Nice to have the most up to date video with little nuggets of wisdom as you perfect your craft. Thanks to you and I've been cutting my own hair ever since quarantine. I was using my old wahl clippers but I want to get a new set of clippers+trimmers and I am torn between Kemei Clipper+trimmers and Suprent Pro combo listed on your equipment recommendation page. Both cost around the same. What would be your preference based on your experience? And Kemei has 2 trimmers, one "professional" and the other "0 mm", both cost $35, is one better than the other?
What did you go with?
What about a south side fade :D
Hey, Alex great video ! That fade is looking clean. I gave myself some hairucts starting from 0.5 guard lever closed and they turned out okish. What guards would you use for a fade starting from 0.5 guard lever closed? My current technique is 1st guideline with 0.5 closed, 2nd guideline with 1 halfway open, 1.5 open then 2 open.
Not Alex but have been cutting my hair for over a year.
0.5 guard lever closed is the same as no guard fully open. The lever changes the cutting range by 0.5.
So that being said, you can follow his steps after he used the lever open no guard.
Find what works for your hair/head, I’ve noticed that my sides are easy to fade but the back is more difficult, so to make the back easier to fade I actually make my guidelines gradually larger to have more area to blend along the occipital bone. that’s something that has helped me blend bc I have more room to work the blend in.
many ways to fade and non are wrong. try using the first with 0.5 closed and then 0.5 open, 1.5 open then 2 open. you can close the lever on the 1.5 to soften the line between and 0.5 open and by that point it should already be pretty blended. if it isnt just flick out with a 1 open. hope that helps
I'll try both techniques, thank you guys for the advice
👍
I used to cut my hair for a 3 years used to do my self haircut skin fade on a very high level but know I rather to go to a barbershop 💈 every 2 weeks instead I just don’t want worry about it by myself personally anymore
Been doing the same for years , even on my wedding day I cut my own hair lol , I calculated 30k $ on savings lifetime
What clippers are and do the comb settings vome with it?
Shave head pls ))
Do no skin fade you only do zero fades
Doesn’t the same logic apply but with higher numbers? That’s what I’ve been doing. Just doing 1, 2, and 3 instead of no guard, 1 and 2. Same concept applies.
If I wanted this haircut at the barbershop, what would I ask for?
show the video
It Litterly says mid fade.
But this is actually a mid-low fade
So if this is not skin then what would I say just mid fade?
@@EstyA329 yeah but just telll them “I want it as close as possible , but no shaver”
