All thats missing for customization, is the option to change beam colors for melee and ranged weapons, firing effects, and thruster colors. And then it will be truly perfect.
One more idea for customization, mirror arms (Example Like sword strike since it only had the sword strike shoulder on one side, it would be nice if we can had it on both side or other side instead.)
The combat absolutely much closer to GB3, Thank God. Going back to racking combos to increase chance of parts breaking, and vice versa, instead of every parts having their own rudimentary HP that instantly detach when said HP gone is amazing. More skill-based, less "your only weapon is Atomic Bazooka". Also about customization language barrier definitely an issue lol. Seeing the JP Gundam Twitter they able to do amazing (and cursed) stuff with it but also, when I look at the option tabs when you scroll through them on stream, they all look VERY close to NGB's, especially in painting and part adjustment, and one thing that NGB do right IS how easy to understand and use the customization options are.
i was digging around and it said Dec 31, 2024 as the earliest release date they're trying to hype us up and let us down again edit: probably releasing in mid 2025
😂 They sure didn’t. Just spent a few hours playing the network test. This is just NGB 2 with some slight tweaks instead of what it should have been, GB 3 with some slight tweaks. Nothing like a developer mildly modifying a version of a game which most fans loathed, rather than improving based on the versions the fans loved. Ya hate ta see it! 😢
Wasn’t sure how hyped I should be after how much of an abortion NGB was - am now feeling quite reassured. I’ve got a couple of small gripes with changes they’ve made to the gameplay formula and I think the graphics actually look a touch worse than GB3 (likely a consequence of this being on the Switch) but the customisation looks greatly improved and the core essence of the gameplay seems to be intact. Looking forward to the full release.
So the combat system is a bit more restricted than GB3 in terms of how EX skills and options have to work. I'm a little deflated by that, but I still look forward to the game for the escalated customization options... and combat restrictions can bring out their own form of fun. This just means that if I want to go on an absolutely balls-to-the-wall every-weapon-available combo, an everything-everywhere-all-at-once 80+ funnel storm, or a ZERO-system-tier psychotic rampage on a single enemy using stunlocking missile barrage after stunlocking missile barrage without a chance for the enemy to land and regain their footing, it's probably going to be GB3 for me, because all that's readily achievable there with just option use rather than here, evidently.
Well, can't suspect that they would have just made GB3-2. That said, not sure what can be possible in GB4, especially since there's the whole 2-weapon thing.
I'm pretty hype, but I still do have some concerns. Namely, how will they make non dual wield builds good? Because it feels like right now you get gimped for not using dual wield. The missions were pretty bare bones, they made Gundam Breaker 3's missions look "deep." And they were basic as hell. ...I miss Gundam Breaker 2 style missions.
I think the only thing I’m not too keen on is the shared cool-down for option weapons but that could be just due to how they were in GB3. Makes me wonder if funnels only attack once like they did in NGB or they keep attacking until the need to recharge like in GB3. Plus each option having their own cooldowns was cool cause I could launch so many different funnels/fangs/bits/etc at once but doesn’t seem like that will be possible here unless all the remote weapons were linked to a single option weapon button
are there "skills" on the parts? Like gb3 you could merge parts and give skills like reduce cooldowns and extra hp to different parts. i hope that system is back
Yeah you have skills attached to parts like G-self arms allow a melee combo. While F-91 chest would allow for the M.E.B.E mode, so it allows interesting skill mix ups .
@@Gamegod02 That's option equipment/EX skills, the OP meant the passive skills from GB3 like "+15% to damage when in Aiming Mode", that you could transfer to other parts by Merging them together - and the # of slots for passive skills was determined by the item's Quality rank (rarity). As for the question, I did see that parts still have quality ranks of 1-6? stars, but I have no confirmation if that just increases the item's stats, or if they're bringing back the passives. The Network Test didn't seem to have options in the part menu for "Merge" or "Develop" that we *can* see for a few frames in the official trailers, so it seems this functionality was disabled for the beta - but whether the merging in GB4 is the same as in GB3 and includes those passives, we have yet to see.
@@Bakecrusto They most likely will allow merging of parts and whatnot. The network test wouldn't even let us level up the parts but we know that's a feature in GB3. As for passive stats, the more stars aka higher rarity, the more passive skills you get. That much I can confirm from the network test, used my phone for translation. Just from what I played and learned, I can tell the customization for gameplay will be super deep, I look forward to the release to create crazy gunpla builds.
Seiji, while you've never had a chance to play NGB, and I'd never want to subject someone to such a bad game on the whole... I would ask that if you can get your hands on a copy, to just load up mission 1, and move around. You don't even have to fight/Play further, I just ask people load up NGB, and MOVE... I guarantee that alone will convey how bad NGB is in general.
Honestly, it looks a lot like GB3. Nothing too new graphically and gameplay wise. One thing I hate about all GB console games is the EX skills. I really liked the cinematic EX skills of GB Mobile. Colony drop was so fun for clearing mobs.
Ok, you did answer a big question I had and that was which Gundam series are represented, now I just hope the Heavyarms EW Custom is in it because I have a ridiculous mix of Heavyarms and Guntank that I want to build
This is disappointing to me. Your footage has shown me that Gundam Breaker 3's combat system for handling EX and Option weapons & abilities is vastly superior to Gundam Breaker 4's setup. I understand that the game is greatly improved from New Gundam Breaker. However, from what I can see, the combat mechanics that were displayed in this video are a downgrade from Gundam Breaker 3's mechanics. This makes me think they didn't get the Gundam Breaker 3 team involved for this game. Very frustrating.
Update for anyone reading this. I just now cross-checked Gundam Breaker 4's Steam page with New Gundam Breaker's Steam page. I have unfortunately discovered that the developer making Gundam Breaker 4 is the same company that made New Gundam Breaker. I fear for us all.
i fear the same - gb3 gameplay feels a lot smoother than any of the gb4 footage i've managed to catch online so far. but it does look a lot better than NGB by a mile (same developer notwithstanding).
@@deekybird "but it does look a lot better than NGB by a mile (same developer notwithstanding)." I 100% agree. That's exactly why I haven't lost all hope just yet. I’m curious but are there cinematic EX-Skills like the ones in Mobile? I’m talking about stuff like the Lupus Rex’s Tail Blade, the Astraea Type-F2’s Trans-Am Rampage and the Aerial’s Escutcheon where they “grab” an enemy and whale on them with the associated part or the suit’s entire arsenal. GB3 had some like say Gusion Rebake Backpack that had an Optional attack to grab and punch the enemy. It didn't do much damage but it was hilarious towatch
'downward helm breaker'? as in GB3 that'd been holding triangle while in mid air when wielding a beamsaber . . . possibly holding the attack button of your Beamsaber while in mid air?
When I played on the last day (after recording this script) I was using a beam saber and a heat hawk and I did the downward attack by doing 2 hits with my saber and then pressing my axe, so it might be the same input even with two beam sabers as in two hits in the air with one weapon and then one hit with your other one

Assuming you mean the global cooldown (you still have 8 option slots, you switch the 2 sets of 4 slots each with Dpad) My best guess is they wanted to alleviate the need to optionmax instead of using the parts you like, but I don't like this outcome at all - and it seems it's one of 2 issues absolutely *everyone* is complaining about, alongside "single-wielding a 1-handed weapon is very gimping", so here's to hoping they change it. The option part GCD should honestly be a simple fix, since I won't believe they never tested and workshopped the "classic" CD approach, so that system should definitely still be in the code, and I'll be very disappointed if they don't change that.
can you make one hand or I guess more like single weapons into dual wield weapons? like I guess an example that you could apply from what ya told here, for example have two of Nu's beam sabers equiped?
You can! I actually did that exact thing on stream with two Nu beam sabers BUT you need two copies. So you’re not exactly making one part into a dual wield but just equipping one of the same part in each hand.
To be honest this game is confusing at the first look since im used to the gundam breaker 2 formula of being able to have alot of skills and the attack stuff
Animations feel kinda weak honestly, specially the "taking damage" ones. Wish they were less musou/beat them up and we had some matched combat to spice up.
@@Bakuganluver23 With a roster of a bit over 250 units on release (compared to GB3's 150, not sure how many NGB added), I assume we're getting New Gundam Breaker's full roster plus however many to get to 250 / GB3's full lineup plus 100. With 5 DLCs already confirmed on top of that, we'll see what the total list will be before and after the DLCs - some new units whose parts you can see in teasers/trailers include Aerial (from G-Witch), Legilis (from AGE), G-Self Perfect Pack (from G-Reco) and Graze (from IBO), but they're clearly holding off on revealing most of the new units.
@@Bakecrusto One trailer does show a Leo getting smashed with the EW Gundam Deathscythe about 16 seconds in so one would assume its parts are usable. Aerial & Graze are new but Legilis & G-Self Perfect Pack were in NGB among several others like Gundam Zabanya & Harute so if 4 is taking the entire NGB list they should be included as well. There were some suits that were oddly missing from NGB though like Seravee & Raphael from 00 for example. Wonder if at least some of those missing units will be in.
It's fundamentally an offline campaign game with up to 3 man team co-op option, but even the network test let you play singleplayer - so the same as GB3.

Does the game have online co-op?
Yea it's 3 player coop
is it only online? or is there a story mode?
There may be a distinct divide between both,, if I'm being honest.
It's fundamentally an offline campaign game with up to 3 man team co-op option, but even the network test let you play singleplayer - so the same as GB3.
You can play either single player or online with up to 2 other people
Meh, Ive got Armord Core 6 with Gundam mods so 8m satisfied for now😂
Please be cross play!!!
Sigh japan with their ragion lock🙄
how about... learn Japanese? I promise its going to be fun
It looks really cheap.
The fighting looks so lame imo you just spam attacks juggling enemies and that unicorn boss fight you barely took any damage
Lame compared to what games excactly?
you should practice turning lock on off and on throughout a fight like devil may cry
“im so fucking jealous” lmao
