This made it where you can run zone you just can’t sit in the paint without your man. This made it where you could zone guys out of games if they didn’t have shooters around them. It’s why the league has shooters at almost every position now.

That 04 Pistons team is what really got me into basketball. Pistons are still my favorite team to this day but they would have zero chance matching up with that 2017-18 Warriors squad with KD. People forget the Warriors were a Top 5 defensive team every year when they were running through the league on top of being probably the best offensive/shooting team in league history. Warriors would probably sweep the Pistons, especially playing with todays rules.

That Piston's team wasn't a very good offensive team for it's time. What Rip did back then was fairly special, but it is in most teams base offense today. Rasheed wasn't a juggernaut player. He was great and a perfect supplemental Star piece for that team.
The Warriors in '17 was the 2nd best defensive team in a league that also scored more than anyone else. The Piston's offense would be considered terrible in today's NBA... Their defense which was very good against iso teams, would struggle against a team that mastered the motion offense.
Name me a team the Piston faced that year that was equivalent to the Warriors? This argument is stupid... No one was able to contain the Warriors' perimeter play and cutting schemes. Ben would've had to defend on the perimeter whether he wanted to or not. None of the great perimeter players of that time had issues scoring against that team, but I am supposed to believe the best perimeter trio in the history of the game was going to get locked up by a team who was more built to guard the interior?
Grant Hill, Iverson, Carmelo Anthony, Ray Allen all had great games against that team with no other complimentary Star player. In 2017, KD and Steph were better than these players, and they were on the same team... But they were going to stop them and Klay? Terrible take.
