- I thought it was time do a clean out of my palette collection. Please note that all of the old/expired palettes have already been thrown away and all of the new-ish/good condition palettes have been happily re-homed. I don't understand the Morphe palettes. Most have the same color with only a shade or two lighter/darker. Seems like a waste of money.
Yes they definitely are same same but if you enjoy that particular shade then its not a waste of money :)
Recently they have done a great job at expanding their horizons with color, and their formula has improved

I like your declutter style. I become anxious when I watch some declutter more than 50% of their collection. It is as if none of the products are important to the person. I especially appreciate you keeping palettes that were gifts. This just seems more realistic to me.
Lisa R Agree! It seems far more calm and collected and you don’t get the feeling that things are being decluttered impulsively and maybe just for the sake of it!
It's probably because she actually thought about the things she bought in the first place. And I also appreciate there's some variety in her collection. I swear I've watched so many declutters where they lose 50 percent of thier collection and them have like 50 identical palettes left.

Ugh Kat I just love your videos, but this one especially was just great. You just hit all the right notes- part collector, part practical use, part you tuber, part nostalgia, always a makeup lover at heart. I think your style resonates with me so much because you are so matter of fact in your videos and personality in general I’d assume, yet you still have a soft emotional spot for your makeup. Okay I’m done gushing I just loved this video. I’d watch you declutter all day:)
I would love to see you pan/use the KVD alchemist palette! I'm not a fan of her, but I bought that palette when it came out and I find it to be pretty versatile
Veronica Z I actually panned one shade in mine a little while ago and it’s a really easy one to pan! The formula is dusty, so it goes fast but it’s very pretty when it’s on
Alchemist looks great over black, but it stinks for like 10 mins after. And I am not the most sensitive person. I keep it to create interesting eyeline sometimes, but that's that.
I get excited every time I see that Linda Halberg quad! I still want that one so bad!

Wow, great job on the awesome declutter! I'm someone who always ums and ahs about buying new palettes to the point where I usually miss out on them which means I don't usually have this problem, but I recently decluttered my wardrobe and wow, it's an amazing feeling!
Decluttering is hard for me because I have so many that I haven't even tried yet 🙈. Gonna try a project pan, 1 month 1 palette or something like that during my no-buy. Great video, thank you!

I enjoy declutter videos so much. I don't know why. They are just both fun and relaxing? Also kind of like mini reviews I guess because you helpfully give some easy reasons about why you're getting rid of things.

I can't never declutter my makeups especially big eyeshadow palettes which I spent so much money on, but I do give away some makeups to friends n sisters occasionally. I wasn't really into eyeshadow in the past, but once I start buying, I ended up collecting more than I need them. More like an addiction! Love your eyeshadows collection & declutter. I like to watch makeup declutter videos but I feel awful at the same time 🤦🤦😂
I organized most of my makeup today, I couldn't handle it falling and breaking anymore. I need to do a declutter, but it's so hard!!! While I dont have the collection of some, it's big enough and I know I'll get more. Great job on what you were able to purge and rehome!

I rediscovered my Lorac Mega Pro palettes recently. I kept #1 & 4 & decluttered #3 to someone who would get better use out of those colors. I found I prefer them over the 12 pan Pro. They are the only "big" palettes I have & #4 has become my travel palette because it's got everything--the warm neutral mattes I like, the shimmer lid shades I like, & some interesting colorful metallics & duochromes. I'm glad I was inspired from watching your channel & took the time to get to know some of my palettes better :)
Hi Kat , i had a brain storm and when we went into lockdown i decluttered all my makeup , i only kept i product from a category, i had a full collection of ABH , Two Face , Tarte , i decluttered all of them , all my Estee Lauder , all my other products too , its taken me a year to replace everything, i only use high end luxury, products , now my last product came this morning , nowi only have eyeshadows which are quads , five pans six pans , i think i bought out charlotte tilbury as i really love her , being in the UK its difficult to buy colourpop its cheaper to buy charlotte tilbury and already using estee lauder i also use their makeup too takes up alot of my storage . now sitting down to do my makeup is fabulous its just makesme happy .. all shades are perfect no longer making do , using products i always wanted , all my eye pencils and lip pencils are estee lauder , my lipsticks are all bullet , charlotte Tilbury nudes collection, estee lauder pinks through to red , makes selecting a lipstick easy , ,i did treat myself to two quads one six pan of pat mcgrath and i love them i cannot afford a mothership , but never mind i can enjoy what i have , along with my mini natasha denona s
This declutter was soooo relaxing! I just purged some of my makeup as well, and i got rid of all of my morphe palettes - they just don't work for me! They look gorgeous on a lot of my friends and even my mom, but I just could not get them to blend or look nice at all 😡😭 But hey, now I have room for some more eyeshadows (and lippies... I may have a slight addiction there) ❤️

Oh my gosh! Those old bare mineral quads were the first eyeshadows I ever owned and I panned several of them. They were literally the best!!

I only have one really nice pallet and I just hit pan on my favorite color in it yesterday, but it was really nice to see it in your declutter and to hear that you loved the colors as well. ( it's the toofaced lifes a festival aka giant squishy rainbow)

The milky palette is so cute !! I'm thinking of getting rid of all my large palettes and replacing them with four/six pan palettes so I know for sure I'll use all shades. But it is so hard to declutter palettes !!

omg the Gwen Stefani palette! What a throwback! I used to be so ruthless with not keeping stuff for too long and now I've come to the waning months of 2019 and I'm regularly using a Too Faced palette that's so old that it's still in the TIN PACKAGING (it's the Totally Cute palette for the record, which no one seemed to like bc of the stupid stickers but holy shit the palette is so good). Whatever, it's still good and I still love it so I'm gonna use it.

Dang it, Kat. I just convinced myself not to buy that Too Faced festival palette after seeing reviews that the shadows wear off very quickly & it has lots of fallout. You wanting to keep yours & how tempting you made it sound, makes me want it again.😫
Edit: I swear I didn't mean to sound whiney lol. I just have a small budget & I'm waiting for ColourPop to restock the Rainbow palette & Managerie's Violet Ink palette so I'm torn between waiting for those or buying the Too Faced palette that's expensive, even on sale lol. Love your videos.😁
Such a great declutter, love hearing all your thoughts. I’ve found my handmade shadows will do that if stored vertical and I now store then in a drawer flat (if that makes sense)
Yeah I generally try to keep them flat for the same reason. These cracks happened with general use, so they are unusually fragile which is a shame

You did great, I find it so hard getting rid of stuff! Would love a one month with kvd saint and sinner...i got it on release and have felt overwhelmed by it and so it's sat with barely a tickle. It's a shame as it's gorgeous but I don't know where to start 🤣
I just pulled mine out to finally use for the first time last week 🙊 but I used it every day that week and discovered once I started actually using it that it wasnt so overwhelming anymore. I ended up with a nice mix of bright obnoxious looks and more toned down "normal" looks and I was really pleased. I hope you end up liking it!

Kat! My burgundy shade in my metal matte went funny too! It went all chalky and discolored. Strange.

Hey, we have something in common! I am newly obsessed with Colouredraine, too. But, to be honest, I think being able to repress eyeshadows in alcohol without destroying it is a myth. I just put them in a small container in a bead box these days.

That pbj too faced is my fav travel pallette and I get complimented whenever I wear it! Also that kvd metal matte colorstory makes zero sense. I have it away because I couldn't figure out how to use it
I like all my ABH pallets too. I used to really be about Too Faced, but lately, nah. I do still have the natural eyes and natural mattes and use them. I might get rid of the peachy mattes one.

This is an insane amount.. when you collect I’m curious what do u do with an extremely old palette that’s not usable anymore and yet you want to keep it for your collection? Does it just sit there ? I just don’t get why you would keep it and what would be the purpose of it.. no hate I’m just really interested
I use my makeup. The good thing about eyeshadows is that they don't go off for years and years and years. If I won't use it, I don't keep it

Morphe is just bad quality. Do not spend your money on cheap and awful makeup. Maybelline is cheaper and doing a better job.
Alexandra Kuznetsova believe it or not, but some Morphe quality can be quite nice and great value for money, some also can be pretty average.. But just because it's cheap, doesn't mean it's bad, and just because something is expensive, it doesn't mean its good. That's a trap that many people fall into.
Yolanda - Yoda The Wise Call me crazy but I don't think I will use the Sleeping Beauty Palette. I see it as more of a collector piece :P
@@KitschSnitch Well, let's say 90% of the cases cheap means bad when it comes to stuff you actually put on and in your body. You pay a lot, as the ingredients used are better and if not take care of the skin at least not destroy it. And then there is the 10% everyone will give as an example.
It is all about getting excited and getting the chills from the whole experience too. There are the collectables where you get nice packaging, good product and a crazy prize tag too (Pat, Natasha... even some influencer's brands), BUT regrading Morphe, I have one small 15-pan and the James Charles collaboration. James Charles's metallics are fine, but the mattes and especially the pressed pigments are just ridiculous. There was a bright one that stained my eyes for 2 days with a primer. And those who do not stain are hard to blend. Example for expensive and uninspiring: MAC offers great quality, but everything is boring. Nevertheless, I will go and buy their stuff because it works.
If you want to support Morphe though, you can always go with the brushes. They are fine... even though Zoeva's are better, but hey, let's say something nice about Morphe 😁
That's actually a bit of a myth in makeup since makeup is generally made with the same basic ingredients - micas and binders. Most of the time increased price doesn't mean better ingredients, it generally means more money spent on marketing and packaging. What you like comes down to personal preference, some people (like me) look at the quality of the eyeshadow to see if they are worth the money, and other people like the experience of luxe makeup and don't like using products that feel cheap. From my experience if you take away the bells and whistles, mid range makeup generally performs better than high end or luxe, and at the end of the day the look it creates is generally what I value more than the box it comes in.

Would you say the natasha denona palettes are worth the price? Just because you mention pat McGrath palettes are not? X
Probably not, but I think they are better value than Pat Mcgrath. I think you generally get more bang for your buck with Natasha Denona and her shimmer formula is quite nice, but I still expect more for the price tag. I think they are only worth the money if you find a colour story that you will use every day and get a lot of use out of.

When you repress the eye shadows, and add something to help it repress, does that technically change the formula? I'm just curious, because you expressed being disappointed that some repressed eyeshadows didn't hold up well

Have you ever regretted getting rid of a product? Recently got rid of my UD Naked Palette 1 because i was worried about expiration dates and it making my eyes itch but i feel sick regret whenever i think about how hard it was to get that product in Canada, back in the day.
Not too often. I try to not get rid of products that I will regret throwing out, I keep things well last expiry

Ooh that’s a hard one. They are both very different and which one is better just depends on personal preference

I would inspect the shadow surface of the urban decay shadows (especially the Gwen Stefani) because I had my smoky palette for years and then one day it had dots and miscoloring on the surface of the shadows and I had to throw it out.

I keep repurchasing the first naked basics for one shade 🤦🏻♀️ naked 2 is my perfect transition shade, the other colours in it are nice but not something I use up. I need to find a better home for my naked 3 as I got an allergic reaction from one of the shades (and only 2-3 of them work with my colouring anyway).
Also, I just realized I think your OG palette declutter/collection vid was the first of your videos I ever watched

Yeah I was sad about decluttering the first one, but the second one always made me look like I was punched in the eye haha. I haven't used them for close to 3 - 4 years so it's time they went :)
It's hard to toss Urban Decay and Too Faced. I use mine all the time. I only keep the peanut butter/jelly palette for the purple shade. I just love it, but the others I never use. lol Good declutter!
