I've got a borador puppy the same age as Inertia and she got so excited about her first bath, that she now whines behind bathroom doors every time someone is taking a shower / bathing. When I let her in the shower with me, she goes nuts playing and chasing water :D I guess it's the lab spirit in her. She also never seems to get tired and naps very little, so we are progressing very slowly with the nail trimming. Thank you for these videos Zak, it's really fun and helpful to see, how other puppies learn about the world around them
Oh Zak.. I wish I had found you much sooner so I knew what to do with my dog. Inertia is such a cutie! Thank you for sharing with us :)
My dog still hates baths. Hates water in general. Hes basically a cat 😂
@@orinko That is wonderful! Just take what Zak says with a pinch of salt and always allow for variable change. Your Puppy should start to be let off the lead and given responsibilities immediately. Zak has off lead anxiety so says to keep them on a lead for 1 year! This however is not normal and especially for a Lab! Hood luck with everything.
@@E69apeTheMatrix420 Hi, you probably meant to send this to someone else and tagged me by accident ;)
I don't have a dog, but can't stop watching your videos!!

Zak, the only other thing I did to help with the bathing was to buy an inexpensive rubber bath mat to stand on which gives my pup more stability while she’s standing in the wet tub. Before the mat her feet kept sliding around and she wanted out, but now stable footing, no problems...
Thank you. This is an incredibly useful tip for those of us- like me- who have not had to tackle the bathing ritual yet. Ours is a three year old adopted lurcher- with a sweet disposition, classic prey drive, and love for all people and other dogs. He's a beauty with a long coat , super soft and colored like a tortoiseshell fox. Thing is, he's never been bathed before .Shocking ,but, hey!
@@valeriexjohnson I don’t think that’s a good idea. It would get stuck on the dogs nails.
Good call, idk why my crazy self didn’t think of that, I have been laying down a whole azz towel 😅😅 not necessary!
This man is so gentle and kind. Difficult to imagine he won't have the most brilliant, self- actualized and happy dog. Doesn't hurt that he has the most- potentially- clever, bright and happy pupper breed. He really understands the need to allow dogs to learn without pressure and loads of encouragement. Thank you for your videos, you have me hooked and I haven't received a single treat. Lol!
I trained my puppy in baths less treat wise, I kept him in the washroom as I ran the water, when he got curious he got attention then when the water was at the height I wanted I picked him up ( he was only 9 weeks so was very light ) and let his feet dangle in the water and it took 5-10 mins and he calmed down then I put him in, and got lots of pets when he was calm. He loves baths now and jumps in on his own even before the water is in the tube. He even plays with the water as it runs out of the tap XD
when i got my puppy for her first bath i put her whole body in a little tub full of water and she like it 😁😁😁

I’m getting a golden retriever and they love water and swimming so it shouldn’t be har
I have a dog who loves water. We got her a small dog pool in the summer and if you were lucky you could catch her jumping in 😂
EDIT: Okay, your tips are already working. I’m just slowing it down, less expectations and we’re both less stressed.

I look forward to these videos every week! I need to go back to basics with my 6 month old mini golden doodle and brushing. A near daily occurrence for this shaggy friend. What I did wrong was let him chew on whatever brush I wasn’t using. The ends are destroyed, less of a problem, the technique didn’t really work. Not afraid, but hates it, but that may just be his preference.
She is doing wonderful! As a dog trainer, myself, I thank you and appreciate all of your uploads. I use a lot of your ideas and methods in my classes. Thank you for all your help!!🐕🐕🐕🐕
Me preparing for a dog I'll get in 3 years Lol. Inertia is the CUTEST dog ever! Thank you Zak for making this series!
OML. Im preparing for a dog i get in 1 year! Lol ive already waited 1 year all i have to do is wait another year, im getting a German Shepherd.wby??
Lol my parents told me we were getting a dog 4 years ago and I’ve just got my dog a month ago

@@minikuikowaidesu7642 you finally get that dog
@@tanxyrogue847 no no in three years starting this year 😅😅
We are getting a new puppy soon, so I have been reading your book and my 8-year-old daughter and I have been watching your videos in preparation! She commented on how relaxed and calm you are with Inertia, that you speak quietly and take things very slowly. We're learning so much, thank you Zac! Greetings from us in The Netherlands.
NXKDXR so am I! I’m getting a Bernese mtn dog! What kind are you getting?
@@toffi5710 Oh my goodness, how adorable! When do you get to pick up your new BFF? We are getting an Olde English Bulldogge! We lost our beloved Pitbull last September, it left our family heartbroken! We are excited to welcome our new little pup into our lives, more than enough love to go around! Woohooo
NXKDXR aww... I feel sorry for you pittbull...may he rip....
,I’m getting my bff the 5th of may! She’s going to be 10weeks old! (I’m naming her codie). I love English bulldogs! With their cute little faces! My (human)bff has one!Do you know what you’re going to name him/her? Love from France!❤️
@@toffi5710 Thank you so much, Oh my gosh no way! We are naming our little pup Cody!!!! She will be just over 8 weeks old when we pick her up. What a coincidence, with the name! We will be getting her on May 8, so a couple of days after you! How exciting! Love from The Netherlands!
NXKDXR I am so happy! Just two strangers from other countries bonding over dogs! And oml its so cool that both our dogs will be called Cody/codie! The two Cody/ies! Do you know what color she will be? Love from France!
Your videos have endlessly help us to train our beloved boy, Miller. We adopted him 3 years ago. He had a lots of behavioral issues. luckily, we found your channel and followed and still follow your training videos. His separation anxiety has gone away and he is doing pretty well. Your method of training dogs involving the positive reinforcement is the BEST method to train our baby. We have learned from your awesome and informative trainings that the Endless unconditional love and unlimited paiteince are two keys ingeridents to successfully train any dogs. I wish people out there use your method to train their babies instead of using correction collar and other stress and fear inducing training methods. We adore all the unlimited time, endless patience, and unconditional love you spend to train your beloved Inertia and to teach us acting the same way. Thank you infinitely!!!
I adopted my 5y/o dog from a family that rehomed him becuase he barked alot and didnt listen. From your videos (the past month) i have already managed to get him under control on walks, around the house as well as learning tricks. You have taught me how to communicate with dogs. My Dog is a smart boy who wasnt given the attention, I feel sorry that his previous owners gave up on such a special and smart dog.
Literally watched this 3 hours too late.
Damn. This is the most helpful training vid I've seen. It shows the real puppy life. Not already trained pups. Patience!!!!!!!!!
Amazing! We got a border collie x kelpie puppy 3 weeks ago (11 weeks old now) and he is very energetic, biting, disobedient, etc. I’ve been watching your videos for only 2 days and trying your techniques with our pup and wow! He’s doing so well. Thank you so much for your videos.
Oh my gosh! Is there anything cuter than a puppy, straight after a bath?! What a stinkin’ cutie pie! She did so good! Thank you for another great, fun and educational video!
God bless and hugs to you, Bree and all the fur babies!☺️❤️
Not only inertia is cute , but she's the luckiest dog also to get a trainer like you Mr. Zak !!
Both cats and dogs are so intelligent, i cant choose.. Who else likes both equally
Puppies pick up on your energy and tone so I always treated my puppy like she was the sweetest (even when she was being a jerk) and kept cooing how pretty she is when brushed and now she lays on my lap and loves being brushed. Falls asleep and naps. ❤️🐶
This is my second time watching through the series as we got another new pup and still very much love the videos. They were super useful the first time and pretty much everything we tried to teach our first pup was learned as long as we were consistent. The things that we weren't consistent on are things that we still have to work on now, but it has helped with training the second one and being more consistent and meticulous. Thanks!
That was probably the cutest training session I’ve ever seen!! Inertia is so adorable!!!! 💙🐶
i know
Intertia is the CUTEST PUPPY EVER!!!!!
This was great! I love how clearly you emphasized that this is a long, slow process and it's really important not to push things too fast.
Inertia is very cute. And your videos are useful and fun without fail. I don't have a dog, but I'm applying your principles to train myself to take small easyy steps towards my own goals :-)
Love the new series. Keep up all your good work Zach!
Inerita is so cute
Thanks for showing so much detail, not edited
I’m taking SO MANY NOTES! I love this! I’ll be getting a border puppy and I love seeing how slow you go and brake everything up!
I'm only 11 I'm using my brothers email address but he was so helpful we read his books and watched his videos he was HELPFUL
I’ve got a nine week puppy and keep her in the bathroom when I shower, eventually curiosity got the best of her and she can in. We kept doing this and now we are getting her used to shampoo and it against her shin directly instead of far away
I love that you are getting her used to grooming her yourself. I groom my dog and I find it is a great way to build trust and bond. I'm loving the series.
It took me 4 months of training to get my rescue dog used to the electric hair clippers and almost 10 months to get her okay with nail trimming. I used your techniques and advice from your book and almost 2 years later now, Maggie handles bath and grooming days like a champ. Hard to believe when I first brought her home she was afraid of everything that involved grooming.
Thanks. We have a stray found 6-8 month old puppy that’s not been claimed so it looks like she’s staying. I’m watching these again. Not starting as a really young puppy and having no idea as to her background is making things more difficult. She seems to be a Border Collie/Sheltie mix so she’s smart and wants to please us. Knowing it may take more time helps. I appreciate your comments.
So good. Brings back memories of Chuck's first bath! 5 yrs later he absolutely loves baths!!💖
We want daily uploads
Love the "actual time" stamps. Super helpful reminder to stay patient.
Interesting. My dog, (about 2 years, we think, we don't know) is WAY MORE sensitive when she is tired. We didn't have her when she was as young as this and as a rescue we really don't know what her experiences were as a young puppy. We are just working on it slowly, but for her it seems to work better if we do new things after we got some energy out, but before she is tired.
I have a second new puppy and love all your techniques and positive instructions and lessons. Thank you for sharing all your training tips and life trips with us. You truly are an amazing trainer and I will always take all your training as part of my daily life with my pups.
I just love how she tried to escape 🥰absolutely precious

Just picking up our baby Saturday. A miniature dachshund... pray for me Haha!!!!! We have one we've had for 15 years but we were so young and unprepared for any sort of training. This time I want to be on top of it! Our 15 yo doesn't like his nail trimmings at all! I'm hoping we can get our little one used to it from the start!
That is such a beautiful border collie! I also have a border collie. His face is not white though. I just adopted him less than 2 days ago. He's 7 weeks old. He's so freaking cute when he runs, his ears flop!!!
This is what i do everyday! Watch this!
who else is binge watching these to get ready for their new dog
You have the patience of a saint ! Awesome !
I cant stop watching and I dont even have a dog I love this channel
How is she so adorable!??? 🥺🥺🥺
I have noticed that since you went and cuddle her, the ratio of being comfortable rapidly increased, she didn't evens shaked all that water off
So cute and wholesome
I am getting a new dog in a few weeks so I am watching your videos so I know what to expect.
Im getting a puppy after not having 1 since my dog and bestfriend rex passed away. Watching these videos is so helpful because i have no idea how to train a puppy properly.
she loves zak so much
Zak! I adopted a street dog who is maybe 8 months the same week you started posting with Inertia. It's been so helpful having these videos break down exposing my new dog to things. He didn't even know yes or no when I got him! We still have far to go with obedience training but he's doing great and so much less timid than when I first adopted him. He's such a delight. Thank you for these breakdowns
Love your videos I have a golden retriever puppy 11 weeks old
SHE'S SO CUTE
AWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! Look at that cute smile at 13:25 😊
Also just to say!! She is such a beautiful and happy looking puppy!!! i love her!!
I LIVE HER FANCE!!!!!! THE BEST PUPP FACE!
you are so gentle
You are hellping me get my parents say you can get a puppy think you so much!!!!!!
This makes me realize that my last dog was extremely well-adjusted. I adopted him from the humane society at 14 months old and never had problems with baths, nail clipping, fireworks, etc. He did take quite a bit of time to adjust to the dog park. I’m glad to learn what I need to do if my next dog has more trouble.
I’m living vicariously thru u right now Zack. I can’t have a puppy for awhile yet but watching these videos is nice. It’s like puppy time without all the responsibilities:)
I’m getting a golden retriever and your videos are very helpful
Watching this while sitting outside the puppy kennel (door open) while the puppy sleeps on her bed.
She can hear me clear my throat, comment on the learning game my 3 year old is watching, and hearing that I'm near her in her kennel while she sleeps, will hopefully help at 12 weeks (our 3rd day with the puppy) to not be afraid of being kenneled at night.
She’s sooooooo cuuuutttteee❤️
I want a puppy so badly! Love your videos!
So recently I did not know how to train my dog she was 1 year old, and I did not know how to bathe her, so I decided to put her in the shelter because I thought that was the most goodest thing to do for her because she would find a different family that would take care of her because I felt like she didn't get the love she did cuz I did not know how to train her so I've been watching your videos and I'm thinking of getting another puppy and trying to train it
13:30 sims's 4 background music :)).Zak, i love this series as i am going to get a dog.And seeing you not always succed or making some mistakes is calming me a lot.Thank you
This is really helping because im getting a puppy today, and it's my first time ever getting one!
This has been the best video I've seen from you. Lots of raw footage. Good job
You are so patient ..... wow
Inertia is amazing
Thanks for the training our new puppy doing great
i am getting a dog tomorrow and i have to make a playlist so this is helpful: )
This series is just the best thing for new puppy owners. Thank you so much for sharing Inertia's journey with you!!!
If u are calm, quietly encouraging them that they are alright and do it early they do get used to baths and relax, I fill the bath with about 10 cm's of warm water test it with my elbow like one does for a baby. My dog is 12 now she just sit there & licks me or the bubbles from her shampoo.
Looooove the "actual time" info!! This is a great feature, thanks for the whole video!!
Your videos are so easy to train my pup
Cuteness overload!!!😍
I’m getting a puppy in July and your videos are very helpful

Broo... I LOVE your puppy!
Good information!
I just tried your tips on brushing and cutting nails on my 3yo doxie and it worked beautifully! Also the first time I got to cut a knot in het ear hair by myself without anybody needing to help me or distract her! I’m so happy!
Thank you for very helpful information
I love these videos they are my favorite and i get exited when you make a new video
I put my dog in the bath day 1. It wasn't slow at all. He stunk like whatever he was doing at the breeder's house. He tried to jump out twice but it went pretty well.
to be honest i tought my dog how to sit by my self by my own idea but i tought him to give hand and talk by this yt chanel ty for the help
This is such an adorable video! Step by step xx😍
I have not had an access to the internet for a week and I really did not mind, but the only thing that has been bugging me was: what if there is a new episode? I would love to see more tranings and more Inertia 😁
This doggo is SO CUTE and smart 👏👏💜💜
Very nice training love you Zak
Thank you do much your training made a big impact on my pup
She's so cute!!!
Inertia is the cutest puppy I've ever seen!
Very informative and helpful. So adorable puppy.
Thank you so much for this Zak. We just got a new puppy a couple of weeks ago and we have been dipping in to your UA-cam series with Interia whenever we get stuck and need some tips. You make it so clear and easy. Great teaching style. 👍🏻☺️
