Hook, Oblivion, and The Last Samurai are some of my favorite soundtracks. The "Oh, there you are, Peter!" scene ("You Are The Pan" in the album) tears me up every time.

Hans Zimmer score from Man of Steel.
My Chemical Fallout Killers At The Disco Agreed. Han's score was unquestionably the best thing in that movie. That learning to fly sequence perfectly musically captured Superman. And he created something that complimented the classic William's score rather than trying to mimic it.

It didn't win anything though, and it should have.
I love the theme in the first Thor movie. It was disappointing to find out it didn't make a return for the sequel.

So many great yet underappreciated film scores just in the past decade or two alone to have to comprise a top 10 list. I enjoyed watching your picks. One of my favorite composers is John Powell, with How To Train Your Dragon being my favorite score but Chicken Run perhaps being his most overlooked.

the Prince of Egypt score had me emotional. especially the burning bush scene. be it the piety of it and all... here are some of my favorite movie scores I'd like to share. 'Life goes on' -A league of their own. 'Coming home from the sea' - The perfect storm. Great expectations (1998). starship troopers. Dragon' The Bruce Lee story. Edward Scissorhands. Forrest Gump. The parent trap (1998).

Sarah Smith Only if you blindly listen to what critics have to say. I bet you think overrated/ dull crap like Crash and The Hurt Locker are some of the best movies of all time because critics said so.

I agree the score from Conan is great, but I like Paledoris' work from Hunt for Red October. I'm a huge movie score nerd and I think he's one of the most underrated composers ever.

The entire movie & score is Amazing
Wasn't surprised by it, but Finding Neverland should of been on the list, one of the best film scores ever written, listen to piano variation in blue, or peter. It has an awesome john Barry ish sound and a wide range of music.

Personally, I gotta say that I LOVED Bernard Herrmann's score for "Taxi Driver" very much. I even have the CD soundtrack of the movie already. I also felt the same for Basil Poledouris' score for the original "Conan the Barbarian" as well. They were fantastic!

Mask of Zorro, Last Samurai, Atlantis: The Lost Empire are some of my favorite movies from my childhood. Saw the Prince of Egypt and Treasure Planet once when I was young which made me cry
I literally got goose bumps when you said The Prince of Egypt! That movie and score are CRIMINALLY underrated. And the final music at the very end of the film is monumental to me:)!!!

"Jaws", "Conan" and "Taxi Driver" underrated? Well, as a film score fan, the "Taxi Driver" and "Conan" scores were among the first I bought when they were released on CD (must have been the early 90s).
Well it is true, they don't get as much attention as they should(especially taxi driver)
They clearly said that John Williams is KNOWN for Jaws and Star Wars.
I was thinking Klaus Bedalt's score from The Time Machine, particularly "Godspeed"...

Hook has always been one of my favourite scores, one of the first films I watched as a child where I really noticed the impact that music has within a film. Loved score music ever since.

Taxi Driver has my favorite score of all time and no one ever talks about it. It gives such a mellow but dark mood and it makes the movie sooo much better

i think that signs could have been on the list mainly for the hand of fate p1/p2 and also close encounters of the third kind. that movie had some really great music to fit the theme and feeling in each scene (ending theme is really good) also the red baron sound track is good too

I'm glad to see Hook and The Mask of Zorro on here, they're two of my all-time favorite films and I agree on the music. :) I would also add Gods and Generals. I remember very little about the hours-long war snoozefest, other than it being probably the only modern movie with an intermission, but the music is SPECTACULAR. I even have the CD.
Some of my fav scores that don't get enough recognition are The Fifth Element, The Help, Ever After, and Pride and Prejudice. Many people always refer to the music of the latter two films as being an integral part of why they like it, but these scores are not recognized as much as they should be nonetheless.
