She comes from a poor family in a poor town and the first sport school has the poorest facility in the province…. She competed over all world championship during native diving selection match to win the olympics qualification and this is her first world diving competition. Congrats!

My heart goes out to Chantelle who won in Athens....she has had substance abuse and petty crime problems, and her life spiralled out of control....so sad :(
Yes. Some deal with the post international sports blues better than others. Poor Chantelle obviously didn't deal well with it, falling victim to the scourge of ice/meth addiction....It is (or should be!) the duty of all of us sports fans to raise awareness of what can, and frequently does happen to these Olympic champions when they retire from their sport.
