The LUMIX S1H is a full-frame mirrorless camera for film production, scaled to a hand-held design without compromising professional-level standards. It offers extensive recording modes and cinematic image quality to meet the high demands of today’s creators. With superior functionality that slots effortlessly into the professional workflow, the S1H is also designed for active filming in the field when attached to a gimbal or drone.
A newly developed 24.2-megapixel full-frame image sensor complies with the new Dual Native ISO. In combination with the optimum signal processing by Venus Engine, it achieves high sensitivity and minimum noise. The LUMIX S1H provides 14+ stops of dynamic range, which is as wide as those of cinema cameras, and V-Log / V-Gamut compatible with popular colorimetry called “VariCam Look.” What makes the LUMIX S1H a special camera is an unlimited recording time in all recording modes thanks to unique heat dispersion technologies. HDR (High Dynamic Range) in HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording and output through HDMI. Anamorphic 4:3 modes are also available together with a variety of practical tools for film making, such as tally lights, a waveform monitor and a V-Log View Assist function (LUT Viewer).
The LUMIX S1H full-frame mirrorless camera system adopts the L-Mount system to provide users with a diverse and future-proof range of products. Currently more than 46 interchangeable lenses including 11 or more LUMIX S/S PRO lenses are available or will be available from Panasonic, Leica Camera and Sigma to choose from and a variety of mount adapters/converters further expand the opportunities to use even more lenses. The L-Mount thereby opens up an almost limitless spectrum of new creative possibilities.

Everything looks great except that 4:2:0 for full frame image... As I understand it, there's no way to get 4:2:2 full frame in camera, it's only possible with external recorder?
Lets see: How can I say this in a nice way? Well here we go. After watching this short, I am glad I don't own a $98000.00 Cinema Camera right now!

Man, I just wish they developed a phase-detection focus system for this (and all the S1 cameras) camera. Literally, even if it was just a small cluster in the center, for easier gimbal work. This camera will be amazing either way, and if it's truly used alongside a Varicam, the AF issue won't really matter. I love that it has a timecode port too.

Nick's work is beautiful, loved the piece he filmed; still crazy about the faux-crane forklift shot and the slider shot against the chain link fence. Gotta save for it, but I'm excited to get my hands on this camera.
What type of connection can we use for timecode that attaches to the Provided S1H cable to go into a 3.5 jack on a Sound Devices Mix-Pre 6ii field mixer?

That video was excellent mate... Well done... The fat guy was so funny... "This kid - I dont know what I gotta do with this kid" - that is funny... Frankie - its a bad time..... Guys this was extremely professional... Next level... I dont even know anything about videography - we do training - it was between S1 and S1H - I dont see how we can resist the S1H.

Has the S1H given you any problems recording in 6k internal with SDCX cards?
Great seeing this camera in action! It's amazing what the S1H can do! It has a lot great features other cameras do not have. I was hoping for Raw & ProRes, but maybe that's limited because of the SD cards. This is a pro camera, why not have an XQD card slot?
If you have an ATOMOS Ninja V, from January 2020 you'll be able to record 4K PRORES RAW straight from the S1h ! :-)

Nope, but you can charge the battery and export data via USB-C.
What type of lights are those, the tube lights?
They are the 2ft quasar science RGB
Why don t you use an EVA1? it is a very good camera, and it is a video camera.

if it can shoot 8k it will be progressive cool camera. gh5 can shoot 6k anamorphik. wy s1h cant shoot 8k anamorpik? where raw and 12 bit?

its not the camera but the lenses on the camera....all the videos i hv seen on this camera are with lenses more expensive than the camera. let me be heading to Sony world quietly
The only problem is that the Panasonic want you to pre-order this they just tell you 6K 10 bit they don't tell you what frame rates that the 10 bit is going to be in I mean if you got a truck load cash just lying around and you want to pre-order something without knowing any of that final specs then the haven't had it lol oh I looked a little deeper and did see that it said 6K and 24p so I guess no 6K and 60p this is basically a gh6 but full frame which is nice we'll see if they have some type of package deal with the lands like a kit lens with it but right now you're paying 4000 plus another 2,000 so you're going to be in at like six thousand plus dollars just for the camera and a decent lens
Panasonic has published the shooting profiles, all 42 of them that cover 6K down to 1080p with the h.265 CODEC, ALL-I recording from C4K down to 1080p, Anamorphic recording at 4K 4:3, 6K full-frame 3:2, Anamorphic Desqueeze displays Cinemascope-size video at 1.3x, 1.33x, 1.5x, 1.8x, and 2.0x. It has Varicam cine color and 14+ stops of dynamic range. It can record 6K video for 2 hours on just ONE camera battery, or 4 hours if you add on the battery grip. It has 6 stops of IBIS stabilization so you can shoot smooth handheld footage. Here's what GH5 cameras can do when shooting HANDHELD with MANUAL focus. No tripod. No gimbal. All footage HANDHELD using GH5 IBIS to stabilize the camera...

Right now Panasonic is the only camera brand with IBIS that can stabilize handheld shots like this.
But what about
1) internal Prores?
2) internal compressed RAW?
3) clean 240fps @ 1080p?
4) clean 160fps @ 4K (cropped OK)?
Sorry, I don't trust timecode built in any camera. Lockit boxes are so much better.
Aurical Media definitely you can trust any camera in time code you have have a box on camera

13 stops of DR...
BMCC pocket 6K has a smaller sensor thus less DR and poorer DOF. No dual base ISO option. No body IS. No pro Codec for in-camera cine log 422 shooting. No HDR multiple still shots. No 14-bit laterality. Built like a plastic toy. This new 6K S1H from Panny is a real pro cine/photo camera, solid, reliable, another league vs the BMCC pocket. Every single aspect in the S1h is far ahead of the prosumer BMCC. Gimme a break and go back to your orange lollipop.
Black magic output is realy nice but.... You need to buy 15 battery for shooting for 1day shoot
