  • #EddieGeorge has been named the new head coach of #TennesseeState University and will take over the #HBCU program.
This is what I call the #DeionSanders effect on HBCU sports and specifically HBCU football. I love this hire and why I believe Eddie George will succeed.

Don’t forget we already have DRC ( Dominique Rogers-Cromartie) as 1st yr DB coach! The NFL experience is here so we should be good!

So up and coming coaches who has worked thru the ranks get bumped by high profile guys with no coaching experience.

Listened up to 2:51 mark and stopped . The points made are totally Business Drivers and needs of The School . But seriously selling the point that he knows football as a factor for success doesn’t quite nail the move. Compliance is a very hard aspect of coaching in the NCAA. Coaching in a 20 hour work week, including game time is a ART. This transaction is not complete and more has to be revealed to make it a success. Knowing X’s & O’s is just enough to violate the RULES.

Hope it goes well for bro. We all know that he only got one shot. Also Deion was giving maximum resources to do what he is doing. Is TSU going to give the same🤔

The school is going after the State for millions of dollars owed. They probably have a plan to use some of those funds for athletics..of I could be wrong 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@muletowndumpsters Its land grant money that they cant deny them and I dont think it can be used to enforce curriculum. I've never attended an HBCu so I'm not sure how that dynamic works. You seem to be in the know on the topic so I'll take it that you are probably right. Thanks for the info, I will definitely do some more homework on it though. Peace Brother!

Stop comparing these guys to Nick Saban, he has Head Coaching experience and he was a champion before he went to coach on the nfl level.

Deion Sanders has been coaching for a long and has won championships at every level. Give him a little time, this his first year at the collegiate coaching level. Even though this is huge for HBCUs, I don't want ex-NFL players treating these coaching jobs and a gigs or fad. HBCUs really need exposure to get additional funding.

@@TuT1970 Same thing can be said about all of Nick Saban's assistant coaches who are now head coaches.
