 💔
Too true and beautifuly said . And our former neighbour not once but twice, n in normal life warm n full of fun n funny. Love them still. ❤
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Rest in Peace great singer Maurice!
Maurice was a handsome and Great Singer and Writer. Thanks for sharing his story. Miss Him and Robin and Andy. I have been listening to the Bee Gees since they started. RIP 🙏 💔😥
Thank you for the beautiful music you brought to the world. You were gone too soon. 😔
Maurice had it all. He was probably the most talented of the three. Not to take anything away from Barry and Robin. They were all three very talented. Maurice was the one you would see cut-up on stage. I love watching their videos and him acting silly. Especially the one when they were on Johnny Carson. He had a beautiful voice and listening to him and Lulu sing the first of May brings tears to my eyes every time. You can just see how much they truly cared for each other. Such a sad loss, losing Robin, Andy and Maurice, we will never have that beautiful sound again. I can't even imagine the pain Barry has felt. They will never be forgotten. RIP.
Mo was definitely the most talented when it came to playing instruments. Hands down though, Barry was their best songwriter.
That is for sure. People will not forget the "BEE GEES".
I agree with you...
Awsome band of brothers
They became legendary and ushered in a comple new era of music. DISCO was the music of a whole generation. Like them, it will never die !
It wasn't a "routine" surgery. Maurice had finished lunch and started to experience painfully sharp abdominal pain. He was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that he had a twisted colon--the same thing that killed young actress Heather O'Rourke. He was rushed into emergency surgery but it was discovered that the damage was too extensive and he was going into septic shock. Maurice died from a massive heart attack that was brought on by septic shock. Robin, who had caught the first flight from England to Florida when he heard the news about Mo, said he felt the exact moment when his twin passed.
That is so sad
Yes, it is very sad!
How do you know
@@katemaloney4296 might need to do a follow up video on this, thank you for the insight 😃
Well, Robin later did say it was a "routine" operation. Also, I believe Robin made it to the hospital before Mo died, so he wasn't actually on a flight.
Love you Mo.You will never be forgotten
Blessed Barry. R.I.P. Robin, Maurice and Andy 💔🙏
How sad to lose all of your brothers…
@@marianneschacht3799Indeed ❤
These guys had perfect harmony. Comes from being related to one another….
It’s called “blood harmony” in the Southern US and Appalachia.
God given talent...that still inspires so many lives.
Has mine for over 50 yrs.
Fame Did Not Destroy Everything. .Maurice is not here to defend himself .
Love them 💕 ❤️ 💓
I met him in Miami he was laid back a regular guy, RIP brother
God bless Little River
Praise the lord for Maurice Gibb. His brothers were inspirational.
Barry, as the primary vocalist and rhythm guitarist , was the essential sound of their arrangements. From the early years on, Barry was the constant instrumentation heard live on stage and in their recordings. Maurice was the least talented lead vocalist, did sing harmony well, and the fact that he played bass, guitar, and keys made him the most versatile musician in the band. Robin had standout parts and the odd, yet beautiful vibrato in his voice was crucial to the earliest big hits, Barry’s was by far the best vocalist and was the strength of their sound with his the best tone and range to his voice.
Robin was cool.
@@danstune Kudos to someone
for getting it right!👏👏👏But I'll also add Barry was their primary songwriter as well. He was the key to their success!
@ I agree on the song writing- Barry was the passionate writer who wrote the best lyrics.
@@danstuneAgreed!
I miss Maurice Robin n also Andy Gibb very much tq for your amazing music guys God bless Barry still with us
Very talented, all three of them.
Robin was born 35 minutes BEFORE Maurice.
Not according to the audio. Robin was born 35 minutes after Maurice....
We realize what the VIDEO AUDIO SAYS. DAAH!
WHAT THEY ARE TELLING YOU, MAM. IT IS REPORTED INCORRECTLY!!! THEIR SOURCE OF INFO IS INCORRECT!! GET IT NOW??
I had a crush on Maurice Gibb. I was really sad when he passed away.❤
😂😂my crush was Andy in the 70's❤
Maurice was the best RIP 💙💥
The Bee Gees brought talent and beautiful music to us all over many years … thank you !! Sad this happened though health issues are not easy whether famous or not we’re all human
Time catches up to everyone I guess, but he was truly amazing at his craft. Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe!
Thank you for posting this interesting video
Good video but Maurice was actually younger then Robin by 35 Minutes
It's hard to sit through any doco that has errors in fact in the first sentences.
By the late 1970s Maurice Gibb looked 10 years older than he was due to his booze problems. Still Maurice was the most talented musician in the Bee Gees by far. Bass, keyboards, and other instruments made him just as important as Barry and Robins singing.
Yes, instrumentally, but that doesn' t mean in all aspects of music. If you were measuring their music talent based solely on their instrumental ability.
Then Robin would come in dead last! But we all know better than that!!! ROBIN never performed any instruments during the BeeGees stage performances. Not to say that he never played any instruments for his own enjoyment in his life. But as a performer, with the BeeGees, or in cutting tracks in the studio, NO, that' s not where Robin' s richest talent lie. So let' s not call out 1 of the BeeGees as the most musically talented, based on the # of instruments they could play!!!Come on! Nor the # of songs they wrote, according to each of the three.
The three of them needed each other' s musical talent. They each learned that when they released their tracks as SOLO ARTIST! NONE OF THEM HAD ANY #1 CHART BUSTERS AS SOLO ARTIST.
THEY NEEDED EACH OTHER FOR SUCCESS. THEY NEEDED EACH OTHERS OVER FLOWING TALENT!!!!!LET' S GET THAT STRAIGHT, & DON'T
EVER FORGET THAT. THEY WERE A PHENOMENAL TALENTED G-R-O-U-P! WHO ALL NEEDED EACH OTHER FOR SUCCESS, THAT' S HOW THEY ACHIEVED THEIR "SUCCESS"!!!!!
Maurice, the peacemaker was my favorite
Thank you for sharing. It was very enlightening to know about Maurice Gibb. Ron 🇨🇦
Thank you all for the magnificent Vocals and Stunning and Perfect!! So Talented and loved by Millions and hearts of Gold 🎉😅😊🤗
Fame does not destroy everything and anyone. It is how people handle fame. I am a different, famous person, but I can handle it. I love the BeeGees, including their brother Andy, but I wish they had cared for themselves.
Loved them way more than the Beatles.
By far!! Way better than the Beatles.
Thanks for sharing ñow I know where the marvelous music coms from im a great Beatles fan Bee Gees were just as great RIP GUYS❤❤
His name is pronounced like Morris the British Car . the bot voice over is crap
Yý
Surgery is never “routine”.
It was an emergency surgery. Emergency surgeries are never a routine.
Moris byl velmi sympaticky clen skupiny Bee geeb.Hudebne nadany supr😊🎉
There's no Morris. His name is Maurice
Being famous dosnt come without sits drawbacks and heartache, which was such a shame ,Thysanoptera were so talented and just love their music
My favourite BeeGee🦋🥰. However I do admire them all. 🥰🥰🥰
Fame does not destroy people and other things. It is how you handle fame. I can handle fame as long as no one talks me into doing things I do not want.
The Bee Gees were my favorite group back in the day. I saw them in concert during the 1979 "Spirits Having Flown" tour, Btw, Maurice's name is pronounced "Morris" (like the cat).
Je jich věcna škoda řada jsem je poslouchala mají skvělé písničky posílám pozdrav všem třem bratrům do nebe a samozřejmě i tomu co žije vaše písničky mám i na cd jsou skvělé 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
RIP ♥
They must have been so proud having 4 very talented sons xxxxxx
PLEASE PRONOUNCE HIS NAME PROPERLY. It’s Maurice, not “more Reece”
The name I'd Morris, check it out
@@youngbess1 ok I will try and have this fixed, thank you for watching! 😁
These channels try their best!
@@maryannparker4299
Exactly. Pronounced Morris.
Ja voor my beeegees is er maar eeen nooit andere ❤😂😂😂😂😂😂
Maurice preferred the shadows over the spotlight; I admire that.
EXCUSE me but you made mistakes! Their early hits as well as Jive talking were completely written by Barry!
Also the falsetto you mentioned also was Barry's!!!
ua-cam.com/video/WgLE_5CHEG8/v-deo.html It was Nights On Broadway that we got our first taste of the falsetto. Maurice showed it to us first.
Would be interested in your source stating that Barry wrote, Jive Talkin' on his own as well. I didn't think this was true, so been looking it up and clearly, all 3 of them are credited with it on every site I looked at. EDIT: And I know for a fact, that Barry did not write all their early work on his own. That's hogwash. I don't know where you got your information, but, I'd turn to other sources.
It was definitely Barry that made their falsetto sound iconic, for the first time, most notably in the studio recording of Nights on Broadway. However, Maurice gave a killer performance picking up the falsetto when it was performed live on The Midnight Special. ua-cam.com/video/ld5_UQhQv5E/v-deo.htmlsi=Zzd65d1NO8IaWNRU Imho, it was their combined talents that made The Bee Gees so special.
@@michellefederico4510 I was never denying Barry's falsetto. No one can deny that, but it was Maurice who did it first, in, Nights on Broadway. I put a link there to show him singing. Barry would go on to produce the best falsetto I think the world has likely ever seen. Give me an artist if you disagree, and I might change my opinion, but no one comes to mind for me. I don't even recall where the narrator was speaking of Maurice's falsetto, so I wasn't replying to what thund3rbolt54 was specifically speaking of, but, only to make it known that Maurice had one as well, and he was the first Bee Gee to use it. Certainly not the last, and certainly not the best. That one does belong to Barry.
@@n_baileyname2698 No he didn't! He was making fun like most of the times!
His name is pronounced "Morris"-- isn't it?
Different words or names are pronounced differently in different languages.
Yes.
YES not “more Reece”
@@Gizella2010his name is pronounced in the English language
I would say, more like Morris, but with an A rather than an O. Marris.
Fame didn't destroy him. He destroyed himself.
Doggone shame comment.. STFU .. ! U know nothing! Specially when I read such a bonker comment..! and knowing what I know about Maurice Ernest Gibb, by being one of his close most of my life! Maurice was a 💎as a human and as a musician..! Please stop your outrageous B.S . 🤬🙄
I miss them all. I will listen to their music till the day I pass away.
Some famous performers such as group bands cannot perform well if they are not in the influence of alcohol and drugs....
Sorry, but I disagree!
@Gizella2010 I said "SOME" NOT ALL....
Love
Best group
That's because many have fear of performing in front of hysterical crowds...
I have never read more contradictory comments on a video. Nor have I ever listened to so many errors regarding the Bee Gees. Sir, you need to do proper research before issuing any videos, as this one proves you have very little true interest in the facts or the Bee Gees.
Some of the information presented is incorrect.
I really loved their older songs, but disco not so much.
Mr Jones, Massachusetts can't refuse Staying Alive RIP brother 🙏
none of them saw their music as disco but R&B. it really pissed them off
@@parisjok5311 Their whole shtick, from their music to their clothes, epitomized disco.
Loved all their music!
I wish u would get facts right always get it wrong xxxxx❤❤
Maurice was born Second. Robin was the eldest.
Ja. Geen woorden voor zo ergals je dit meemaak sterkte barry cibb en de familie ook 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Robin was born first, not Maurice.
😘😘😘😘😘😘
Maurice’s death was a tragedy but we cannot look passed the fact Maurice had a long history with alcholism which could have taken a toll on his early death
No it was a hereditary disorder which robin suffered from later too. Robin survived it only to get colon cancer though.
Ja gaaf top beegees 😂😂😂😂😅😢😢😢
More mistakes, Robin was born before Maurice
Only the body dies, the soul, spirit or consciousness is eternal. Watch videos of those who temporarily die (near death experience or NDE and who returned to their bodies. I've studied approx. 1k accounts over the past 50 years. You'll learn not only about the afterlife but valuable, potentially life changing truths about life while you're still in the physical world. 😊
1:11 Who's that at the right?
It's Barry
what did his death have to do, with fame....Gibb died suddenly at the age of 53 at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, on 12 January 2003; he went into cardiac arrest prior to emergency surgery for a twisted intestine
I worked part time at their Miami Beach studio with Peter M. who built their studio in an old warehouse across from where I worked . I met one of them , but I don’t recall which one?
@@RJFP67 wow that’s such a cool story, were they nice in person?
I'm sure they were. We all know the brothers to be kind, funny, decent and humble 😁
Robin was born first 35 minutes Before Maurice
Robin was 35 min older than Maurice, pronounced Morris by the way. This said Maurice was the oldest twin.
In US the name Maurice is pronounced mar-Reece. Morris is pronounced Morris.
@@TheYellowrose21 noted, I will try and have that fixed, thank you for watching!
The US is irrelevant. The Gibb Brothers were born on the Isle of Man near the UK. In the UK, the name is pronounced Morris. In interviews, that's how his mother pronounced his name and she'd have more of a clue than you would. When they lived in Australia, they found out that the Australians also pronounce the name Morris. Perhaps the Yanks should show more respect and find out how to pronounce someone's name.
For heavens sake get the pronounciation of his name right, it's Morris
There is so much false information here including which songs Maurice wrote, and its MORRIS!
@@Juliet-anna I appreciate the comment and will work on improving future videos, thank you for watching!
“Morris”
I wish people who make these videos would understand that his name is pronounced like Morris.
Maurice was very talented but to say the most talented of the three I don’t think is accurate as A musician yes but didn’t have the voice and didn’t write lyrics like Barry and robin although his vocals were Essential to there famous three part harmony but limit to solo leads
It's pronounced MORRIS.
Ive always wondered why their parents never fixed their teeth, even when they got older why they didn't fix those teeth.
Poor Robins seem the worst.
As they got older, they certainly had the money to.
They fixed their teeth. The family just had large teeth. They definitely had veneers. And Robin teeth were no longer crooked.
His name is pronounced MORRIS
You know I know. They already know 50 comments saying the same damn thing they get it. You make a perfect video
How annoying... Where did Mour...ese come from ? Please pronounce the name right Mourase
Im a biiiiiig fun Bee Gees❤❤❤ For me Robin was the best voice ever, but Moris was also very talented! Both of them! Was my favorit band ever! Rest in peace dear tweens, love you for ever!❤❤
