Rasheed Wallace Gets Pissed, Takes Over (2004 NBA Finals - HD)

  • June 13, 2004 - After being mired by foul trouble and plantar fasciitis through the first three games of the 2004 NBA Finals, it turned out to be Los Angeles Lakers reserve forward Slava Medvedenko who served as the catalyst for waking Rasheed Wallace from his slumber. Slipping in a stray elbow to Wallace's midsection midway through the third quarter of Game 4, Medvedenko beared the brunt of the response, with Wallace targeting Medvedenko in the post in the mini-altercation's immediate aftermath.
In all, Wallace finished with a team-high 26 points, 13 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 assists in an 88-80 win, placing the Pistons squarely on the brink of earning their third NBA championship in franchise history.

The best part of the clip is before the second basket when Rip swings it to Chauncey, who immediately send it back pointing to Sheed. Dudes mad. Easy points when sheed is mad

I loved listening to Al Michaels forced to create superlatives to describe the Pistons. The whole media thought the Lakers would take the series and be lucky to get a game.
What they didn't realize was that the Finals had already happened against Indiana. Lakers would've had major trouble with them also.

The mafia favorised Lakers during those years. FBI opened some investigastions, but of course nothing happened. So glad that Pistons whooped their asses back then.

Rashid was the hot head of the league back then. I wanna say he lead in technical fouls. That time period of basketball was great, brings me back to my highschool years. That Detroit team was great.

1 of the most talents pf’s of all time. Doesn’t have the numbers to prove it but I remember there wasn’t 1 guy he wouldn’t give it to when given the chance. This finals he put Malone into retirement as well.

Perfect example when u put talented team together. Sheed got a bad wrap in Portland.
All it really took was for him to come some place where the environment was different. And they just needed that extra sauce to take them far. Sheed was that answer

Between 1:32 and 1:35, either Hamilton or Billups would’ve taken that shot in today’s NBA. The game had changed so much.
