- In this video, we show you how effective a combination of iron powder and super glue is when doing repairs. Using iron powder when filling or repairing any gap is very effective and powerful. In fact, the use of iron powder is even more effective than baking soda. Repairs made with iron powder are even harder than steel. Watch this video to learn these mechanic tips and tricks.
Just repaired a broken metal frame from a pair of eyeglasses with graphite (from an ordinary pencil) and superglue. Takes a bit longer until it is hardened (about 30 minutes), but it's hard like stone now and the glue joint seems as strong as welded! Absolutely fantastic!
try mixing baking soda and graphite together, mix well then add the superglue n u get instant, insanely hard bonds

Ничего необычного. Это используется уже лет 40 (а может быть и больше). Есть холодная сварка, можно смешать эпоксидную смолу с железными опилками. Nothing unusual. This has been used for 40 years (maybe more). There is cold welding, you can mix epoxy with iron filings.

Aplico esta mistura no objecto a reparar e pingo alguma cola molecular, mas certifico-me de que não se espalha.

You can gets the iron dust from warm bag that people warm hands in winrer.
I think you can just use plain old resin for all of these applications, and maybe a bit of powder into it to make it more resilliant, like they do with carbon fiber and glass fibers

I knew about the baking soda hack, but not about using iron filings with superglue! But why not, manufacturers have been adding metal powder to epoxy glue for years.

Он совсем не термостойкий 100град предел. если только не надолго.
@@Jonbraunful так ему даже вытечь некуда, если раковина глухая. Я с эпоксидкой мешал, заделывал раковины выходящие в окна охлаждения. Про результат не в курсе.

Be sure to wear gloves, sealed eye protection and a respirator/mask etc to prevent inhalation. When powders are down to the micron levels, they tend to float in the air like cigarette smoke.
I think you just 'invented' JB weld. Or at least the base of what would become JB weld. Im sure the offical JB weld product has a few refinements over mixed glue and metal filings.
The baking soda works like the catalyst of some kind and also as the filler. Using any glue and adding any filller allows to make the strongest joins . It is like to prepare the concrete.

Das ist wirklich eine gute und simple Idee! Ist jedoch nichts neues, aber dafür sehr einfach effizient! Wir hatte früher so was ähnliches gemacht: Eine Scheibe, eine sehr stabilie Folie auf der einen Seite, darüber, gewickelt und mit starken Band umwickelt, dann in den Schraubstock gespannt und zugedreht. Das hatte natürlich einen höhere Wirkungsgrad.

I am going to try this on an aluminum starter bracket that broke off of a John Deere D105 riding mower. I plan to place a threaded bolt in the spot that’s broken and then put the crazy glue and concrete on top of it.

See a few Superglue n powder vids now. The carbon one was interesting, might have to try this as a low temp metal casting method in silicon mods.
I have, and superglue with anything sticks to silicone unfortunately. Don't ruin your mold. Use resin with carbon, or baking soda. A steel mesh will insure a type of rebar reinforcement. Hope this helps. 🤓

Regarding the bolt that was fixed into the hole with powdered iron and super-glue; if the bolt has some oil on the threads or maybe a wrap of Teflon plumber's tape, then when the iron/glue sets, you can screw the bolt in and out, as the iron/glue will have bonded to the piece of steel, and have threads on the inside of the hole!

Атмосферная вода (пар) будет медленно, но неумолимо разрушать склейку с содой. А вот железный порошок - вы сами видели только что, насколько он прочен. Такая склейка будет оставаться прочной много лет.

Soda is the most unsuitable filler for two reasons: it is fragile, brittle, easily pricked and crushed, and it dissolves in water. Atmospheric water (steam) will slowly but inexorably destroy the bonding with soda. But the iron powder - you've just seen for yourself how durable it is. This bonding will remain strong for many years.

Hasta hoy solo había visto mezclas con bicarbonato y últimamente con grafito ambas tienen lo suyo, pero esta con polvo de acero incluso es exotérmica, lo que indica una fusión inalcanzable para las otras mezclas...
It surprises me that until now I see a video with this mixture, many years ago a Master locksmith with great experience and inventiveness taught it to me. Until today I had only seen mixtures with bicarbonate and lately with graphite, both have their own thing, but this one with steel powder is even exothermic, which indicates a fusion that is unattainable for the other mixtures.
Consider that cyanoacrylate uses water in the bond so it will develope rust with time. Better to make an epoxy putty with metal powder
