Thank you for this. I am new to the Catholic faith. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from birth (technically age 8 I was baptized in the Mormon faith). I am male in my mid 40's. I submitted my paperwork to become a Catholic member at my local Parish. I feel the Catholic church is the one true church of God and Jesus Christ.

I am happy that you left the LDS and its 'other Gospel' which is specifically discussed in God's Word. However, this explanation of the Catholic 'tradition' of priests acting as mediators is definitely unbiblical. The discusser here is basing his assessment on the position of a 'Catholic priest' by referencing the position of the 'Jewish priesthood' PRIOR to Jesus and then melding them together. However, Jesus's death on the cross and shedding His blood as the 'final Lamb' for sins ended the position for others. The 'one mediator' was already mentioned here but also look at Hebrews 7:22-27. The ONE AND FINAL determination of God's Will on this Earth is His Word. Everything everyone states should be tested against His Word. Examples: "There shall be no graven images" yet the Catholic tradition is to do exactly the opposite; Going back the the 'one mediator', the discusser here references the priest mesh up. However, the added falsehood to his explanation is the contradiction to his 'priest' theory. That is the Catholic-version of the 'Saints'. First...ALL believers in Christ Jesus are 'saints' (as referenced in the introduction of every letter written to the churches at Corinth, and so on). Second, they 'convey [Catholic] sainthood' on people 'that have died' who are then prayed to 'for intercession'. This latter point contradicts his reference and further verifies that Jesus is the ONLY intercessor; The only reference to Mary in the entire scripture in regards to being lifted up was specifically stated as 'among women'. Further, at the time of the healing of the paralytic that was dropped through the ceiling, the crowd told Jesus that His 'mother and brethren' were outside waiting for Him. He stretched out His arms over all and stated 'behold my mother and my brethren. For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in Heaven is my mother and my brethren'. Yet the Catholic 'tradition' turned her into more than she was and is while being against scripture as a non-intercessor (Jesus being the only) and a dead person (speaking to the dead was not to happen); when the certain ruler asked what he needed to inherit the kingdom of God by calling Him 'good teacher', Jesus first addressed the salutation saying 'why do you call Me good. No one is good but My Father in Heaven' (Luke 18:18). Yet the Catholic Church (man) 'determined' that, when the Pope rose to the position of Pope he was now 'perfect', later adding 'in all things spiritual' (Papal Infallibility). So far ALL of the 'traditions, of the Catholic Church are unbiblical and actually take 'away' from the power of Christ and focus the parishioners on other than Christ. This is completely anti-biblical. Even the rosary gives a hint of this when that 'device' primarily takes the focus to Mary while the least to Christ. Follow a bible teaching, bible practicing Christian Fellowship and all that you hear, test by the Holy Word of God -- Please

@@mattcarney9946 That entire writeup is wrong in so many ways I cannot even comment on it from the mediator part to the Saints, to Mary and the Pope.. I would comment on a few but I believe your judgmental beliefs are too far overboard..

One who is not born again, or born of Christ does not have access to Christ, our mediator. Those who are born of Him, have access to Christ, our mediator. Only Christ has access to the Father.
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬
No one can come to the Father, except through Jesus. Without Jesus, there is no access. A mediator is a go-between. There is only one go-between. The fact we have access to the Father through the ONE mediator makes us priests. We can pray for the unregenerate etc. since they are not born again.
Praying to deceased people and Mary is simply unbiblical and contrary to the scriptures.
“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:27‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Please....take a class in "Basic Christianity 101" that includes study of the Church before 1600 A.D. (about the time your way of interpreting Scripture came about!) and you just might find out a few things about the "Faith Once Delivered

The Hail Mary Is all about Christ incarnation guess these morons are against Jesus ..Without the incarnation, we would have no Our Father. If Jesus had not taken flesh in her womb, we would necver have heard of her. So whenever we pray the Hail Mary, we are professing our faith in Jesus, the Word made flesh. As she said to Elizabeth, her soul magnifies the Lord; everything about her speaks of God
The Power of Intercessory Prayer: Intercessory prayer proceeds from faith in God that holy men and women who have died are as alive today as they were on earth (Luke 20:38). If the prayer of the just man avails much, how much more the prayer of the one made perfect (Rev. 21:27) and living with God in heaven (the patriarchs, apostles and other holy men and women).James 5:16b "the fervent prayer of a righteous man is very powerful." Rev. 5:8 "When he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones. The angels, too, mediate our prayers. This is taught explicitly in the Jewish book of Tobit (Tob. 12:12), accepted by Christians as inspired until Luther on his own authority rejected it. It remains part of the Catholic Bible. Tobit 12:12 I can now tell you that when you, Tobit, and Sarah prayed, it was I who presented and read the record of your prayer before the Glory of the Lord; and I did the same thing when you used to bury the dead. Rev. 8:3 "Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a gold censer. He was given a great quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all the holy ones, on the gold altar that was before the throne." Is the rosary mindless babbling? The purpose of the different beads on the rosary is to count the various prayers as they are said. Unlike the Moslem prayer beads and the mantras of Buddhism, the prayers of the rosary are meant to occupy our whole being, body and soul, while meditating on the truths of the Faith. Any prayer is vain, however, if said mechanically without devotion. Simply to repeat prayers is not the vain repetition condemned by Christ (Mt 6:7), since He Himself repeats His prayer in the Garden three times (Mt 26:39, 42, 44) and the Psalms (inspired by the Holy Spirit) are often very repetitive (Ps 119 has 176 verses and Ps. 136 repeats the same phrase 26 times). Matthew 6:7 In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. Psalm 136:1-26 Praise the LORD, who is so good; God's love endures forever; Praise the God of gods; God's love endures forever; . . . Praise the God of heaven, God's love endures forever. Matthew 26:39 He advanced a little and fell prostrate in prayer, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet, not as I will, but as you will." Matthew 26:42 Withdrawing a second time, he prayed again, "My Father, if it is not possible that this cup pass without my drinking it, your will be done!" Matthew 26:44 He left them and withdrew again and prayed a third time, saying the same thing again. The Church believes that it is necessary for a Christian to meditate (prayerfully think about) the will of God, the life and teachings of Jesus, the price He paid for our salvation, and so on. Unless we do this we will begin to take these great gifts for granted and ultimately fall away from the Lord. Every Christian must meditate in some way in order to preserve the gift of salvation (James 1:22-25). Many Catholic and non-Catholic Christians prayerfully read and apply Scripture to their lives, that is, meditate on them. With the rosary this can be done virtually anywhere and anytime.

Did Jesus instituted the catholic church? matthew 16:18, john 20:19-23. if its only through jesus, why did jesus gave the power and AUTHORITY to jesus? thats what i dont understand. after the apostle john died, it doesn't start there. thats why we have the pope, which can be traced back 2000 years ago.
“[T]he custom [of not rebaptizing converts] . . . may be supposed to have had its origin in apostolic tradition, just as there are many things which are observed by the whole Church, and therefore are fairly held to have been enjoined by the apostles, which yet are not mentioned in their writings” (On Baptism, Against the Donatists 5:23[31] [A.D. 400]).
sacred tradition and sacred scripture (2 thessa 2:15) dont know how plainer it can be.
what happened after john died? polycarp, clement, ignaticus of antioch. as TRADITION SAYS not what the ONLY BIBLE SAYS, ignaticus of anitoch existed and lived with peter for 30-40 years and WAS ORDAINED BY PETER HIMSELF.
what about saint justin martyr? go read what he needs to say. all these people im pointing to, were they protestants? no. were they baptist? nope. the protestant formed in the 1500. how can we go by the bible only, the word of God, if saint augustine said :
Ambrose (340?-396), “How can we use those things which we do not find in the Holy Scriptures?” (Ambr. Offic., 1:23). if we only to go to the bible alone, show me the word trinity. show me in the bible at after the apostlic age diminishes, where does it say in sacred scriptures that there is going to be a shift in teaching the christian doctrine of sola scriptura? no way it doesnt say.
