Another HUGE thing for Ana is learning the arch of the nade when you toss it vertically. It can make 0:05 more efficient if you can toss it up and let the cooldown reset while it's traveling to the spawn doors, and as you showed at 1:00 it can and should be used while coming back from spawn 99% of the time, since it'll be refreshed by the time you're actually with your team (obviously if you're worried about being spawn camped by a Tracer or Sombra then hold onto it.) Plus, especially if you're defending an area, you might be able to land a nade as the enemies are coming back from spawn by hitting them on their side of a chokepoint right as they're trying to push through, could couple well with your teammate's spam and land an early kill, or just stall. Worth practicing for a while, learn the angle, I use it all the time :)

A cool trick on Ana is she gets a small animation cancel if you throw your nade during your reload animation, saves only 0.3/0.4 seconds and it's hard to pull off consistently (for me at least, but I'm plat) but it can come up in saving people
I'm super non pro, but wouldn't you want to focus on throwing your nade at a good opportunity instead of using it for animation cancel? That way the chance of getting less value is higher no? Just saw an awkward coaching where he emphasized not rushing nades. But again I don't have a good understanding of stuff and maybe you can do both?
@@RobertPazurek I’m no pro either, but in many situations when the animation cancel would be advantageous, it’s fair to assume nade opportunities would be aplenty. You wouldn’t need the animation cancel in, say, a calm scenario.

Tanks that dive with no plan, DPS that complain about no heals when all they do is jump around like maniacs and consistently leave your line of sight, or my personal favorite; getting left to fend for yourself in the backline. 🙄
I think what goes unsaid though, is that support mains then get this superiority complex where all they see is their teammate's making mistakes and they don't look at their own game play enough. sitting in the back heal-botting with their brain off, is just as much of a mistake as the int'ing rein.

I'd love a Kiriko guide. I haven't played OW for the last 3 years and would love it if I could learn her from you. I play all 3 roles as well so I trust your judgement more than single-role players. They tend to be pretty biased.
Your temperament is exquisite. I’ve only encountered you on a frogger video once or twice I believe, but this was such an easy, captivating watch. Thank you.
I recently started playing OW and was using moira as a crutch. I started using Ana and since then have gotten better overall on a LOT of characters. I'm a pretty good Ana now and this is a super helpful guide for refinement
Love these vids, I've been learning ana after learning kiri so this was great. Plus, I always enjoy your videos specifically because they're fun, useful, and your voice is so soothing
I think my main issues with Ana is my aiming especially because its hard to get used to dealing dmg when the heals hitbox is wayyyy bigger than the dmg hitbox, so you’re more used to the heals hitting so it makes it harder for me to hit some dmg shots. I also have been told to quickscope shots when I’m up in the team/in danger but for some reason it seems way harder this season than it was last season.
for me, i can only quickscope once (tho i'd prob miss), but when i try to quickscope immediately again, there's a delay in shooting (i fire but no bullet comes out). so now i either stay scoped in or not scope (tho when i do a single shot, then i use the quickscope). also, my aim is just bad in general, i miss heals and damage (sometimes i get lucky shots tho lol). i usually can hit an enemy once or twice, but its rare for me to finish them off. also, sometimes i reserve my nades for too long, or waste my sleep when i dont need to. but other than that, i feel like im getting much better on ana! :) im starting to hit more sleeps, one game in comp (it was just the first half tho) i had a 55% scoped accuracy and 71% sleep accuracy (im silver btw). i remember a hanzo fell off the high ground to shoot me, but i slept him and my team finished him. and in another game i slept an ulting genji, twice. so im getting better at sleep aim, even tho i miss the easy ones lol
@@TamWam_Accuracy will come with time, but you should challenge yourself. Don't avoid shooting at enemies because you're scared you'll miss. As for quick scoping, it sounds like you're just trying to scope too fast. Ana's rifle acts like a bolt-action. If you hip-fire and watch, you can see the exact moment a new projectile appears in the chamber. The trick is to scope in at that moment, no sooner. The timing does feel odd, I struggled with it myself. I highly recommend you watch Awkward for Ana guides if you don't already.
@@stupidmonkey151 ah alr tyty! tho i used to be a mercy/kiri two trick i think i’ll replace kiri with ana bc she’s so fun to play lol. ty again, and this one game i ended up having more kills than both tanks and enemy dps as ana (tho i did get a few kills on kiri when i swapped to her)
@@stupidmonkey151 no no its Speed comes with time, try your best to land as many sleeps as possible and eventually when youre used to it, *speed* will come. accuracy first speed later
What I love is that it's not an ego vod, so your game has the perfect mix of good and bad. cause no one learns anything when you are just better aim or the team just works. That ain't useful in soloq.
Great video! I really loved this style of video, super engaging! I watched the whole way through and didn't get side-tracked like I do watching other Overwatch videos.

13:27 Hors-d'oeuvre (literally "out of the work") is pronounced "ohr d-euh-vr", and is a combined word made out of Hors (outside, out) and Oeuvre (work, craft, art piece). It refers to appetizers or dishes handed out at the start of a full course meal. Most likely, the full course meal is the chef's work and therefore, an hors-d'oeuvre would be something not related to that work but can help you enjoy it more. For pronunciation, the H is silent, the S is silent, the oe is a special letter so the spelling of "eu" is less deep (that or because it takes its latin roots from the word "Opera"). Thinking about it, the latin root Opera is used directly for the singing art (an opera) but is also found in "operation" and "operating", which are closely related to operate, which in French is "Opérer" and its latin root "Operari". Fun and intriguing is it not? :3
I really really really don’t want to sound arrogant/stupid but I’m kinda proud that I did most of this things with Ana before starting looking for videos to prepare to enter Ranked in this season 9. Your temperament is exquisite. I’ve only encountered you on a frogger video once or twice I believe, but this was such an easy, captivating watch. Thank you.
junkrat video next. im am starved for eskay junkrat content and need it back.
I recently started playing OW and was using moira as a crutch. I started using Ana and since then have gotten better overall on a LOT of characters. I'm a pretty good Ana now and this is a super helpful guide for refinement
Metalysis is psychotic. He has a channel, it’s the funniest shit I’ve seen in a while from overwatch.
Ana is the only character where I call when I reposition and when I reload, it feels so much more relevant than anyone else
lets goooo! finally i will go from a boosted masters 5 ana to a deserving masters 5 ana!
thx so much for the Ana tips and for doing it in a "new" map to learn the high grounds and rotations
watching eskay miss shots made me feel so much better about missing shots 😭
Love these vids, I've been learning ana after learning kiri so this was great. Plus, I always enjoy your videos specifically because they're fun, useful, and your voice is so soothing
I searched for a guide but your voice was so calming that i feel asleep 😂
Loved this video cheers honestly good to see raw gameplay and not just highlights
I would love to see this kinda video with brig you are rlly great at explaining eskay :D
Me is the opposite somehow
for me, i can only quickscope once (tho i'd prob miss), but when i try to quickscope immediately again, there's a delay in shooting (i fire but no bullet comes out). so now i either stay scoped in or not scope (tho when i do a single shot, then i use the quickscope).
also, my aim is just bad in general, i miss heals and damage (sometimes i get lucky shots tho lol). i usually can hit an enemy once or twice, but its rare for me to finish them off. also, sometimes i reserve my nades for too long, or waste my sleep when i dont need to. but other than that, i feel like im getting much better on ana! :)
im starting to hit more sleeps, one game in comp (it was just the first half tho) i had a 55% scoped accuracy and 71% sleep accuracy (im silver btw).
i remember a hanzo fell off the high ground to shoot me, but i slept him and my team finished him. and in another game i slept an ulting genji, twice. so im getting better at sleep aim, even tho i miss the easy ones lol
The Copium meme cracked me up lol.
My favorite Ana guide I've watched so far.
i love these kinds of guides, the examples help a lot
i think a Sym guide would be nice
What I love is that it's not an ego vod, so your game has the perfect mix of good and bad. cause no one learns anything when you are just better aim or the team just works. That ain't useful in soloq.
Great video, good advice and clearly laid out.
Side note. You should do audio books or something. Your voice is wonderful.
Man I wish I could land my sleeps like he did in that Tracer. Nice guide.
Great video! I really loved this style of video, super engaging! I watched the whole way through and didn't get side-tracked like I do watching other Overwatch videos.
Im so happy youre more active on yt now youre like my favorite overwatch player
Love love this video and the stream of conciousness style it mskes everything easier to intuitively think about!
Id love to see videos like this going over positioning on different types of maps, and more ana, kiri, sojourn:)
“If you whiff a lot, just throw your nade” never has a more relatable comment been made, Eskay 😂
EKSAYY PERFECT TIMING I fr thought to myself earlier that I want to get better on Ana
eskay i love your vibe so much and i’m am ana main, she’s so fun tysm for this
Great video!! I absolutely lost my shit when I saw (@ around 9:50) that the enemy rein was Metalysis. Love that guy
this is extremely helpful! :D I'd love to see a guide on Baptiste or Rein
**Rein screams in voice chat**
Her: It’s okay
Anna: stop whining you’re fine
perfectly set voice like
As a very novice player to OW. You are amazing! I love playing Ana as well. You're definitely giving some spot on great tips!
I really really really don’t want to sound arrogant/stupid but I’m kinda proud that I did most of this things with Ana before starting looking for videos to prepare to enter Ranked in this season 9. It actually motivates me thinking that I’m on the right path and idea with the character and will keep learning like the Zzz on the Ulti Cassidy with the peaking and shooting Zzz.
"if you wiff a lot just throw your nade" I felt that on a spiritual level
A few weeks ago, I did the same as you did in 1:20, threw my nade while my tank anti was about to run out, so they could get the heal buff, same reason as you, my gf said that was a really bad play, and watching you do the same, just makes me feel less bad :')
Only if they are just about to die is it a good idea.
i recently learned the meaning of the word eskay and it changed my view that this was a wholesome cutesy channel
I would LOVE to see this type of video for Sojourn
You said you jump around too much as a habit from Lucio. I always thought I was just bad and that’s why I did it so thank you for the new source of copium.
Great now I actually have to good at ana thanks eskay
id love if they added a toggle for Ana's sniper where it changes to friendly seeker rounds that are only for healing team mates
Best guide I’ve ever seen even though I don’t play Ana. Please keep this series going!
Please make more! That was a great video!
I would love a video on either brig, or talking about how to pick what heroes for every map!
youre really pretty~ thanks for the guide
Blizzard needs to make a copy and paste feature in game chat so I can send this to them. 2 games in a row of this man
you are the most calm and composed player i've ever seen
Thanks for the great ana tips and by the way as a french representant I m sorry for the spelling of hors d oeuvre :)
That pre fire at 3:20 made me jump out of my seat holy smokes
As a GM Ana/bap my reaction to most of these suggestions is “well no shit”. But I see how this could be helpful to metal rank Ana’s. Solid vid 👍
Also Ty for this video and shout out to your insanely good Lucio. He played that so well
Another eskay vid lets GOOOOOOOOOOOO
Exactly the kind of content I'm looking for thank you
