Yeah and how often do we have to keep saying this. Pointless crap like Madogga and unimportant ones like Minogue and Turner-even Annie Lennox come out with the usual samey love song crap, yet everyone treats them like the holy grail. Why?! Who does songs like Kim does? No one.
Lyrics: Mirrored in your face Is a look that says it all Boy I'm slow I've been uncertain Just couldn't be sure Now I know You say it's over But just how long have you known (you better go now) But as you leave me Shoot to disable Shoot to disable Maybe I got careless Maybe it's true I ran too fast But on recollection it didn't do much So I pass You're such a hard man Why can't you take steady aim (just get it over with) Don't fool around now Shoot to disable Shoot to disable Oh what a fool I was to love
On the contrary there was no 'selection'. 2! 2 is pathetic and 'Love Blonde' is quite dark anyway. 'House Of Salome' was the riveting 3rd but barely pushed anywhere-no video and she didn't promote it as she moved to MCA & viewed the album as a curse, so her fave song from the album at the time-'Stay Awhile' could barely follow. She, her labels, critics and even the audience couldn't be dumber regarding their criminal indifference to this wicked album. It's what she does these these days (i.e nothing but nothing and covers and carols that is the actual curse). Trouble is, even though the vast majority of her best stuff IS all her 80s records, the heavier stuff lyrically is deliberately never made for singles. There's nothing wrong with 'Dancing In The Dark', though the longer one should have been on the album instead of the edit. 'Dancing' is easily cooler than the love stuff from the "Close" album and the 90s stuff that follows, and back then, she didn't kill us with a million covers, she made original cool songs, the like of which we'll never have again.
Eins Ihrer besten Songs auf meinem Lieblingsalbum, echt klasse. One of her best songs. "Catch as catch can" is really a fantastic album, better than the other ones :)
It is the middle section of her career best three-beginning with "Select"-carrying on with this-and ending with "Teases & Dares" and while all that followed verge from good to great, they are still nothing on these 3! Take that "Close" junkies!
As it stands, It runs like this. Career Best Joint 3 = SELECT/CATCH AS CATCH CAN/TEASES & DARES. 2nd Best Joint 2 = ANOTHER STEP/COMPLETE 80S UNALBUMED SONGS (all 80s singles & b-sides). 3rd Best Joint 4 = CLOSE/COMPLETE 90S NON-ALBUM LOT/COME OUT AND PLAY/2010-present NON-ALBUM LOT. 4th Best Joint 3 = DEBUT/LOVE IS/NEVER SAY NEVER/NOUGHTIES NON-ALBUM LOT. 5th place = LOVE MOVES/SNAPSHOTS 6th place= NOW & FOREVER last place = WILDE WINTER SONGBOOK-always supposing anyone counts a Christmas 'album'. *Who knows where the new one will go-it's released today and I'm apparently picking it up later, but I think I can predict it will joint CLOSE and the others as the 5th in a Joint 4 of the 3rd best albums she's done, though there is the slimmest chance she'll shock me to pieces and it'll join ANOTHER STEP & 80S NON-ALBUM STUFF-God knows that needs another one, but that to me is highly unlikely, though if any album can do that, maybe this can. I just want to add God bless you for putting her career best 3 before any of the others, even if you don't rate them on the same level equally as me, but you get a Gold Star for rating CATCH two above CLOSE, a Silver for rating SELECT one above it and a Platinum star for putting TEASES a whopping THREE above CLOSE. I.e you'd get these ratings whichever way round you'd listed the career-best 3 and put above CLOSE! You've certainly proved that much of you is indeed The Great, dude (dudette?) Iskandar!
@sounds73....hab meinen Kommentar bzw. Deine Antwort darauf zufällig heute gelesen, weil ich wieder mal in meiner musikalischen Vergangenheit gestöbert habe.....ich kann mich Deiner Meinung voll anschließen, besser hätte man es nicht ausdrücken können :)
Yes you are-they say it clearly! Never mind-how can no one familiar with 'Love Blonde' gasp at the brilliance of the completely overlooked (and likely innocent at the time, but let's not spoil it ) following line: "NEVER LOOKING LEFT OR RIGHT COS SHE'LL JUST BLOW YOU...(perfect pause) OUT OF SIGHT!!!! How can ANYONE miss that, yet everyone seems too! Also there's others: What a pity she didn't state: "You never cared for anyone arsehole!" on the chorus of 'Ego'-but it's so easy to sing it over the word and then you start hearing it. Should have been that way, she's too prim to do this sadly. Even on 'Get Out' (and everyone swears today) you can sing: "Fuck you this is my life and I'm taking it back for the last time" and hear it really in there. I tell you what I hear in 'Suburbs Of Moscow'-on the 2nd verse, it really sounds like "clutching her boobs" rather than "books" There you go. All her career best albums mentioned in one fell sweep.
Never mind her Fantastic look boys this song is f***** brillant!

Kim is top!!! quality and classy
The bass on this especially at the beginning is great stuff.
It’s too bad Nouveau retired from making cool Kim Wilde videos. I’ll always remember and cherish those days!
Super Video, Klasse gemacht 🎉🎉
a typical cool Kim Wilde Song!!!!
I've been years searching for that song that took me back when I was 5 years old kid
wow ! this video is GREAT too !
Blimey, I'd forgotten how HOT Kim was!!
Her songs ain't bad either are they?! You forgotten that too., I presume?
Lyrics:
Mirrored in your face
Is a look that says it all
Boy I'm slow
I've been uncertain
Just couldn't be sure
Now I know
You say it's over
But just how long have you known
(you better go now)
But as you leave me
Shoot to disable
Shoot to disable
Maybe I got careless
Maybe it's true I ran too fast
But on recollection it didn't do much
So I pass
You're such a hard man
Why can't you take steady aim
(just get it over with)
Don't fool around now
Shoot to disable
Shoot to disable
Oh what a fool I was to love
What is the point
Best song from "Catch as Catch Can", which definitely suffered a misleading selection of singles.

DIS - ABLED on YOU - TUBE , then wot #KIM ?
Am I the only one hearing "shit" instead of "shoot"? Good song though.
