As someone who loves orchestral music from late 19th and early 20th century, video games are the only place I can find similar music, this IS art and I'm so thankful that people still write this kinda pieces🙏
you're over thinking this way too much. most people like music for the singer or lyrics. recreational instrumental music enjoyers are a minority compared to the majority. video games have nothing to do with it being obscure. It's just different brain wavelengths or people, also this song doesn't seem to be very popular compared to others in eldenring by the community unfortunately. and trying to play this gets you the bandi namco copyright strike.
I like to think the feminine vocals in phase two represents Marika to me it feels like Maliketh reminding himself the duty her godess gave him, especially at 4:39, and at 5:02, cause the music goes quieter as if Maliketh would start to feel tired of fighting, only to be reminded by the echoes of marika's voice telling him to protect the rune of death has he already failed, and then the music goes completely chaotic and kind of desperate

Fromsoft will forever be treasured to creating THE hardest games in gaming history, and create best video game soundtrack, they truly went all out on Eldin Ring, you can tell there truly is passion behind everything in this game, Thank you Fromsoft for giving us this treasure, I hope you guys all got raises for this wonderful development and project, everyone working on this project truly deserves utmost respect, thanks for uploading this soundtrack, not only is this my favorite soundtrack, but my favorite boss, cant wait to play Shadow of the Erdtree.

Alternatively, it can be used to gain a great bounty of runes. Maliketh was a shadowbound beast given to his Empyrean. Marika's sole need of her shadow was a vessel to lock away Destined Death. Even then, she betrayed him.
I love the chorus showing up the second his second phase starts. Shit gets even more serious because at this point you realise that you're fighting the Lands Between's equivalent of the fucking Grim Reaper.
Almost all Souls OSTs have been disappearing from UA-cam over the last month. Not sure why they're suddenly copy-striking all these channels, probably because of the imminent release of the Elden Ring DLC but I don't know why they felt the need to do this.
I was being summoned to this fight constantly when I suddenly realized I was playing reverse fetch with a giant dog (the dog throws things at you and you have to not catch them) when this tarzan jungle scream came on at 3:29 and it just felt surreal.

Fromsoft on their way to make a sick boss fight that'll make you want to die during it but want to reach for the sky after winning, a depressing backstory that'll leave you hating yourself for killing the boss, and soundtrack to match it all
phase 2 of this boss rely hits hard i failed 70 to 80 times no summons then i finally beat him it was probly the hardest boss i ever fought on elden ring after 110 hours of Elden ring i finally beat the game even though the only souls game i ever beat was lies of P. But wow sutch a fun game i had to get the mimic to help me with the last 2 bosses.

BANDAI striking the videos down isn’t surprising but it is unfortunate. Still don’t know what benefit companies see in doing this.
