My cousin & her husband had one a long time ago. Theirs was a Limited, green exterior, black interior with wood trim. I've ridden in it & it was very comfy.
My biggest complaint about this vehicle is the lack of power very slow other than that it's really designed in a way to be able to accomplish a lot of things and in comfort so overall I like it. I just wish there was a cheap way to add a modification or tune it up just to have a little bit more power cuz it is really slow it's a pretty big drawback actually but I would recommend the four freestyle for everything else it has to offer
@chevymonte1 The Freestyle isn't exactly small. You see, it was based off the same platform as the Ford Five Hundred (predecessor to the current Taurus), Ford's full-size car at the time, so it was actually notably larger than that car. When it was released, it was larger than the Explorer, but smaller than the Expedition.
These cars were comfy as hell, powerful (for a family car) and had many great features at the time they came out. BUT as soon as they hit 5 years of usage they began have really serious reliability issues. Specially with the transmission. It was really sad to get rid of it but paying 5k for repairs that were likely to come back after 1 or 2 years was no business.
@@american_patriot1776 This particular model came with a 6-Speed Automatic. A more conventional transmission. Prone to less problems due to not having multiple gears.
@@seanreviewscars you are probably right, after all the Freestyle was essentially an SUV version of the 500. Same interior, different body frame different trans.
For how cheap and easy to find these things are, it surprises me there's not more on the road! Seems like a steal considering most of them I see are less than 10k now!
We might be getting one and HOPEFULLY in the near future!!! HAHAHA someone honked back. I love the freestyle. I don't expect much but what is the tow rating on this car?
Hey Kyle, I love your videos. I have just one question. Do you travel all around or just in your local area. Thumbs up for the awesome work and keep these videos coming.
when they did the 2008 model year, they facelifted it and changed the name to Taurus X, and the Five Hundred became the Taurus. basically the same exact thing just updated
If I may make a suggestion, for the vehicles on sale on your family's lot, in addition to discussing the performance, you may want to note the mileage numbers (given the price of gas these days, that's always helpful to know). :)
At the point of my life to where I can’t care about the leather seats , though they Are Sweettt🔥 It’s gotta be about reliability for me . I’ve had 2-3 ford explorers now . They get me when I need to go even at a cheap price . God bless ford 🥂
probably from idling so long, you can reset the average mpg with a button on the steering wheel and let it average out, or reset while cruising downhill and watch it climb to 99.9
I have one they are ok . But a Bear to fix when they break down, I only got mine because right place right time and it was cheap. But would I stand in line for one NO. would it be my original pick NO. Just desperate at the time better than no vehicle at all
You did get the freestyle in Canada, but like in the US it was renamed the Taurus X and later replaced with the Ford Flex. Not an aweful lot were made, but I own one and I can tell you they are really nice XUV's..
@saabkyle04 haha, are you going to do an outtakes/bloopers video? =) I remember you closed the boot on your tie while filming the Prowler. You have to make a bloopers video if you still have those clips! =)
@carsaregood911 it basically allows air to "flow" in between your clothes / skin and the seat so you dont have that "sticky"-situation in the sommer when you sweat all over the place and stick to the seat at the end of a long drive.
@carsaregood911 There are far better chance to not stick to the seats when those are perforated but perforations are also used in cars which have heated/vented seats. That´s the easiest way to get the warm/cool air through them
i love the horn 1:16 and u got a driver to honk their horn to lol
1:06 gotta love that 3.0 Duartec v6❤️👏🏼
Damn! The car driving by at 7:02 has seen better days.
Barmer!
7:02
It was replaced with the Taurus X in 2008 discontinued after 2009, was replaced by the Flex which also replaced the Windstar.
The Ford Flex probably replaced the Ford Freestar instead of the Windstar.
I think the Freestar replaced the Windstar.
@@lanaarmstrong8943
Aerostar -> Windstar -> Freestar - > Freestyle -> Taurus X -> Ford Flex -> Ford Transit Connect.

Great car! My dad bought one in 05 and it has almost 189,000 miles and is just now having problems.
My dad has an 06 and it is nothing but trouble. I am going to put it out of its misery this summer.
Love the freestyle!
This is my favourite car. The only car on the market that can play vinyl records as far as I’m aware.
Huh??
What?
Is this like an inside joke or something?
the engine on the 2005-2007 Ford Freestyle
Engine
3.0 L Duratec 30 V6
this car is like a dream car.
This Freestyle is cute despite the negative reviews about the transmission again well done King Kyle
Yup. My dads is an 06 with the cvt. Its horrible.
that was the best in depth review i have ever seen thanks
i think i'm in love with this car. I wonder why ford stopped making freestyles!
I have a freestyle there really good cars. I love mine it has a lot of space too
Awwww! the only thing that this car is missing is navigation and wood trim, brings back memories, to see this car and to hear the chimes!
Kyle I remember when you had 5,000 subs I was there! U do so well like if u agree
Daddy D you can’t agree if you’ve been here since 5k subscribers. It’s a fact, not opinion.
nate correct I think they are just trying to farm for likes
The horn back is unpayable! :D
Thanks for sharing, Kyle.
Best car ever
2006 Ford Freestyle SEL, 82,758 miles

you are great detail from that freestyle and showing everything
the 2005-2007 Ford Freestyle was assembled in
Chicago, Illinois, United States
That engine would do nice on these Cali streets 💪🏼
just got this car to day and it rides pretty smooth
this my Car and i loveeeee, soo coool, nice video
The interior is very similar to that of my 2005 Mercury Montego. These cars weren't all that powerful but they definitely have a ton of room.
So useful truly . On every level for me .
I miss these videos
decent car my mom drives the taurus x, which is pretty much the same thing. thanks for this!

Wow, Ford has come a long way.
esse carro e muito firme.... gostei pra caramba.... se tivesse aqui no Brasil seria uma nota
I'm not sure why, but damn. I like this thing...
Great review Kyle...
You should do a test drive. It would be interesting to hear what a V6 sounds like through a CVT.
Yup. My dads sounds like its supercharged

The transmission issue is bc its a cvt.

@@dylanbelgioso7942 Might have it confused with the Taurus X, the Freestyle was only offered with the CVT.

1:16 kyle honks, then person honks back!

I found a cheap one 2005, but it had a list of issues and Im not sure if the its going to worth it or not. Really nice looking car.
This car was known as the Freestyle from 2005-2007 and was classified as a crossover. It took the name Taurus X from 2008-2009.
Nice Shelby that drove by
I really like the Freestyle. Wonder why the "Older Dealership Clip" could be older but still show this car out front?
For how cheap and easy to find these things are, it surprises me there's not more on the road! Seems like a steal considering most of them I see are less than 10k now!
In the beginning the guy honked back lol
Took A While For Me To Scroll Down To This.
We might be getting one and HOPEFULLY in the near future!!! HAHAHA someone honked back. I love the freestyle. I don't expect much but what is the tow rating on this car?
lol someone honked back hahaha
KILLING IN THE NAME OF!!!!!!! my band does a kickass cover of that song.

@water0x00
Its limited to 3100 in nutral so it does not damage the torque converter

it looks nice :), great video kyle
Thanks for the website. :)
The Freestyle was essentially the station wagon version of the Ford Five Hundred.
SABADO GIGANTE gave away TWO of these in their X-mas 2004 special.
When you honked, somebody honked at you back. lol
I'm so confused as to which freestyles come with the sunroof and which ones come with the DVD player.
Is that the successor to the Taurus wagon?
Love that song!! haha
Sweet but can you do a video on the new 2011 explorer.By the way I love your videos
Nice car
This car is classsssssssyyyyyyy
you should make a series of decent first cars. you know low mileage low priced dependable cars for someones first..just an idea

@moparismore agreed it sounds exactly like a leafblower, or even a loud fan.
One more thing can you do that Gmc safari or astaro van in the backround.
can you do the Ford Escape
Doug Demura brought me here. What the HELL is a Freestyle? I don't think we ever got these in Canada. Looks like an Escape wagon.

Pls how much can I get one of this car
Dude this vid is 5 times longer than it should have been.
then don't watch it ever again.
Pls can I use it for transportation
is this supposed to be a wagon, crossover or suv? i always see these on the road and get confused. nice cars tho.
It kinda reminds me of the previous model Cadillac srx. I couldn't tell if it too was a wagon, crossover, or SUV.
where do you put the cord at to use Aux ?
Yea
Kyle, can you review the car at 6:59 in this vid?
ThreeRiversRC envoy?
Nice car! But I prefer more modern Taurus X
And this vehicle has veeeery beauty gold pearlscent metallic
Can you do a 2008 Taurus X?

Go ahead bust the freestyle coz its been a mdafaking while!!!
@porsche911sbs wow i never knew that. ive actually only ever seen one of these once... their rare around here....
Can you do a newer ford tarus wagon
Would this be an SUV or a station wagon or both?
Suv. It's actually the suv version of the ford five hundred.
kyle can you do a 2011 nissan rogue
como le hago para aplicar aceite de transmision a un carro como este?
@carsaregood911 yes it works :)
Rip 2005-2007;2008-2009
Call me crazy, but did anyone else hear someone on the road beep back at Kyle when he blew the horn?
JoePug249 yeah
My Sister Kayla had 2005 Ford Freestyle
test drive?
I like this ok
can I have it my Catholic converter is clog on my freestyle
This car has a CVT transmission, which IMO ruins the whole car. They are the absolute worst transmissions out there IMO
Mine has failed twice
But the Taurus x didn't use the use the cvt, it used the General Motors/Ford 6 speed automatic transmission.
