      Hi there! Thanks for the comment. Because you like to post comments on almost all my videos you are really helping out by telling the UA-cam algorithm to share my video. Engagement is awesome so thanks and have a great day! Oh, and thanks for watching my video, it also really helps.
      EDIT: I almost forgot to thank you for being a subscriber for the last 4 years! That is amazing and really helps my channel grow. Thanks again.

    I just wanted to pop in and say that we both had Niro EVs for a while and your channel was a great source of information. I picked up an EV6 GT a few months ago and your videos maaaay have helped convince me. I didn't need the horsepower of the GT but who really does? 😁

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  Місяць тому +1

      😆. I am glad my channel could of help. The GT is awesome, but I really need the full range of the GT-Line because of my company and the work I do, otherwise you can bet you a$$ that I would have a GT 😎

    I love the long take at 8:26 ! The video quality has improved a lot, well done 💪

      Thank you very much. This video still mixes some older video clips with the new format (that you pointed out), but my next video is 100% new format and has a segment that shows and explains one of the biggest changes happening to the channel. Stay tuned, things are going to keep getting better from here 😎.

    Great video, André. The Lectron V2L adapter looks like a handy device. Your demos here are practical and amusing at the same time (fellow coffee princess here🙋🏻‍♂️).
    This is also *very* smoothly edited. I like the new intro music and the smooth ducking of it as you begin your presentation. The transitions between scenes and the audio and videography here are on point. Great collection and use of B-roll as well.
    The bloopers had me. The power bar being switched off I can't even 😂 (I would do EXACTLY the same thing myself)
    Happy subscriber here. Keep up the great work and great content. I very much enjoy your approach.

      Thank you very much, I am glad you like this video. It is a partial step towards what is coming. Not all parts were filmed with the new format since I had the clips of the Ioniq 6 and EV9 from a few months ago. Stay tuned because future videos are only going to be better, and the next video has a clip explaining why they are getting better 😎

    « Sti de niaiseux » LOL, ne soyez pas si dur avec vous-même LOL. Vos vidéos sont super André, je suis un nouveau fan et les bloopers à la fin sont hilarants 😂, quelle bonne idée! Keep up the good work!

      Merci beacoup de vous être abonné à ma chaîne, j'apprécie vraiment. En 2019, après ma première vidéo sur les Tuxmat, j'ai décidé de mettre les bloopers à la fin de chaque video et ça semble être très populaire. Je suis heureux que vous avez aimé ça, et merci encore 😎

      Looking forward to hearing about the changes to your channel. (Bought a few things that you have reviewed.) I always enjoy your honest, well thought out content. I have the OEM V2L adapter that I bought in early 2022 for my Ioniq 5. Would have been happy to spend less for a smaller form factor as I think I've only used it once.

    Nice video, we can see the EVolution from the past. Gratz! 🙂
    We just bought a Kia Niro EV 2024 Wind+. The middle one. We're loving it!
    I know the higher class one (Wave model) comes with a V2L adapter. But what if I just buy one for my model ? Will that work ?
    I suppose it wont work. And probably only a software thing. It's a shame. :-)
    Merci encore pour ces vidéos de qualité et divertissants! :-)

      Thak you very much. Félicitations pour votre nouveau Niro EV. Je suis pas mal certain que l'ensemble des Niro EV ont la fonction V2L, mais seulement pas l'adaptateur. Si vous êtes sur la Rive Sud de Montréal on pourrais essayer avec mon adaptateur Kia pour confirmer.

    Do you know if we have this functionality available on the 2023 Nissan Aryia?

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  11 днів тому

      I have not reviewed the Ariya yet, but from the quick Google search I did, the Ariya does not offer V2L. It indicates V2H and V2G, but that won't let you do what I show in this video with Kia, Hyundai and Genesis vehicles.

    Your comment about being "grounded" made me think... if the appliance had a fault and leaked to ground/earth, where would that ground connection go? Would it make the body of the car live/hot?
    I imagine that's why it wouldn't get CE certification, and would apply to the Kia original device too

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  Місяць тому +1

      Neither the Lectron or Kia V2L adapter will ground to the body and cause an issue. The car's V2L technology accounts for the situation. I don't have the technical details, but I am pretty sure Kia/Hyundai/Genesis would not cause a situation that could electrocute the owners of these EVs 😎

    • @mikehedrick6544
      @mikehedrick6544 Місяць тому +3

      @@EV-olutionNow that this is brought up, I wonder if a ground fault adapter test would cause the power to shut off for either adapter?

    • @roundel52
      @roundel52 Місяць тому +1

      @@mikehedrick6544 Good point. My thought really was "what would happen (both to the appliance and the car) if an appliance leaked to "ground", as the car isn't grounded, being insulated by four mounds of rubber.

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  Місяць тому

      Good questions. I am unsure as I have not tested that feature. I have made the V2L trip from drawing too much current (in my full V2L test video from 2022). I don't have a GFI tester though.

    It seems very odd that the charge port door keeps attempting to close when this V2L adapter is plugged in but not on.
    The door stays open whenever a charger is plugged in even when not charging.
    Does this happen with the Kia adapter when plugged in but not switched on ?

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  Місяць тому +3

      Since the Lectron adapter does not have an on/off button that you can press, like the original adapter, which tells the car it is plugged in, if the Lectron does not have something plugged into it, pressing the little switch in the middle, then the car does not know there is something plugged in. A charging station "talks" to the car to let the car know it is connected to the charging cable even if it is not charging.

    • @Kiwidaedong
      @Kiwidaedong Місяць тому

      Does the Kia V2L adapter behave the same way if plugged into the charge port and not switched on ?

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  Місяць тому +3

      The Kia adapter has the on/off button to engage V2L, so if you press the button and turn it on, regardless of whether there is something connected, the port door will not close. I have not tested, but I am pretty confident that turning it off will make the car unaware that the adapter is connected, like the Lectron, and the port door will try to close.

    whats the output voltage and watts for Canada models? Here in Europe it's 3600W, so you could easily plug like 3 of the vacuum cleaners there.

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  Місяць тому

      In Canad it is half of the European version. 1800W and 15A. You can learn about the details and limits in my Kia V2L full test video here: ua-cam.com/video/kRkTO3d470M/v-deo.html

    • @Snerdles
      @Snerdles Місяць тому +2

      It's limited to 15A in both locations. In the EU it's 240@15A or 3600, in NA it's 120@15A like our standard house plugs, so only 1800 watts.
