This doesn't have to deal with her, but i noticed in that season, (I had the captions on because i don't want to play it too loud, cause i watched it late at night) whenever there would be *sirens in the distance* that meant something bad was going to happen soon. I started to notice that only by the last episode XD
Mithrilwen in this season when it comes to Shachath, death is indeed peaceful when people called her. She is present for all deaths of course but the peaceful music plays when she is summoned to end someone's life willingly.
I'd honestly rethink that if I were you. Because if you've noticed, she doesn't appear anywhere else in the death scenes unless they were the result of the most horrific torturous life you could ever imagine. A life where simply being alive was worse than death. Slowly decaying, caged in your own suffering. The Asylum of life's misery. Where only death's compassion can save you. Incredibly well written series. The symbols are incredibly vivid. She was visiting the Asylum residents, and even followed Lana after she was taken from the Asylum's physical hold to be held captive physically to be abused, where she was given a chance at peace, but refused in order to fight for her chance at life. Highlighting the idea that there are always instances where death is more merciful than life, it's not simply black and white where death is seen as someone who steals life, but gifts death.

To be visited by the angel of death herself...... the situation for her to visit you as a mercy would have to be nearly no chances of survival with any potential of happiness. There are some out there who have encountered her and refused, and more that encounter her and say yes. Some say she is terrible and horrifying, others say radiant and wonderful. I encountered her as a kindly old woman, similar to Frances Conroy’s portrayal. She will come again, I think, when it’s next my turn to receive a kiss.

I pray every day for the release of death. Waking up every day is a burden so heavy I can’t find the words to accurately describe it. I have an incurable and chronic yet not terminal illness that causes wide spread full body pain 24/7 that only the strongest of pain killers can control (on a good day) I suffer with PTSD, major depression and crippling anxiety. My life is non existent. I can’t work or go to school and most days struggle to get out of bed. All I can do is sit and dwell on the darkness in my life. I recently lost my support animal to a unprecedented rare form of stroke and now I am truly alone. I think of all these people that die whether by illness or tragic accident and can’t help but wish it was me. All of these people that actually want to live and have so much to live for that lose their lives and then there’s me, a miserable useless waste of space that gets to live another day.
Hey Emily, I know you posted this a year ago but I hope In the year since this comment you have found something that has brought joy to your life again. I know the feeling of envying those who get to go before you. The mind is a crazy beautiful thing and like the weather it can change, one day it will be gloomy and dark but eventually the wind will find you and blow the clouds away allowing you to feel the sun again.
