I once had a nightmare I was writing one of his books and it had tendrils coming from my roof in reality when I was waking up I was stuck in between sleep and wake in sleep paralysis for about 5 minutes and there was squid ink dripping from the tentacles…. It was turning into a type of writing that turned into a cypher that was not anything like a script I have seen or can explain before, it wasn’t even alien, it was beyond. The dream was before I had read anything of lovecraft but it prompted my interest as I had heard about the mouth of madness movie, so I went out and bought a few books a couple of weeks later and I realised our writing styles were SO similar. I was going through a deeply troubling time with my mental health and suffering from the aftermath of severe trauma from childhood/adolescence at the time. I had been raped and sexually assaulted constantly by my boyfriend at the time and it was a really dark, dread filled nightmare of an existence for me. I would wake up from nightmares into a waking nightmare and it seemed to be no escape. Reading lovecraft during that time made me feel as though I had a fragment of his soul reincarnated inside me. I had already become familiar with the work of Crowley and a few others prior to Lovecraft, but Lovecraft writes in a way that is so haunting and unforgettable. Funnily enough once I faced those books, I stopped having the nightmares and started practicing enetgy work, cleansing, healing, I had a breaking point where I had sleep paralysis and I was told to call archangel Michael to stop it. I never had sleep paralysis after that. It was about 3 weeks after the lovecraft nightmare. After this all went down, my life only got better, I meditated and practiced mindfulness, found yoga, later, eventually started practicing ceremonial magick. I was also in therapy at the time all this was happening, but now I’m a trained counsellor and working on my bachelor degree in psychology and counselling. Hoping to get my masters and become a therapist to help those like myself one day. Plus do research on more anomalous psychology topics. I think facing the HP lovecraft work after that horrific dream was a shadow aspect of my own psyche. I feel it related to a past life experience. I know nothing more than that. It’s also not able to be proven. The link between the Necronomicon that is the LOVECRAFT and the one that is with the invocation names of the old ones later coming out, always has interested me, for i hsve heard rumours in the community of chaos magicians they invented that purely to bring life to the fictional works of lovecraft.

People like to talk crap about him but honestly, I suspect he was autistic and was badly socialized. He suffered from some vaguely defined anxiety disorder and lived a hard and lonely life.
