I've had the problem of intermittent sparks with the LabCoatz circuit!
I solved it by using a self-oscillation circuit on the feedback input of the 74HC14 with a feedback transformer instead of the antenna.
It's always good to see good content creators making good content about Tesla Coils!
Looking forward to the new videos!

How is this video at 1.9k views and u only got 200 something subs? U work is fantastic, engaging, not 5 hours long, results, lots of HV. The production quality is there too. I like the gymbal. Adds allot to see some one move around. So cool. Cant wait for the driver circuit!
I doubt it will happen but I really want a nasty hand held version for halloween. I don’t remember who made the coil pack, where it looks like they a damn ghost buster. They should have used tesla coils in ghost hunters

Yes! It takes forever to wind a good coil by hand

Haha, how it actually gazed back at 21:17. Great video! keep it up!

I use a drill motor and adjustable speed controller and a vice to hold the coil then hand feed the wire on to the Tesla tube and doing it like I do would only take me 60 seconds from start to finish with no overlapping of wire and no gaps

You do know aluminum tape exists? You didnt have to do the whole wood glue thing...

I still need to finish my Tesla coil project.. shame they need so much room really. Regardless I enjoyed the video and have subscribed 😁

I feel you, First time I wound a coil, it was with 28 gauge wire which was never a problem, finished on high speed in 15 mins. But trying 38 gauge wire was hell.

I tried making a mini coil with super fine wire, like the kind in pickup and stuff. Wasn’t till later I learned that it’s just too fine with a voltage that is too low. Then i made one with 38 or 40 and that would not work with 12 volts. It’s probably because i used BJTs. But holy cow! Noone told me that after my first coil id have the urge to build hundreds more, meanwhile coil is super expensive and the thicker u go, the less u get.
Anyway, I think the skin effect probably has a big effect on coupling. I also think the more mass you have, is probably more better. Happy winding

I'm into the tuning stage of my coil and am finding a desperate need for proper/safe/accurate measuring tools that wont fall apart at the high frequencies and high voltages generated. Any chance you could put some affiliate links in the description for the scopes and probes you were using?

I wonder if you can stack these for higher coupling for VTTC use..

Very scary results from the volt meter...... so just blame voltaire if you get an electric shock. Who invented currents and sultanas I cant remember 😂😂😂

maybe you could try using antenna feedback

My LabCoatz also works very well but when I switched from antenna to secondary feedback it works poor to worse. What is your feedback ratio on primary feedback 1000:1? ua-cam.com/video/mZoClrkDW_Y/v-deo.html
