This is genius. Thank you so much. I've been trying to find items that it would snap to to try and do the shelf trick. but this helped me soo much. Now to see if i can implement it !
SOME TROUBLESHOOTING FOR EVERYONE HAVING ISSUES GETTING THEM ON THE TABLE: I was having this issue, as everytime I would try, they would never place right, but on the floor beneath. 1.) Try moving the chair back a bit. 2.) try moving the NPC to storage first (it still does work if they were in storage) 3.) If they are able to place, but when exiting they fall through, just walk out and back in. 4.) if you are doing this on a controller, dont (lol) It makes things so hard and I am a controller player. plug in a cheap mouse and KB if you are on PS4. NOTE** You can also do this with a lalafellin step stool instead of the table. A HUGE thank you to Shei Cloudbank! So happy you made this vid!
This legit helped. Was struggling a little to get a mannequin to stick on the table, so came here to see if I was doing something wrong. Zoning out and back into the house fixed it, and the mannequin was on the table like it should have been. Edit: Well, I got the black figure model in the decorating menu to float, but the actual mannequin itself seems to be anchored to the floor. Even after leaving and coming back into the house, the displayed model is on the floor, but the model in the housing menu is floating. Edit 2: Took leaving and coming back in a second time for the display to update.
how did you get this to work? im trying to do it the way the video has it but they always IMMEDIATELY clip into the table itself. i think it might be because i cant get the menu that has you physically click "place" to pop up but idk. i just wanna put my namazu in the aquarium
Note: For a mannequin The same process seems to work except you need to use a brand new mannequin, as you click the "select retainer to display" Treat that as the same thing as selecting race. As soon as you select the retainer to be placed escape.
Edit: it DOES WORK when you are on the oriental round table instead of being on a chair! I placed my lalafell vendor on the lalafellin stool and it allowed be to place with no "Unable to place item" pop up and no need to exit as fast as I could anymore, but my lalafell vendor was on the floor at first after I exit the housing menu. I re-enter my room and now my lalafell vendor is on the stool. Cheers!
This doesn't work for me when I try it for a mannequin. Do you have any methods to be able to place mannequins on top of stages or other platforms without just the window/wall method people use. It's so hard to feature one of these when you can't even set them anywhere ;w;
Can't get the table bit working no matter how hard I try can that part just be skipped? SE needs to quit jerking us around and just let us place things onto lofts normally -_-
@@jerrysaen if you watch to the end, she says you need to have a collision surface under the npc. I'm using the lalafellin step stool. The key here is to leave the house after "locking in the floated height" and you get the npc with the collision surface under them to the height you want.
Trying to float mannequins right now and it doesn't work for me like with the others. The black version floats but when I exit to the housing options the detailed version is on the ground. Maybe it's because I'm trying to do it in an apartment?
Actually scratch this comment it worked after going in and out my room twice lmao EDIT: Apart from coming out and in your apartment/house a couple of times you do NOT remove the item you're using to lift them up until the change registers.
The second time you moved the npc higher with the shelf, you didn't remove it, you simply selected it, moved it higher then place canceled and it worked. You don't need to remove it from the wall each time to save a few steps/time.
It doesn't work. My NPC sinks through the table before I can even pick my race or gender. I guess they fixed it. So much for my dream of having an NPC on stage.
I was able to skip the table step and also able to lift from about ankle height on the model at a time. I was also able to leave the shelf under the model to anchor it after I turned it. I did it with namazu npc to put them on a half partition.
I tried to do this today, but when I go to place the material supplier a-3 (same one you’re using) it has me select what race/gender I want BEFORE I have access to the black silhouette to place it. Tried to have it float it it’s not working....
So I've done everything correctly, from the wall panel and using the shelf to raise the mannequin higher and higher. I removed the wall panel and shelf. I put something "hard" underneath the mannequin. I'm using the indoor waterfall. I place it, walk out of the house and back in, and yet it goes back to the ground. What am I doing wrong?
Sometimes I've had the issue where the black silhouette in the housing menu will float, but the mannequin once I exit out of the menu will stay on the ground - any idea on what I can do to fix that?
its supposed to do that. You get it to stay floating by rotating the black figure and putting a collision object underneath it and then leaving and re-entering the house
For me I would leave the house, and then go back in and the npc was floating like the black outline was - although that was a month or two ago so not sure if its till works like that
I'm trying to get this to work for mannequins but I'm having trouble. I can float them up but when I cancel out of the housing menu they fall. Why is this?
Thank you for these tutorials, they've been helping me a lot with my apartment. I can't for the life of me get Higan Armor Statues to rise/float, though. I've tried the shelf and the loft, and they just won't get off the ground. Can some things not be raised period?
This is Not working to my M house😣doing upstairs on the second floor of the house and I using ps4. How can i used circle botton? To fast skip?I guess circle botton in ps4 is not for fast skip or back to screen..😥 i try this many times but not working😭 any suggestions plss. And thank you
@@Saralightff Still snaps back to the ground. Having the same issue. EDIT: The reply below has the solution. If the "shadow" NPC is floating but the actual NPC isn't, exit your house and then re-enter it. The NPC is now standing on the table.
I tried to do this with the White Rectangular Partition and I only got as far as floating it off the Oriental Round Table. I've tried using the Riviera Wall Shelf and the different sized tables to try lift it but they all do not seem to work. I see some designs at housingsnap where the partitions are quite high up. Do you happen to know how to lift these things?
If floating it like an npc doesn't work, try getting it off the ground with the oasis leaf rug first. Keep in mind the white rectangular partition has the most ANNOYING hitbox to try and float. Definitely use a lot of patience trying to get this item off the ground.
Great tutorial! I just have one question. Do you have to have something underneath them to keep them up or can they stay up by themselves once high enough?
Do you have to use the Riviera shelf once they're high enough? For instance, you could use the loft instead to get bigger jumps with ground items. Thanks for your clear tutorials!
If you are floating npc's, yes. Use the riveria wall shelf because the thing with npc's is that they can only move up slowly in mirco-movements and they will not register large leaps. With other furniture its totally possible to move it up in large steps with the wooden loft.
I struggled with this on a handful of tries, but I finally have a lalafell bartender high enough to serve elezens! Thanks for all you've done, Shei!

Probably the hingan wardrobe. Mannequins function the same as NPCs

You can rotate them after they are floating but make sure you are in PC controls and preset the rotate option.
