Young people might have heard that Friends is a great show, a legendary show, and they might have even watched some of it on Netflix. U’ve gotta love Lisa Kudrow, such a down to earth woman & beautiful soul! I think everybody had a Phoebe in their life, & Lisa definitely infused a little of her own sweet quirkiness in her lovable character! Love u, Lisa Kudrow- blessing 2 u, always!
Yeah, no. Friends was a soap opera for teenage girls masquerading as a sitcom. Never found it funny at all. The X Files, Seinfeld and The Larry Sanders Show. Friends was a watered down Seinfeld copycat.
What is remarkable and commendable about them is that they did in fact stick together, especially when it came pay. They negotiated as a group as opposed to someone with a big ego thinking he/she deserved more which is completely opposite to what happened on Seinfeld.
I remember those times. I remember that I watched it and when I mentioned it at work, no one was aware of it. Within 6-8 shows it was getting recognition.
I recently had a baby and to help me stay awake during the night feedings, I've been watching old late night clips from the 90s. It's been amazing to see the evolution of Conan over the years. And Lisa was always happy to show up at least once a year to do an interview. What a friendship.
In like late 95 I was at Century City mall I think, and at the food court or whatever it was called, David Schwimmer and Matt LEBlanc came in. I looked across this cafe island and I caught Schwimmer's eye. I looked away, not wanting to disturb, and he looked like he was trying to sense if they were recognized. It is an indelible memory. Ironically, the guy with me and my then boyfriend was friends with Jennifer Aniston. These stories from the mid 90s are so special, and from there I wrote a spec read at WB at the invitation of Kevin Bright.
Let’s not also forget how awesome she was in Analyze That and Lucky Numbers! I like analyze that and how she reacts to the permissiveness of Crystal and debauchery of DeNiro!

And when HBO Max did the Friends reunion, somebody chose to have Corden ruin or host the reunion. Instead of choosing Conan who would be a better host, has a show on Max and is an actual friend of the cast of Friends. How do these people have jobs?
Conan wasn't on Max at the time. I know, I immediately thought of Conan being the host, but networks are very particular about that sort of thing. Corden was being pushed hard at the time (for some reason). If Conan had a show on Max at the time, he would have hosted the special.
@@Paulafan5 But they announced in 2020 that Conan was gonna have a show on HBO Max and TBS is owned by WarnerMedia anyway. So Conan was already working for WB and Corden was on CBS which is owned by Paramount, a rival studio. It doesn't make any sense. Even if Conan didn't want to host it, they could've picked so many people that would've been better.
That story with the "fangirls" in London was scary. Maybe they had some weird group compensation for the fangirling that overcorrected way too much to Misery levels.
Yeah, it's mind boggling for me. I heard a lot of celebrities talking about what it's like to be famous in interviews... but this story stands out. Sure, seemingly nice people can be (deep down) envious. But it's scary how they can flip like that without you saying/doing anything.
I'm British, and I think generally a lot of people here tend to mock and tease each other in a way that is totally friendly and affectionate but might seem hostile to people from overseas. I do wonder if it's possible the women in the department store were joking, thinking Lisa was in on the joke and it was good natured banter, not realising how it came across. I think typically people would only act like that with friends, but Lisa was a Friend, so... it's possible!
It's great money but man, I don't know if I could deal with people/photographers bothering me every moment I am outside. I enjoy too much being just another person walking the street to give it up.
What an endearing friendship to behold.
Considering how often he interviews her and reminisces about their years together, I'd say these two are each others "the one that got away".
