Eventually this failure has something to do with the padlock used, namely a large sturdy ABUS one made from stainless steel.
It works only with few padlocks. It doesn’t work with padlocks that use ball bearings and it basically doesn’t work if there are latches on two sides instead of only one latch.
@@Corathor Very few have spring loaded levers. Those with ball bearings, and those with levers that are physically blocked when key is not turned, will not fail from shock. Maybe walmart has some like that. Some marine grade locks are still vulnerable, as their primary purpose is safety, such as lockout/tagout, and hazardous enclosures. The lock is strictly a safety device in some applications, and reliability of opening with the key after sitting outside for 10+ years is paramount.

It’s not that locksmiths don’t want to teach people how to open locks, it’s because they have professional ethics. You put it on the Internet and let people learn it, but you don’t know if he will steal it. The lock is to make every family safe, and it’s not safe for everyone to know.
I disagree. I think lock security should be treated exactly like computer security. The locks featured here have clear vulnerabilities that can be prevented. Lock makers that still produce these locks rely on consumer ignorance. Raising awareness is the only way to get consumers to avoid poor locks. These locks can have a purpose in securing inexpensive material (clothes, generic documents, etc), but should never be used for high security (guns, computers, jewelry). This video helps raise awareness that flawed locks are still in common usage and consumers need to learn of these flaws so they know what to look for.
I would build a shed door that has padlock on other side and visible hinges on other side. But lock and hinges would be fake and door would have real hinges on lock side and it would open inside. You would only lift simple bolt with credit card or ruler. No keyhole or doorknob. Just push.

Or try Abloy PL340 High Security Padlock
@@Justusosaa LockPickingLawyer will open that no problem. He picked an Abloy 341 Enforcer in under 3 minutes.
@@blazera7328 yes but LPL ain't a tool you can just pull out to pick a lock with.
Lol do you think British locks have some sort of prestige or something?
Pathetic
Got a 4" grinder and a cutting wheel?
Just the video for a gd theif to watch! But, also good for people who actually attempt to use these useless locks too.
Very good idea
Why not nippers or bolt clippers?
I know the hammer and wrench method isn't a bad idea in an emergency.
Excellent 👌
Video went from useful to absurd at 1:30. So many easier ways than milling off the end of the lock and removing the pins. Like... bolt cutters.
😅 PSA FROM A LOCKSMITH..WE would like to tell you not to use cheap ass locks as they use in this video.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME 🙏😂😂😂😂
Muy valiosa la enseñanza para los ladrones !!!
o PARA QUE EL FABRICANTE SEA MENOS INCOMPETENTE NO?
Thank you for showing us ways to open the lock in an emergency
there are easier ways. look up lock picking lawyer

I tried the padlock-opening-trick-with-a hammer in the 1st clip-presentation - and it failed COMPLETELY, be it like holding the padlock in one hand like shown or even on an anvil! Eventually this failure has something to do with the padlock used, namely a large sturdy ABUS one made from stainless steel.
It works only with few padlocks.
It doesn’t work with padlocks that use ball bearings and it basically doesn’t work if there are latches on two sides instead of only one latch.
watch the lockpicking lawyer. SOME locks have this vulnerability, but not all of them.
The lock is strictly a safety device in some applications, and reliability of opening with the key after sitting outside for 10+ years is paramount.
you teach thieves their business well
0:19 Bruh, nice trolling. 😂😂😂
Nice. But compare withe LPL results
How about a video for laminated steel cased locks?
For those of you saying why not just use bolt cutters because obviously if you use bolt cutters you couldn't put the lock back together the first couple ways he shows you to unlock a lock you can relock it and no one would be the wiser
My favorite customer is the one who asks for a cheap but good lock.
There's no such thing.
It's either cheap or it's good.
Random gestures at the bottom of a lock. Do something. It opens.
Just push.
Gracias por los tips!!! Soy ladrón y a veces se me cruzan unos candados !!😂
I can't figure out how I'm going to get the storage building door into my vise so I can start filing the side of the "superior quality" lock...
🇺🇸
Sadly i'm not interested in entering old sheds or basement shacks.....
Thanks a lot! My new enemy is a bank xd😁😁😁
You won't be able put it in g clamp if on something lol 😆 look pretty odd too , easier bolt croppers n get new lock those type lol
How do you open a pad lock where the key goes in the face of the lock? I have one I lost the key to and don't want to destroy.
AJ W
Check lockpickinglawyers channel, search lock type and check where to start. There isn't literally lock you cannot pick.
If it's cheap padlock, redbull can and scissors would help.. if doesn't, try something else. If it's Abloy and you are asking like that questions, sorry, don't waste your time.. :D
@@jannejohansson3383 Tried the redbull thing. No luck. I have tried a few different things. No luck. It is a hard one.
Did you look on LPL's channel for that make and model?
This video helped me understand the structure of the key. And also how secure it may be.
Interesting. I think, it must exist one Way to force open this Lock in Emergency Situations.
Tried the hammer method on Master padlock. Doesn't work
Yep 90% (being kind) or more of all locks are #2 or poo. LPL showed me that.
LSOs.
Lock Shaped Objects.
And what don't locksmiths want you to know? That you can destroy locks with cutting/drilling/jemmying tools?
Burglars don't want you to know THIS: don't buy cheap shite locks
Locks keep opportunistic/ honest people out. If you want to get in you will.
