Motivation has nothing to do with nobility of an action(Btw, It is Crusch's line). And it's not like you can be unselfish, that goes against the nature of a human. But at the very least you can be honest with yourself and Subaru is on that way. Btw, I actually do love, that Subaru wasn't able to get over his hatred towards Julius that fast. That is realistic.

It was completely cut from the anime and the director seens to do his best for it to not be perceived as such in both seasons but subaru actually has noticed that he loves both emilia and rem equally, so yeah while some are team rem and others r team emilia subaru actually has been team both all this time

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, ( I have not read many comments from the previous episodes). Julius beat up Subaru for his sake. Julius is highly skilled and was able to beat up Subaru without killing or leaving lasting damage to him. this was done in a public setting, ( for other knights to see), so others would think that he has received proper punishment for his disrespectful comments regarding 'Knights". Julius was afraid that less experienced knights may seek retribution against Subaru and potentially kill him in a non duel situation. P.S. i have not watched the anime in quite a while but have recently read the light novel. did the anime mention that AL, (Pricilla's Knight), was from "Beyond the Falls"? I figured that would be a significant point to leave out in the adaptation...
Yeah they keep forgetting how fucking powerful Emilia is. Especially since in the following episodes she can 1v1 a finger/Petelgeese since Petelgeese has the same strength in both his body and his fingers body

I feel sad for these people that think they know Rezero when making claims such as Emilia is a damsel in distress. They feel like they know $hi+ but they don't understand the depths that these characters have. Rezero in my personal opinion is not your run of the mill average anime with bland and predictable characters. I hope people will one day start giving this show and it's characters some more credit instead of questioning their choices. Cause these characters are as real as any can get.

And currently Emilia technically isn't as strong as in arc 4 and onward since she doesn't know her power and has to hold back too due to her memories being locked. I think Reinhard made Emilia's accomplishment of holding back Elsa for around 5 minutes seem like nothing but since most people don't understand Reinhards power they just undermine it

It's so cruel that he keeps stringing Rem along and using her and just giving her tiny little breadcrumbs of praise to keep her helping him. The fact that he has tunnel vision sights set on Emilia makes it so much worse. Especially since nearly everything he has ever done in this series has been either with the help of, because of, or adjacent to REM... and Emilia is nowhere to be found for half the series and doesn't do a damn thing. Hell, she not only isn't in love with him.. she doesn't even comprehend that he's in love with her. Rem straight up confessed to him and spends every waking moment helping him. There is flat out no comparison.. Emilia is trash. Rem is adorable. Patrasche and Petra are best girls. (if you don't count Roswaal or Felix)
