I love seeing Tommy more comfortable on camera, you guys have great chemistry. Also, I love the little explanations on the plays you do, really insightful
In french we say "lézarder", which comes from "lézard" (lizard) (the french translation for basking rootwalla, Agame pélerin, has nothing to do with basking unfortunately)
And Broodscale I'm assuming is a nice combinations of the words Brood (meaning spawn of or offspring) and scale (the flakes covering a lizards skin) which makes me wonder if the spawns are flaking off of it's body. And how big is it or are the scions?
I really like it when you explain certain moves you do. I find that I learn something I didn't realize I could do or shouldn't do. And Tommi needs to put some kind of trample and/or flying in that deck. :)
The deck has Sleep of the Dead in the sideboard to tap down potential blockers infinitely, he just decided not to bring it it. Which I can kinda understand too.
This is the best edited pauper gameplay on YT. Fantastic work Tommy, we appreciate your labor. A suggestion, I think Cycle Storm vs Poison Storm would be a very interesting match between you two.
Love the Content and all the paper gameplay has helped me tremendously in top8 ing my first tournament with over 60 people thanks for making these Videos❤❤❤
I loved the little breakdown of mengu's decision making around 3:00, seeing more stuff like that would be awesome tho imagine it would make editing and recording harder.
When I first got my friends into magic we bought a big bulk collection of commons and all built decks with our loose ends, love seeing some pauper gameplay!
Always love the Pauper content! Actually just lost as Jund Glee in this exact matchup in a semifinals, it's always nice to see the combo work, and especially interesting in game 3!
Amazing video and loved the explanations of certain key decisions you guys make. This channel inspired me to record my local LGS pauper games and bring content to this amazing format, can't wait to see what's next in store!
I’ve seen a glee deck at my lgs pauper tournaments but that deck is black/green not JUND, using things like implement of ferocity, snakeskin veil, and Rubblebelt maverick as a way to generate +1/+1 counters extremely cheap and reliably, then using energy refractor to make colors and finally using Thoughtpicker Witch to mill out the opponent. There’s also a side loop using the implement and evolution witness, sacrifice the implement to draw a card and put a counter on the witness, which then returns the implement to hand. The deck is just extremely consistent with starting the loop and board/hand control in black. A lot of people at the store have started side boarding Tresspasser’s Curse in black decks which shuts down the main broodscale combo by draining them for 1 life whenever a creature enters under their control. That way they can’t make infinite scions and it should slow them down long enough to do your own thing.
Great Veedeo, always interesting to see people who know magic play tier 1 decks, especially with the "interview" and the sideboarding explanation! Suggestion: I think the overhead camera could zoom in just a tiny bit more to make the table more legible, right now it's great on my computer screen but a bit too tiny on a phone screen (at least for my eyes).
I appreciate that you explain things as you play. I love MTG Goldfish but something they do is they explain the whole deck in excruciating detail at the start of videos. So I've always gotta skip a handful of minutes in to get to gameplay. I'd rather watch explanations during play or after play.
I hope it doesn’t end like the last time you said that UW Glitters had not banned cards yet, only to see glitters banned the week after 😂 Good video as always, funny and nicely edited!
Alexandre Weber, member of the PFP said that there was no ban at that time because pauper has a different date for bans, so there wouldn’t be any bans anyways. Keep it up the great pauper videos, Mengu and Tommy. I love it and I learn so much from you both. Thank you for the great content! ❤️
i enjoyed the mengu explenation of why he didn’t committed on the glee at game 1, my suggestion is to change a bit the location or the camera angle so it looks more like an “off camera” insight
Can you explain why Tommy didn't attempt to pierce the Deadly Dispute at 19:08 just to get rid of the token? I don't think that Pierce would be of any other value at this stage of the game.
There's also something sweet about casting Delver T1 on the play, your opponent playing a tapland, and then boomeranging their tapland on T2. You're up 2 lands and sometimes have a flipped Delver in play. Feels almost like Delver into wasteland.
The real problem (if there is any) is probably Chrys. It provides a strong sandbag and plan B for Gleezard and is heavily played in other strong decks like Grul Monsters and Ponza.
i play jund glee too and it's fun but i play Snakeskin Veil instead of Vines of Vastwood because i think the +4/+4 isn't that much of help instead of the +1/+1 counter
I don't think keeping spell pierce into an eldrazi deck is a good move. Also, Artful Dodge is a slept on card in this deck sideboard in my opinion, probably the best option against decks with heavy bodies like this one.
As much as I hate the combo, I don’t think cards should be banned just because people don’t like them. It needs to actually damage the game, and there is counter play available in the format to deal with the combo
I dont think its gonna be banned, its definitely very strong but it dies to removal very easily and is relatively slow most of the time. Its not an impossible matchup for many decks but i can see chrysalis getting banned since its just so powerful in the two decks that run it
I am not sure if this is an odd comment, but, Andrea, what language do you think in? Like what language plays in your head when your inner voice tells you what to do when playing a magic game while you are visiting America. I imagine it is sort of a mixed version of both Italian and English. Doubt you'll see this, but your comment around 10:05 made me think of it.
M1G3 at 16:10 - Tommy mental notes to clear away a spell pierce, and then he forgets to draw for turn right? I haven't finished the video yet but it would be a shame if Tommy lost a close one G3 where one more card had a chance of making the difference.
At 11:30, why not play terror? Bluffing Counterspell is horrible here, Glee is dead if they don't draw an out, so they can't play around it anyway. Edit: Also missed drawing a card for the turn at 16:00, only drew the card for mental note. And at 19:55, just play Deem Inferior on Chrysalis and attack, Mengu has to double chump the Terrors and goes to 2 from Delver, I don't see a point in holding Deem Inferior in hand when you can put so much pressure on Mengu to win the game or die next turn, since you pass to an empty board and 3 Lethal creatures, one of them flying(also keep up Spell Pierce, hard for Glee to win in one turn without a lot of mana after all).
I love seeing Tommy more comfortable on camera, you guys have great chemistry. Also, I love the little explanations on the plays you do, really insightful
Basking is a fancy term for relaxing in bright light or heat, usually from the sun. Lizards often do it, but humans do too!
In french we say "lézarder", which comes from "lézard" (lizard) (the french translation for basking rootwalla, Agame pélerin, has nothing to do with basking unfortunately)
@@paulmallet3104 Wait, so would a "lézard lézarder" be a basking lizard, more or less? :D Thanks for the language trivia!
@@CilantroGamer lézard lézardant yes :p
And Broodscale I'm assuming is a nice combinations of the words Brood (meaning spawn of or offspring) and scale (the flakes covering a lizards skin) which makes me wonder if the spawns are flaking off of it's body. And how big is it or are the scions?
"Non-English Speaker"
I really like it when you explain certain moves you do. I find that I learn something I didn't realize I could do or shouldn't do. And Tommi needs to put some kind of trample and/or flying in that deck. :)
Sometimes the mono blue decks play artful dodge
Delver flies. The writhing crysalis just has reach so it doesnt matter.
The deck has Sleep of the Dead in the sideboard to tap down potential blockers infinitely, he just decided not to bring it it. Which I can kinda understand too.
Around 16:00 Tommy reveals spell Pierce, then mental notes and draws a card. He doesn’t draw for turn though. Great video! Glad to see pauper content
noticed it and was looking if i was the only one lol
then he didnt pierce the deadly dispute lol
@@Kakerate2 As Mengu stated when he cast Dispute, he had 2 mana available, so Pierce wouldn't have been super impactful.
This is the best edited pauper gameplay on YT. Fantastic work Tommy, we appreciate your labor. A suggestion, I think Cycle Storm vs Poison Storm would be a very interesting match between you two.
Thanks! Did u see Cardmarket video on poison storm already??
@@MengusWorkshop I haven't! Thanks for pointing me that direction.

@@MengusWorkshop Ruby Storm got 4th place
Loving the paper pauper content! Great work on the editing Tommy, the interface showing the players' life total, cards in hand, etc. looks fantastic 💯

When I first got my friends into magic we bought a big bulk collection of commons and all built decks with our loose ends, love seeing some pauper gameplay!
My day gets better when I see a new video from Mengu's Workshop! Great veedeo as always, love paper magic so much
You guys play off each other well. Great chemistry.
Thanks!
MORE PAUPER; LETS GOOOOO
I love Delver in Pauper, it's been my favourite deck for 2 years now, probably one of my favourite creatures ever
I just started watching this channel after watching Andrea on cardmarket. I can't get enough Mengu 😁
I really love this channel!. Very greatful to see pauper content with this quality.
"to bask" means to lie in warm light for a while. Lizards often do this to keep themselves warm.
I loved the insight in min 3:30 really nice to be able to have tips/advice in the video
Yeah we re starting to do them more!
Love pauper
I love the banter between you guys ❤

Delighted to see this content. Before I start watching, I’m gonna say I’m rooting for delver
10:03 so true, I can't comprehend the words of half of the card names in magic.

Nice! I love seeing 2 current top paper decks face each other. Game 2 was the best IMHO. Great plays in there
I love pauper! Jund broodscale is the only new deck I played from mh3 and it's a great time
It's a good day when Mengu's Workshop uploads a Pauper veedeo :)

keep making videos guys!! these are getting better every time :D
Ahhhh seeing Delver is always such a treat! GGs!
Shivan Altered Art is amazing! Just had a piece commissioned by her and she did a great job ❤
Yes! She’s amazing. One of my favourite artist. Hopefully soon I’ll buy some altered cards with her
Amazing day with a new pauper veedeo!!❤❤😊 Loved the "spell pierce prediction" hehe and the comeback in game two and how fast tommy won in game 1!
Definitely a great match thanks for watching!
Like for the algo!
Pauper content is never enough! ❤
Would love to have a closer look when you show off cards like the altered counterspell. Great vid as always!!!
Great video! Love the pauper content!
Rootwalla and basking moment was so funny! :D
Great video as always.
In post-MH3 Pauper, I really miss my Boros 8-Spectors, though :(
Same!
This applys to both of you. Your english is superb
Thanks!

Il mio duo preferito su MTG a mani bassissime! Siete eccezionali❤
Ma un bel Ruby Storm (anche per far impazzire Tommi con l'editing ahahah)?🥹
Tommi si spaventa solo leggendo questo messaggio ahah
Tommy needs to try the sick Sleep of the Dead technology for punching through Chrysalises and other annoying blockers!
Yes we love the paupah 🎉
Can you explain why Tommy didn't attempt to pierce the Deadly Dispute at 19:08 just to get rid of the token? I don't think that Pierce would be of any other value at this stage of the game.
Cool video! In my opinion there's no way in a format filled with glee and Gruul cascade boomerang is not hot.
Would have been cool if you put the altered Counterspell closer to the camera so we could see it properly.
Love the content!!! Would love to see UW fams in future :)
new video = good day
@16:00 did Tommy miss his draw for turn? Looks like he revealed for delver, cast mental note and drew from mental note, then skipped his draw step!
Oh no!
I see Delver, I click.
And I'm glad I did. 👍
Pauper is simply so fun to watch
I love seeing more pauper videos! Do you think Glee should get any card banned? Or are there any bigger threats in the format?
It s def the best deck atm. Let s see how things go for a bit
The only reason to play boomerang is for the sweet Mirage art.
I own two from the Legends!
There's also something sweet about casting Delver T1 on the play, your opponent playing a tapland, and then boomeranging their tapland on T2. You're up 2 lands and sometimes have a flipped Delver in play. Feels almost like Delver into wasteland.
@@MengusWorkshoplegends is super awesome, but Mirage still has art that remains beautiful on a level that even surpasses lots of the modern stuff. ❤
Boomerang is still useful for bouncing the artifact lands animated by Kenku Artificer. Deem Inferior cannot target lands.
I LOVE ANDREA MENGUCCI
i can't open the deck lists!??
but YEAH more paper Pauper gameplay :-D prefer that over MTGO
Sometimes if you have ads it doesnt open the link try taking it off

Lets go! Pauper
Woohoo more pauper! Do you guys have plans for Duskmourn prerelease/sealed?
No sorry, we used to do that but it didn’t have the success we hoped. I’ll be doing paper prerelease on friday though
Love you both, but I always root for Tommy
Fireball is actually an interesting mention, why does that combo deck not play a fireball like card over the goblin bombardment?
Is Glee the next All That Glitters? Will it be banned or some part of the combo?
🎉🎉🎉
Love the content. I’m a little confused as to why you proxied the delvers? Is it for some editing reason?
No it s a checklist card for double face cards
Is cleansing wildfire run here because it doubles as specific land hate sometimes? It feels like a rampant growth that sometimes doesn't work
i play jund glee too and it's fun but i play Snakeskin Veil instead of Vines of Vastwood because i think the +4/+4 isn't that much of help instead of the +1/+1 counter
Which card does Tommy put under his Delvers?
Checklist card from innistrad

Hi Mengu and Tommy, love your videos, but isn't easier to just use a clear sleeve for delvers instead?
It is. But they re sleeved like this for over 10 years. I don’t want to change their home!

It probably is his italian dialect of origin + a lot of bastardized english mtg lingo
Example:
Land=Terra in italian, but a lot of players use "Landa"
It depends if i m speaking for 2 hours or so in english then in english, but normally in italian.
I want to correct you: Writhing Chrysalis creates Eldrazi Spawns, not Scions.
M1G3 at 16:10 - Tommy mental notes to clear away a spell pierce, and then he forgets to draw for turn right?
I haven't finished the video yet but it would be a shame if Tommy lost a close one G3 where one more card had a chance of making the difference.
Why not bouncing the chrysalis with deem inferior at 20:00? Then just attack with everything and winning next turn?
It is a sorcery
I am curious, was Tommy correct for brainstorming end of turn?
It s important to be mana efficient in decks with tolarian terror and fill your gy as fast as possible
yeeeeees I love mono blue
I love monoU :3

What kind of card is the one under the Delver?
It s a checklist card from innistrad

👍
I love pauper
Is this why my old sadistic glee has gone from 50c to $5.70?
Mengu, sorry but they are eldrazi "spawns" not scions. Pretty sure the scions are the 1/1 tokens while the speawns are the 0/1
Wow you are really good at magic, you should do it professionally. 🤔😏
What card did Tommy have under his Delver?
It s a checklist card from Innistrad
it's a card that's used to represent flip cards. It's typically used for those who don't have sleeves
At 11:30, why not play terror?
Bluffing Counterspell is horrible here, Glee is dead if they don't draw an out, so they can't play around it anyway.
