  • I'm sure this is a great product otherwise but I was hardly impressed for such a major brand name in the lubricant industry.

    So I’ve used this same kit for my 07 CBR 600rr and my other 2 bikes. I have never had any issues. What most riders do especially new riders is use the cleaner and Lube and then ride right afterwards. What I like to do is gently wipe off the excess Lube after it’s been drying for a few hours. To each it’s Owen but I can honestly say this product worked great for me. I use it on all 3 of my bikes with no complaints.

    I totally agree man. I always used motul engine oil and I found it perfect. However, the first time I applied motul chain lube was also the last time I would ever use it. It attracts dirt very quickly and flings a lot all over the rear rim and parts, no matter how long you leave it on the chain before you ride.

    I use the Motul Paste. More annoying to put on, but can squish it into the rings, and zero fling, plus longer lasting. Try it and let me know your thoughts. I've tried lube, wax, paste - I think paste is best.

    Hello Man ! I agree with you 100% , I can only think the intended purpose of this product is to repel water as it is sticky as hell, if you are going to ride in the rain , maybe it's a good option. But like you said , there are WAYYYYYY better options out there. Thanks for the video . I watched your video just to confirm that some else is as disappointed as I am with MOTUL.

    This is my race chain lube I used for the R3 and I can feel the difference when it's apply the chain moves more freely after it's been applied. In racing I clean my chain multiple times a race day. Never used for street riding. It's very cool to free the chain moves easy when spinning the rear tire after it's on

    • @MotoBikeMike
      @MotoBikeMike  5 років тому +3

      Rhino Dan it works well as a lubricant no doubt about. Can’t really go too wrong with the major brands that are used in racing, it just irritated me when it says no fling but after each ride I came back to black specs 😂 not what I want on these streets. You had to clean yours for top performance keep it fresh and minimal resistance keeping it fresh so makes sense not a big deal with black specs on red rims right after cleaning lmao 😢 I clean my chain every 5 rides probably so vastly less then you did. I so far still like me that BelRay spins smooth and almost zero fling. Almost, nothing’s perfect of course. Few other brands I want to try out first hand. So far the only one that I can truest say no one should actually use is Castrol OMG that shit is horrendous. Flings off so much makes you wonder if you ever put it on 😂🤣

    • @RhinoDan
      @RhinoDan 5 років тому +1

      @@MotoBikeMike totally understand and it truly depends on the needs of the chain lube. Clean vs performance and your right nothing perfect. To be honest on the street do you need more performance no do you need a longer lasting lube with less mess probably.

      I just used it first time Motul C3 on my 2019 Gsxs 750..The waxy factory stuff lasted bout 1300 ks but flung all over the rear wheel which I cleaned up after first 2 rides or so. I've thoroughly adjusted ,cleaned and lubed with Motul C3 and it Definitely spins much more easier on stand and with much less resistance.. I'm wondering how long before I have to clean and relube with this stuff..Extra power is always good due to less resistance..Glad I don't have to care for my belt on my 2018 HD..

    Seriously, the purpose of chain lube is to provide lubrication and reduce friction. Chain lubes from ThreeBond and Motul brands are sticky like glue and it defies the purpose of lubrication. Worst still, they attract dirt and dust.

    • @RWD.G
      @RWD.G 2 роки тому +2

      I feel the same about Motul Road lube. I think is too sticky to provide lubrication and might even damage the O rings by making them sticky. I will be wiping it off and try some lube which feels like lube, not glue.

    I use full synthetic gear oil I don’t mind the cleaning the rim a couple times after lubing the chain... full synthetic gear oil far superior then the “name brand” stuff out there that wants your money but doesn’t work well... for cleaning use kerosene it also

    I'm having the exact same problem. This stuff is terrible and flings off all into my mudguard and front sprocket area.
    It also dissolved the pre-existing lube inside the links and made a huge mess of my wheel.

  • @nspinicelli
    @nspinicelli 3 роки тому +1

    How long are you letting the Motul sit on the chain before your ride? I apply the night before I ride, and I have little to no clean up after a 500 mile day. Works well on my race bike too, very little fling after 170-180mph trackdays. But that's after letting it soak in for about 10 hours. Also, use kerosene to clean oil/rubber, it will make the rim cleaning process take about 10 seconds.

    • @MotoBikeMike
      @MotoBikeMike  3 роки тому +1

      At least 12 hours minimum but we also might not be using the exact same motul as their are a few different options but I never lube and ride. Whenever I lube my chain it’s the day before never minutes before 🤘 it’s best to let any lube sit for a few hours before hand thicken up.

    • @MotoBikeMike
      @MotoBikeMike  3 роки тому +1

      I also do use kerosene for my chain but not all the time 🤘 but I will not let it touch my rims I just don’t like it. I use WD 40 for rims 90% percent f the time. I find works better or just as good and doesn’t stink as bad, same effect though for rims not my chain lmao

      @petrol11 12 днів тому

      Lube, dry cloth to collect as much excess oil as possible, then run the bike to get heat into the chain/oil. Oil goes a long way especially when it gets hot, the oil will transfer onto all the contacted sprockets etc

    Motul has a higher quality Motul Chain Lube C4 Factory Line which has white colour and sticky. It is better than the Motul C2. I have used both. @@MotoBikeMike i have to add one thing here which is that I make sure to move the bike a half meter backwards or forwards for 2 minutes before resuming my ride and that's because the part of the chain close to the engine becomes
      Very hot when the bike is parked more than five minutes and that causes the lube viscosity to become vulnerable to be scattered
      Everywhere while spinning hot a around the sprockets. I also take it easy the first hundred meters so the lube has the chance to cool down and solidify.
