We had a bad experience when we went to Cartmel but is was mainly because we wasn’t prepared for how things are done there. We hadn’t brought any chairs to sit on and also the card machines didn’t work anywhere (it was card only due to Covid) and we didn’t have much cash. There was only 2 of us and there was nowhere to sit and you couldn’t see anything because the entire course was covered with people sitting next to the rails on their camping chairs. There were lots of dogs there which is fine but one of them got loose and chased after the horses as the turned into the short home straight which I thought was a bit dangerous. It was a lovely place though but I wouldn’t go back.

My local track is Fakenham but I am a Cartmel member. We traipse halfway across the country through the summer traffic for every meeting because it's the best fun you can ever have on a Racecourse and I have never been made to feel so welcome at the races. They can't do enough for you. If you've ever thought of going but haven't - JFDI!!!
