Lance Whittaker, a veteran sports journalist who has covered five Olympic Games, is correct when he said that Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce no longer has anything to prove to the world. She already reached unbelievable heights in her career, after all.
Lance’s Zone Interactive co host Ricardo Chambers, who also happens to be a Jamaican track and field athlete, took it a step further and said, [5:09-5:15] Well, the face of track and field - Chamber’s words - is planning to add more to her legacy, whether a gold medal or new record at the fast-approaching Paris Olympics.
So, to start her 2024 Olympic journey, the legendary Jamaican sprinter graced the track a few days ago after a 10-month-long hiatus. As you all know, the 37-year-old, fondly known as the “Polly Rocket” has been dominating the tracks for over a decade now. But this year, the five-world title holder is back to compete in what will be her fifth Olympic run.

I fully agree that Shelly has nothing more to prove to the world, she is the face of female sprinting, and I don't think many people would disagree with that statement.
Especially now that Allison Felix, the other universally liked and respected "ageless wonder", has hung up her spikes. Shelly is the only non-American sprinter I ever root for in the Olympics.

@@cochise4390 ahhhhhh….AHA! Welp…let’s just say, you don’t have to say much to convince me you’re correct! I’m not gonna call out any specific names, but you are totally correct these times are “assisted”. ShaCarri has shown 10.6 shape since 2019, Elaine has shown 10.6 shape prior to injury, but absolutely no one else has ever come close to even giving a HINT of such! Also, go back onto world athletics and look at the progression of all the top athletes before they became stars…their times dropped overnight!!! So, yup…LOL, I’m with you here.
It’s just, I also know this is a very dirty sport and likely the majority are on at least some certain things (there is a group of things most coaches are giving to athletes and cycling). So, the only parts I question are the actual times. As far as the performance, Shelly Anne still has my utmost respect, because on it or not, since so many people use these things I don’t think the placement of the athletes really changes much…only the overall times. I’m not stupid, though…I’m with yah!!!

GO USA..... let's be clear, no rational person would think that the pocket rocket is not one of the final two athletes in the 100m GOAT discussion. The argument against our Flo Jo is shellys longevity at the pinnacle, so i have no problem giving her the flowers.....And just as important, she has shown the very best of class... all that confidence never ever crossed to cocky... Good luck to Shelly and the Jamaican team.... we can wish the best and still hope that our best is better... thank you, Shelly...and.. GO USA....
Shelly ann is the greatest women sprinter of all time. Maybe not the fastest of all time but damn close and nobody has made that kinda run for that long. The only other athlete i can think of that stayed that high championship caliber in an indiviual sport for that long is manny pacquiao

Sha'carri is great but calm down...this video is about the GREATEST OF ALL TIME, Shelly has 8 olympic medals and 16 world championship medals, not to mentiona Shelly has run the most sub 10.70s in history, stop the cap... when it comes to international track and field, Sha carri is still sucking on breast milk. lets talk in like 16 years ( which is how long Shelly has been in the game) when Sha carri has actually gotten a chance to get some experience. in terms of Womens Sprints currently...only Shelly and Elaine can talk about goat status. Shelly has 8 olympic and 16 World Championship medals, Elaine has 6 olympic and 4 world championship medals. Shelly has gone sub 10.70 nine times, Elaine 4...and on the all time list the only woman that is faster than them is Flo Jo ( and we all know about her). Also Elaine is the only woman to run a 10.5 since Flo Jo, and only her and Flo Jo have gone sub 10.60s. Elaine holds the olympic record. One had consistency and one had otherworldly moments whilst continually battling injury. They are currently, the two greatest female sprinters of all time, regardless of where they are at right now. I wanna believe that Flo jo has some legitimacy because he running form was literally perfect, and why I lean towards that she may not have been on drugs is actually ONLY due to that 4x400m finals in Seoul when she couldn't catch Bryzgina.

As An American ShaCarri is going to have to take down at least Flo Jo’s 100m to become the legitimate face of Sprinting because between ETH and SFP they’ve almost done it all. She’s going to have to go God Mode in the Olympics. She have the tools and top end speed to do it but she need to fix that start and it’s UP. 🥇
