From the very first notes of this Brahms music conducted by Kent Nagano, I knew that Kent Nagano is one of the the greatest Brahms interpreters of all time. I just wonder how he managed to get the musicians to play the Brahms music with such poetic singing phrasing. This interpretation of the Brahms Serenade proves how all other conductors simply do not have enough talent for Brahms. The pure, crystalline and airy sound, the musical phrasing of each instrument and the balance between the different instruments demonstrate Kent Nagano's ability to mesmerize an orchestra to play a heavenly music that so played can only be heard in heaven. The entire orchestra is a group of individual, first-class musicians who play together in musical purity and technical perfection like no one has heard before Last, but not least the sound engineer on this recording also made a significant contribution to the sound of this recording. Schon bei den ersten Tönen dieser Brahms-Musik unter der Leitung von Kent Nagano wusste ich, dass Kent Nagano einer der größten Brahms-Interpret aller Zeiten ist.
