Also if you’re an avid watcher of my channel, you’ll probably have noticed that I’m not wearing my usual pink eyeshadow. I normally wear that or red/brown tones since I’m not that adventurous with my makeup ahaha but WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? Should I keeping trying out the blue at the moment or go back to pink? Let me know below 👇🏼❤️
A vid talking about the bars and clubs would be great! Even places to go for a night out were you don't necessarily have to drink (more activity-based I mean) would be super cool. It's nice to hear someone talk about NTU in such a positive light as well. Thankfully, all of my close friends are very supportive and know how good of a school NTU is but I have had some bad experiences from 1 or 2 so-called "friends" shitting on it. Mainly based on the fact that NTU isn't a Russel group or because it's a polytechnic, which I think is a bit daft. Polys are pretty great and I have other family members who have gone and have done really well for themselves because of it.
Sure I’m happy to do one! Have you checked out my “50+ places to go/things to do in Notts” video? I mention a variety of several non-alcoholic activities to do and sights to see in Nottingham if you’d find that helpful! 😊 Thank you and I completely get where you’re coming from! I’ve had a few people from my past treat NTU as inferior to other universities and as though you’ll get a crap degree from it, which is just nonsense. Nottingham Trent is such an academic university and you are going to have an amazing time here! All the lecturers push you to your potential and there’s so much help around you if you need it. I hate that people use polytechnic as an insult considering how modern and forward thinking NTU is as an educational institution. Personally I’d rather be at a forward thinking uni compared to an old prestigious one that may be stuck in old-fashioned traditions and ways of thinking. I’m glad you enjoyed this video though! ❤️
Great video! Do you know how freshers week is going to be this year? Are we still going to be able to go out, or is everything closed? (I am from Norway so I dont really know how the corona situation is there now...
Hey, thank you! Regarding freshers week, I’m not entirely sure not gonna lie. At the moment all UK clubs and indoor venues are closed for the usual clubbing/night outs/music events but several Nottingham clubs are hosting sit down music sessions where you can still experience the club and drinks/music but you are all sat at socially distanced tables. I’m hoping the clubs are able to work something out or the COVID situation improves, but until then I’m not sure what’s really going to happen with freshers week. I think NTU are going to try their best to give you guys an amazing week still though despite ☺️
Hello, I am actually considering both NTU and de montfort university for Computer science and I am quite confused between both but I noticed that overall reputation is much higher for NTU. Do you think that reputation matters THAT much, like to the point where my decision is based on it or do you think rank and reputability isn’t that important and I should look at other factors more?
Hey, that’s great you’re interested in possibly coming to NTU! Personally, I think it comes down to your own preferences and what you’re happy with. You should never feel you have to go to a certain uni solely because it’s high ranking, especially if you don’t like any else about it. I purposely avoided league tables when I applied because I didn’t want to go to a uni just for the reputation to then find I potentially hated the next 3 years of the degree. Everyone’s preferences are different though, and for a lot of people, uni ranks are important which is perfectly fair enough ☺️ I think you should weigh up what your preferences are when comparing unis - do you care more about its reputation than the course? Regardless though, I always recommend to consider the other factors e.g. location, campus facilities, nightlife, distance from home - because they will affect your uni experience more than a uni’s reputation will 🤍
Yeah it is 😊 Depends on your general preferences, but if you would like to be pretty much living on campus and have an en-suite, I would suggest Gill Street South, Byron, Gill Street North, Sandby. Hampden is also next to campus but it has shared bathrooms. Gill Street South & Byron are normally the most popular but also expensive ones due to their modern look. The Glasshouse and the company Student Roost are also good student accommodation places that are close to campus but arent NTU owned. If you don’t mind travelling to campus by bus you could try Norton Court or Meridian but those aren’t as popular student choices typically. I lived in Gill Street South for my first year and I really like it overall 🤍✨ Hope this helps!
Hey, Peverell and New Hall are both highly rated. Most of my friends from Clifton chose New Hall as it is the more popular choice. Both are within walking distance of Clifton Campus and next to on campus bus stops if you want to go to the city. Many people I know also live on City Campus, even if their actual lectures are in Clifton, because they want to be closer to the clubs/bars and wider variety of shops. It’s only a 20 min bus journey too so many do choose this option but it depends on your preference! ☺️
I recommend Homes for Students (The Glasshouse is one of their popular choices), Student Roost, IQ Student Accommodation, Russell View Student Accommodation, Goldsmith Court, Unite Students, and Mansion Place to name a few! There are so many amazing private accommodations that are situated walking distance from City Campus and all have different prices depending on your budget ☺️ Hope this helps! 🤍
Hi, I'm guessing you mean in Nottingham? Unfortunately since I'm a girl I don't have experience with male barbers. However, there is a variety of well priced barbers/salons in Nottingham that do cheap deals or student discounts, including Ted Barber and 20% off at Flint Barbers. Hope this helps!
So I'm American and I received an offer for NTU in Filmmaking. I was very skeptical about whether or not to take it because I heard that NTU doesn't have the greatest reputation, but I heard it's also good for art courses. I personally am not much of a partier. Not to mention I've gotten into Americans unis that are higher on the international scale. However, I really want to go to the UK. And yesterday at my highschool we had a hard lockdown due to suspect of a gun om campus. And the cops came over. It sorta confirmed to me I should go to the UK for the long term. Do you think I should? And is Trent fine for employability? I know Filmmaking is more about portfolio though.
Hi Emma, congrats on your offer to study at NTU! Yeah NTU does unfortunately have a reputation of being a stereotypical party uni but you’ll find most UK universities actually have the same vibe/lifestyle when you get there as that’s the general student culture. At the end of the day you should go with what you deem a priority whether that’s the uni’s reputation or the course. Personally I think if you really like the course and see yourself studying in the UK you shouldn’t let anything affect that. Many people who study at NTU don’t drink/do drugs and are studious hardworking people so it’s a real shame about the reputation. There are also lots of non alcoholic things/events to do in Nottingham. I hope yourself and everyone at your school is okay btw regarding the gun suspect, that’s so scary 😧 NTU is ace with employability too they regularly throw job fairs, industry weeks for creative courses like yours, CV workshops and much more! The staff are always so helpful and knowledgeable and I miss studying there 😊 I hope this helps!
@Gaia Rose thank you! That is very reassuring. I do hope I end up going. Everyone at my school is okay, thank you! It definitely was a moment of clarity for the type of country I live in. I just have to see how it all goes!
@@emmabennett7699 No worries! I’m really glad to hear ❤️ I wish you all the best with your decision and future studies! If you ever have any future questions about NTU or studying in the UK, feel free to send them my way! 😊
My sixth form wouldn’t officially diagnose me but gave me special exam arrangements so when I came to NTU I contacted student support services via their online self referral forms to get the full diagnosis and they booked me in with an Ed Psych to do a free evaluation on me. They then sent me my full diagnostic report so I could get a DSA (Disability Student Allowance) 😊 Hope this helps!
Hey, NTU might be stricter on parties/pres due to Covid but I doubt that’s going to stop students. You’re bound to find students breaking social distancing rules so I reckon yeah there will be still be some parties. It depends on your preference and music genre, but my personal favourites are Rock City, Rescue Rooms and Pom Pom. All offer different rooms of music. If you’d like, I can do a video on ALL the clubs in Nottingham if you’d like? 😊

Where can a guy get a haircut for cheap? On a budget so an expensive place wouldn't work 😅
