So here we are November 16, 2022 and now you have created a dilemma for me. I am coming back to voice work after a 5 year hiatus and a move to a small town in Fla. I need to make a starter studio, make a demo, take a class or take a different class to give me a leg up. The decision is do I take dads class or daughters class first. Where will I get the best head start. Can you give me some advice?

Very much looking forward to this class. My Fiverr business has never gotten going, even after a few years now. I can relate to Mallory's position on not having the time for marketing, as my VO work is still very part time. I'm really hoping what I learn from this class will be the boost I've been looking for.
Watched the video on Fiverr last spring when I took Bill's course. Has Mallory's course been updated since then? If so, I'm interested in the new course. Thanks!
@@johntinnin1 Actually, Mallory got back to me via email and informed me about how the course has been updated and expanded. I'm enrolled and very much looking forward to it!
So great to see you both again. I may be one of a very small group of VO artists that have Mallory's voice on my Commercial Demo when she "dabbled". Seriously considering investing in the course, despite being a TRS on Fiverr. Always more room to learn.

Good to know that a VO artist can actually earn that kind of compensation on Fiverr. I always thought Fiverr offered very low earnings for voice over. I'm in the process of moving and looking forward to first setting up a recording studio. Right now I don't have an extra closet or room to turn into a studio. Would love to get some pointers on how to be successful on Fiverr. Mallory, do you have a website where artists can keep track on any upcoming training classes? Unfortunately, I can't join the June, 2021 class. Thanks.
When Fiverr first started it was primarily known for its $5 jobs, but it's a whole new ball game now! Unfortunately, we don't currently have an all-purpose training site for announcements . . . but we're definitely thinking about putting something like that together in the future. Also, all of the recordings for the class will be uploaded after they're created, so if you ever decided to join in the future, you'll have immediate access to all of the material :-) Good luck with your move!

Hi Mallory and Bill. Great video, thanks!! I'm starting a VoiceOver business and I am interested in Mallory's course however, I intend to do only French Voice Overs and no English. Does the course also works for other languages or is it specially targeted at English speaking VoiceOver professionals? Hey Bill, obviously missed the boat here by a couple months but would still be interested to learn more from mallory on this topic. What's the best way to get in contact?
Yes, Bill! Working on an audio-book narration currently. Does Whisper room fit into a small room or is it THEE room? do they have a website? Thanks again from one former veteran radio DJ to another!

Can anyone help please? I’ve checked my email throughly, I don’t have anything other than the link to join the webinar.
Right now I'm confused that it is both On-Demand and also a live, once-per-week class. On-Demand implies I don't have to attend the stream at a specific time.
That's correct. Although the class is live (and definitely built to be experienced that way) all of the classes will be recorded and uploaded to our learning portal upon completion which you will have access to immediately after signing up. Hi there, I clicked on the link to sign up for the training but it already started a couple weeks ago... plus, I really don't want to wait 4 weeks to learn everything (attending live). Is there a recorded version I can access that I can do at my own pace?
I took the long course for voice over from Such A Voice, but have done nothing with it for various reasons. I'm wondering if this course would be beneficial.

No worries. We have our own learning portal that you'll gain access to when you sign up for the course where we'll upload all the recordings for the class as they're created.
Nice set of cans Mallory! Did you steal those off a B-17 pilot? And yeah, it feels a little weird telling a woman she has nice "cans". At least in public!! Thanks to you and Bill for this short series of vids highlighting your experience with Fiverr. I especially appreciate your candor about your income success. Other vids/websites seem reluctant to use actual numbers. But starting out in this biz, actual numbers mean a lot. So, thanks again! I'm sorry I missed your class in June. I sincerely hope that you will offer it again!!
I live in S.E.Asia, so the timings of the live classes are not going to work for me, or anyone else on this side of the planet. If I sign up, will I have access to the content on-demand instead of live?
cool story but most folks don't have 12 years of exposure to make them feel like they can relate to this situation, or the connections that you mentioned having.
Ok, I have to admit... Nice promotion of your product..15min of nothing informative about anything, but a total flaunting of Mallory's background of how great she is on what she's doing! Omg! I'm so convinced, I will definitely join! I wanna earn that kind of money too! It's so easy! One-two seminars and I'm right there! 10k per month here I come!
Bill: "How long have you been on the platform now?" Mallory: "Two and a half years. I started in January of 2019". *Fiverr profile says: Member since Jul 2016. I HATE PEOPLE WHO LIE !!!*
This may or may not be the case, dear! That was when she started the profile as a buyer, perhaps? Or, she started the profile in 2016 but never had a look at it, this is exactly my case.
I signed up for Fiverr well over a year before I even attempted doing anything on it at all, and even then it was extremely sporadic. And then there was the time when I began actually working at it. So it would've been something like 2.5 years before I actually did any meaningful work on Fiverr.
Whoa... geez... name calling? I signed up for fiverr in 2018 and still havent done anything on it. If six months someone asks me how long Ive been on there i will say 6 months.... not a lie.
@@jacqueecohen *Bill's specific question was: "How long have you been on the platform now?"* *The correct answer would be: "Since 2016" !!! BTW, the statement, "people who lie" is not "name-calling". Name-calling would be calling her a "lying mother-effer" !!!*
I'd recommend looking at successful VO people on Fiverr and just emulate and reiterate on what they're doing. Because you're not established I'd go with lower price points because the people that want to "hire" you are in a way taking a risk.
Sorry, I am not convinced. If you are reallyy making all that cash, you would neither have time, nor be inclined, to make senseless self-promoting videos boasting of your talent and success - you would either be making more money or out spending it. Moreover, I do not find your advice valuable or helpful. Telling me I need to be "good" and "engaging" and "interesting" is so dag blamed obvious. MT
Hi, JR. I didn't take their discussion as boasting, but rather as sharing what may be possible. Bill has tons of helpful videos and I don't think it takes up much of his time to make these, which are especially helpful for those of us just starting out.
Absolutely! When you sign up, you'll gain access to our custom learning portal where all the recordings will be uploaded as soon as they're created.
Great video guys! Please can you share Mallory's Fiverr profile name? Sorry if I missed it somewhere. Thanks.
Sure thing! It's mhandford on Fiverr. Here's the link to her page: www.fiverr.com/mhandford/record-a-professional-american-female-voice-over
@@VoiceCoach-BillDeWees Thank you so much!
"I only made $35k in the first year."
Only?! $35k from this is my entire goal! Lol
cool story but most folks don't have 12 years of exposure to make them feel like they can relate to this situation, or the connections that you mentioned having.
She looks just like you.
That's what I thought, too. :)
Instead of being bitter and jealous, get off your lazy derierre and do something about it. Smdh
Is Mallory Handford Summer Smiths voice of Ricky and Morty?
It was easy to tell that B was the more expensive Mic.
Bill: "How long have you been on the platform now?"
Mallory: "Two and a half years.
@@jondriscoll-celebrityvoice1592 *Read Bill's question again.*
If six months someone asks me how long Ive been on there i will say 6 months.... not a lie.
@@jacqueecohen *Bill's specific question was: "How long have you been on the platform now?"*
*The correct answer would be: "Since 2016" !!! BTW, the statement, "people who lie" is not "name-calling". Name-calling would be calling her a "lying mother-effer" !!!*
I have a page that's been there for years, but I've found setting up pricing pretty confusing so I still haven't gone live. I may be overthinking it.
You aren't alone. I could have written your post word-for-word.
I'd recommend looking at successful VO people on Fiverr and just emulate and reiterate on what they're doing. Because you're not established I'd go with lower price points because the people that want to "hire" you are in a way taking a risk.
Be honest.
How crazy is it to want to do narration, anime/cartoon/videogames voice acting, advertising and singing with the voice I have?
And I’m starting from nothing I want to be great I’m willing to work at it I know Rome wasn’t built in a day .
Hopefully you can find a coach or other UA-cam creator that will be helpful to you. For me, I've found a lot of value in Bill's videos. Wishing you all the best if your voice over career! :)
@@BethBurns68 Good reply Bill. It is good it works for you and I appreciate your polite and measured reply.
Parenthetically, I was a long term professional public speaker and public advocate, and independent consultant, beta tester, audio product reviewer, and consultant to audio software producers and multiple online retail vendors. I was also a college level instructor on public speaking and advocacy, advising students, lawyers, judges, and commercial audio engineers ... so I have a substantial real life professional experience in "da business." Thank you for the nice reply. MT
