      TSU alumni should financially support. People always speak about how they love their HBCUs post pics wearing the apparel but some of them don't want give money, buy tickets, season tickets. Get upset when you mention it.

      @@capullen4016 Buying apparel, wearing the apparel, and posting pictures wearing the apparel… what’s that if not love and support? They didn’t get the gear for free. They could always, not wear it. They could always, not post about it. All of which display love and support for the school. Ed said, “I wish they would’ve stayed after the bands left at the half.” That means they bought the tickets. Which means they came they saw and they weren’t compelled to stay. How is that the fault of the fans? “I think it is entertaining”, said Ed about his team, “Finding ways to win.” And clearly the TSU faithful disagree. He encourages folks to come out to the game and generate the energy to help the players but he told us they came. The second half saw the tigers generate 7pts, meaning 70.8% of their total score happened in the first half. But the fans don’t love the game, that’s why they left. How about a coach that started the season losing 56-3, not preach to the fans about loving the game and instead take a different direction when trying to sell this this boring ass team. Weak.

Can Eddie use his connections as a former player to get a better deal? Should play on campus and demand $$ from the state to improve facilities. I heard him speak on that issue.

    Why are they playing at the Titan's football stadium? TSU does not sell enough tickets to pack the first level. And on top of that The Titans can charge whatever they want to charge for parking and using the facilities. I hope they are not crumbs for using the facilities. TSU alumni should help support financially, I know they have sponsorships, but the decision has to be made to buy tickets, donate back.

    We need a second FCS Bowl game… there will be at least 2 less than “4 loss” teams that would be able to provide a second bowl game… that could be compelling and potentially create a “Plus one” scenario that would be a pathway for a real Black College National Championships.

    • @darrell5906

      Good idea since the Celebration bowl has become a much bigger event than even the D1 FCS Championship game. (tv viewership, attendance, influence, etc;) but I believe TSU, Hampton, & NC A&T, would not be eligible because of their affiliation with D1 FCS non HBCU conference.

    • @owenlawson8660
      @owenlawson8660 11 місяців тому +3

      Agreed which is why the best solution is for the HBCU’s to make a clean break from NCAA… NCAA is nothing but a payday loan outfit/modern-day sharecropping arrangement. Not one HBCU in FBS… when has the NCAA ever been a financial windfall for HBCU’s… I’ll wait for that answer.
      NCAA needs to be broken-up… it needs a competitor… Working with non-power 5’s and picking off some NAIA top programs, there is oxygen for a new inter-collegiate arrangement that provides a better deal for schools and a fairer compensation model for athletes that does a better job of sharing the wealth.

      The IVY League and Pioneer League (who prefers and wants to go back to the bowl games) have suggested to work with the SWAC and MEAC to have a Bowl Challenge between the SWAC,MEAC, IVY League and Pioneer League. The Celebration Bowl (SWAC Champion vs MEAC Champion) and the Gridiron Iron Classic Bowl (IVY League vs Pioneer League Champion) would still be kept, included and would be the top 2 bowls of the bowl Challenge (equivalent to the BCS Bowls
      The Bowl Challenge would consist of the top 3 or 4 teams out of each conference outside the Conference Champions and must be .500 and or above to be bowl eligible. The winning conference out of the Bowl Challenge (IVY League, Pioneer, SWAC, MEAC who has the most wins, conference gets a Payout donated to them between 2 to 4 million dollars. Each of the regular bowl games outside the 2 major (Celebration Bowl and Gridiron Classic) will have a Payouts between 300k to 500k which will be equivalent to the out of conference money games. This Bowl new bowl system would encourage the conferences more incentive to be competitive,even if they aren't in the conference Championship picture,they'll still have an incentive to finish strong and fight to be bowl eligible just like FBS. Especially for the SWAC and MEAC it gives programs more exposure and postseason opportunities.

      @@charleswebsterjr.6350 would the suburb HBCU’s be eligible to receive an at-large offer? That is the piece that I’m wanting to see… an on the field FCS HBCU National Championship pathway… Celebration Bowl gets us halfway there but there needs to be a way for a TnState, NCAT or Hampton to qualify for a post season Bowl game if they have less than 4 or 5 losses.

    The Titan's stadium is neither convenient for students nor the surrounding community. When I was a student, we were able to come to the game at Hale stadium when it was convenient.
    Leaving after halftime has been the case for decades; especially when the quality of the program or team is struggling. The infrastructure of Nashville has not kept up with the population growth. What used to be a 10-minute drive is now more than an hour. There are several factors impacting attendance. Love of the university is not a major one.

    Football sanctimony. Lame. Haven’t had a game with 200 yards passing this season. Hasn’t scored 30pts since October of 2022. I’ve watched every game this season… attended 1… it was a bore. I love sneakers… should I wear shit boots to prove I love them? Just another PWI attendee not understanding what HBCUs are about. As for giving him extra love… why? Mans is 9-13. Can’t support dude because he’s skinfolk; use your heart and not your eyes.

    • @owenlawson8660
      @owenlawson8660 11 місяців тому +1

      I don’t think the implication was skinfolk must support.
      He’s winning… “it may be 3yards and a cloud of dust boring”… but he has the program on the right trajectory.
      His point is that HBCU attendees and supporters should invest and reward programs for progress made… which he has done.
      Your narrative interpretation seems to be borderline over-reach. As a PWI attendee, your welcome to support but never feel compelled to support something that you feel DOES NOT support you or represent your values! It’s some free council… probably worth what you paid for it!!!!!
      Be great today Goose14

    • @goose14yess
      @goose14yess 11 місяців тому +1

      @@owenlawson8660 I do think the implication was/is we should support him because he’s black.
      The reasoning of extended support was because he’s high profile. Not because the program is headed in the right direction. Not because he proffers a fun experience. Not because of allegiance to the program.
      He’s winning sometimes. He’s 13-15 as a HC (a correction from my og post), lost the first game of this season 56-3, and managed to score a massive single touchdown in the 2nd half of the game he’s complaining folks didn’t stick around to see.
      "it may be yards and a cloud of dust boring" but nothing. He doesn’t have the program on the wrong trajectory. But what evidence do you have to say they’re, “on the right trajectory.”, because I don’t see it. And I’d imagine having to ask fans to stick around after your homecoming game is the wrong trajectory.
      “His point is that HBCU attendees and supporters should invest and reward programs for progress made... which he has done.” Please inform me as to how he’s invested and rewarded the program for progress made. And in addition to that, what are the verity of sectors that you invest and reward for progress?
      Explain to me the points of borderline over reach. Odd juxtaposition of OVER-reaching but just borderline; laughably odd. “As a PWI attendee, you’re welcome to support but never feel compelled to support something that you feel DOES NOT support you or represent your values!” Exactly. Tell this to Ed.
      Do you not find it wild, at best, that the fans who just showed you they don’t value boring ass football are being compelled to support something that DOES NOT represent their values?
      I’d argue if it was council at all, but sure, it was certainly worth the price I paid!!!!!
      I will not be great today.
