- In today’s vlog we head to our favorite Florida beach for a week with friends and family! We drive to Anna Maria Island which is on the Gulf Coast of Florida and it’s about 2 hours away from the Disney World area. We give you a detailed tour of our beach house vacation rental, we’ve stayed here in the past and we absolutely loved it! Then we head to The Porch for dinner, this place was still being built the last time we were in Annam Maria so we were excited to try it! Dinner was great and the weather was perfect for eating outside. Then we head home and get Jackson ready for bed and check out the beautiful sunset right outside on our balcony. To answer Tim's question, Yes, we absolutely do leave stuff behind at vacation rentals when our time there is done. I've done it down in Florida and I've done it up here in Ontario Canada too.
There is such a peace on AMI that I've never felt anywhere else. This has become one of our favorite places to visit, all thanks to you guys! Can't wait to see the rest of this weeks videos :)

To answer Tim’s question about people leaving stuff behind at beach houses… speaking for my friends and family yes, yes we do leave stuff behind.
Took a trip to Hawaii in May and of the 9 of us we left a little bit of everything behind because we couldn’t fit it in our carry on.
Beach towels, snorkels, fins, beach bags, coolers, sunscreen, aloe Vera, bug spray

What a great house to stay in--the kids (and adults!) are really going to enjoy the pool and slide--and as one who can burn easily, I love how shady that area is! Also, when Jackson was telling about his dream, at first I thought he said "King Kong and tennis" 🤣 Thanks for translating--I was a little confused!

Hi Tim! To answer your question, my mom owned a beach condo on Ft. Myers Beach for MANY years. She did provide a few things for guests to use on the beach BUT most of it was left behind from renters who could not take it back with them on the airplane. So, its a combination of both!

I love Anna Maria island we were there in may for a beach day just drive by n went to beach loved it we tried to eat at the porch but too booked up could not get any resv around that area but so loved it! Love your conch house ya stayed love to do a rental there one day too!

I actually live and work out on the island at a equipment rental company. Most places will provide you with a certain amount of chairs and umbrellas, but also people come and buy things and can't fly back with them so they leave them at the house.
If there are some items missing then people like us provide them for you!
We discovered Anna Maria Island from your channel! We went in December and it is a beautiful place. Our rental house had similar issues, I felt better watching your video that maybe it’s all the rentals have some odd things needing repair. Looking forward to the rest of the videos!

I love Ana Maria Island so so much. The last time I was there I got woke up by my mum who told me to come down to the beach (we were in a lodging just off the beach) and I got to watch a pod of dolphins swimming in the morning light. It was 💫magical💫

💯 love this! I did a road trip to Disney from Wisconsin back in April. Did a side trip to Anna Maria Island for sunset on the beach one day since Tim and Jenn had such an amazing experience before.

Gorgeous house - this might be the house I remember from the last time you stayed, did you stay at another one where it had a balcony upstairs that you could looked downstairs from? I seem to remember something like that, that I really liked. he blue bedroom would be mine, as my favorite color is blue, and it's just so calming, welcoming, and serene-feeling in there, and I also love the artwork in that room!! Yum Tim - your filet with that mushroom sauce would be right up my alley - looked SO good! No Brussels Sprouts though. LOL

We have been staying on Anna Maria for 20 plus years and love it. We always stay at Resort 66 as its part of our time share.

aahh I loove AMI! My family went there last year and it was so so wonderful. Unfortunately, it's a flight for most of my family, so it breaks the budget most years, but I can't wait to go back sometime! We rented a house called Tropical Oasis which I highly recommend, btw

Hi we are the couple who saw you going in at Ginny& Jane ‘s restaurant. We are staying in Bradenton in a beautiful home until the end of the month. Definitely planning our next trip. It will be Orlando in November. Florida has always been our second home. Soon our full time home. Just looking for the right place for us. We have 3 Siberian Huskies. Tim, shiplap gets its name from ship building and is likely linked to a way of overlapping boards on the side of the ship to give a water tight seal. The boards are designed to be laid horizontally for water run off. Wainscoting is the name given to the panelling of internal walls (strictly only the lower part of the wall say from a metre to say half height). Wainscoting can use different panelling effects including vertical shiplap boards, framed panels using styles, rails and panels etc. So in short shiplap is the name of the board whilst wainscoting is the name of the panelling of a lower half of an interior wall.
I remember that house but it did seem more secluded from neighbours at the time, maybe some trees came down in storms? The lifestyle seems so idyllic and laid back, especially having the golf cart type vehicle. I wonder how it is for people who live there year round? I imagine it must get super busy in summer though. Great spot for a vacay!

Grouper! My favorite fish. I eat it so much in Fl. We would have loved to buy on AMI but the prices were too high. We have a place in Naples but try to visit AMI every year or two.

We stayed in a house up in NH and my MIL was not happy with the pots and pans there so she bought the house a whole new set because she wanted people to have a better stay there. This is so my Mother in law. she is always thinking of others to the extreme. 😊
the beer battered chicken tenders and fish are sooooo good from hurricane hanks if you've never been there! and Tim would love the burger from Smoqehouse in bradenton beach!
I think the woodwork in your bedroom is wainscoting since it is vertical and only part way up the wall. Shiplap generally covers the wall and is laid horizontally.

Hey Tim and Jen, as a Manatee Resident you should take a look at DeSoto park. It has nice nature trails and place you can put your feet in the river. It’s just really nice.

My aunt owns a beach house in Englewood, FL and people always buys stuff while they are there and leave it. A lot of children beach toys and umbrellas.

It's so weird seeing you guys drive that route. We live in Palmetto (just over the bridge from Bradenton), so Anna Maria Island is the beach we go to.... but we almost never go. :P

I’m sure people leave it. We’ve left stuff like sleds and snow items we have no use for back home. The first time we did it the owners said people do it and they just add it to stuff for people to use.
I'm not sure about beach stuff, but I know I've stayed in rental houses where people leave kitchen supplies. Not just food but things like pots and pans.
We went to Anna Marie in Ocotober for the first time and we cannot wait to go back. I dream of it everyday. Unfortunately the house we stayed at is no longer available for rent (or a new company is renting it and we can't find it). I'm looking forward to looking into where you stayed.

Hey Tim, we are researching AMI for a vacation and I wanted to ask you where did you rent your golf cart from?
to answer tim’s question at 4:30, sometimes it’s provided by the owner but sometimes it’s also provided by the realty company who the owner of the beach house has decided to be their realty company. so to go further into that, the realty company can offer the choice for renters of the beach house to rent beach gear for an extra fee for the week so that all the beach gear is there at the house when the renters get there! i know this bc my mom owns a beach house in the outer banks on Hatteras island! like those options are shown when someone is booking their stay at the house online. you could also rent bikes as well
EDIT: it’s not the realty company that provides rentals but the rental company you choose i think for your beach house. for example: Hatteras Realty is the realty company for our beach house but Vacasa Vacation manages the house and the rentals available (someone else may have explained it better than me but if someone reads this comment help me out if i didn’t explain it correctly)
I’d like to know what company you used for your golf cart or did it come with the place? It would be cool to surprise the family with one. We are going in July and I can’t wait!

Yes I believe things behind at rentals. You can't take it & you don't want to through it away because someone can use it.
When we fly to Florida from Massachusetts, we absolutely have bought beach toys, beach chairs, kitchen items etc. to use in our beach house rental for the week. Then we just leave it at the house because we can’t bring it home on the plane.

I live in Clearwater (recently moved from Jacksonville, FL) my in-laws live in Sarasota, we go out to Longboat Key all the time or Passage Key. Ya'll (I mean Jen because she loves seafood) have to try The Ugly Grouper which is towards the north end of the island, towards Bean Point or head to Tide Tables, it's on the bridge before heading to AMI!
If yall end up at Rod N Reel, you'll might end up seeing someone reel something in. :) But ya'll definitely have to check out Anna Maria Island out on a boat. It so beautiful! I love it when we go out boating on the weekends :)
AMI is our favorite place to be! The water is finally getting back to it's beautiful color since Red Tide is also not as bad. I wouldn't say its gone but definitely not as bad as it was.
That is totally a thing we vacation in Ocean City, NJ and every time we stay at a rental there boogie boards, chairs, sand toys that people have left behind. Matter of fact we have bought stuff at five below knowing we will leave it behind
