I love this man. It's ironic how he's admittedly not an effects pedal kind of guitarist - but with "Satisfaction" he's pretty much single-handedly responsible for the fuzz-tone craze that continues with all kinds of effects pedals to this day.
If he was literally the coolest person on the planet he would have lower body temperature then the rest of us, and that would be a severe medical condition. Please learn the proper use of the word 'literally', or just stop using it entirely.
Trying to learn a few licks at 76 and then understanding Open G 5 string tuning. Ah, light bulb moment. So much fun to be able to play that simple but such a great sound. He is the man !
Hi Keith, when I was young in 1966 I couldn't wait to hear ruby Tuesday every morning before I went to school it's such a great recording, I always preferred the stones because the sons were so good and I think you guys were the first punk type band that where really good musicians, my friend Bernard who met you once said you were grand and from what I heard you liked him he was with Rick Reisinger I think, he was my mate in school growing up. It's a shame he took his own life, in my mind your one of the greatest guitar players in the world with all the beautiful cords and notes you've played over the years there riffs you could never forget when you hear them. I also love Charlie he's a great drummer and I've emulated my drumming style after him, cheers, warren
Someone once asked Keith Richards what would he be if he could be anything else other than himself. Keith replied, a Tyrannosaurus Rex twice as big as any other Tyrannosaurus Rex.
They never mention the fact that he plays the guitar tuned as a five string banjo. Played banjo all my life and I sometimes tune the guitar this way, so I can play lead guitar. Yep, he would make a great banjo player!
I saw a rhythm guitarist play a 2 hour set with one chord. That one bar chord went up & down the neck but I never saw his fingers move. I wasn't near but it looked like he was using an F major & maybe lifted his middle finger for F minor.
Several years ago, bought a CD to honor Mr. Fender.. Lot of great musicians playing songs, including Keith.. Without Mr. Fender all of them would be something but not guitar players... One of this days tould to some friends that never liked The Edge very much... "Undreds" of pedals surrounding him... He doesn't know play normally.. Nothing against U2, good bass and drums, and great band. But never liked to much.. In UA-cam on a vídeo " Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White Kashmir" Page is a completely master with is simple and tunning guitar, making the great chords and no pedal at all...
Leo fender is an icon in the Guitar Building world. But to suggest that guitar players wouldn't exist without a Leo Fender guitar? Acoustic Six Strings have been around long before electric guitars. And if I'm not mistaken Rickenbacker was the first to actually make an electric guitar. Just saying
Yep lay down something solid that touches the heart... that goes for any instrument. How many great players out there that just cannot lay down the basics??? Loads.
Soo stupid off saying that itts riff and what he play interact with the music itts impotrtant and plays with emotion fantastic songwriter and guitar player that lasted soo long done soo many great songs nobody can come close too that only chuck berry
Keith Richards has been touching my heart ever since the first time I heard the Rolling Stones when I was 14 years old in 1964
"I just wanna lay down something solid that touches the heart".
God bless him for doing so!!!
This man is so extremely intelligent, introspective and so completely cool. He’s touched my heart...
I like old guy Keith a lot. Nice and humble for such a big rock star. Great video, glad I watched. Thank you!
I love this man. It's ironic how he's admittedly not an effects pedal kind of guitarist - but with "Satisfaction" he's pretty much single-handedly responsible for the fuzz-tone craze that continues with all kinds of effects pedals to this day.
He’s such a humble soulful funny and wise gentlemen. Cool guitar player and songwriter too. In fact the coolest that’s ever been. To me anyway.
When we lose Keith,,it will be the darkest day in rock history... although,,, he'll probably outlive most of us..A true Rock Legend.
already did
Hell mourn us all when we're gone
I'm ten years younger than him. I sure hope he outlives me.
NOOOOO.Don't even think it. Same with Paul McCartney.
Been laying down more than so many something solid and memorable for decades.
Keith Richards is literally the coolest person on the planet
Ray Charles, Johnny Cash and Kieth Richards were tied for "coolest person" but Kieth is the only one left.
If he was literally the coolest person on the planet he would have lower body temperature then the rest of us, and that would be a severe medical condition. Please learn the proper use of the word 'literally', or just stop using it entirely.
But not the "best guitar player"
Keith richards cant play the guitar literally at all
@@gorrinic Really?
The centuries have been good to old Keith.
Keith Richards... you have touched lives!
He's right. And he sounds better than anyone else.
floor pedals......"the idea of dancing around & poking buttons, gets in the way of what I'm doing"....you go KR.
Coming from the guy who revolutionized the use of floor pedals by using a fuzz-tone on Satisfaction. haha
you just gotta love the guy
what a cool, humble dude.......would love to have a pint with him...
Me too !!!!!!!
Pocas veces lo escuche habalr asi de su forma de tocar y de su relacion con la guitarra. Que buen material, gracias.
Could have watched this for hours

Rock on Keith. One of the best.

This man has more soul in that hat and fingernails than all the new stuff out there.
Rare video about Keef & his guitar's religion ❤️
We need to start worrying about what kind of world we are going to leave for Keith Richards
A god of rock 'n' roll/blues guitar! :)
Keef gets down to the nitty gritty of the essence of existence. Far out!
Someone once asked Keith Richards what would he be if he could be anything else other than himself. Keith replied, a Tyrannosaurus Rex twice as big as any other Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Thank you so much for sharing!!!
REspect for the human riff,a living rock music library
Keith is a Modern Minstrel. He carries his guitar from town to town - playing mostly for the average citizens.
I ask myself why Keith never talks about, that Brian Jones used open tunings right from the start.
Thanks for sharing! Great video! :)

Keef's "Moon" Les Paul Custom, Child of the Moon @ 1:45
Hey Keith!
I believe that Keith was the first British invasion guitarist to get a Epiphone casino. His was a '62.
Well Keith, you've been very successful at being lazy, so keep up the good work.
keith richards a true punk guitarist........yes i love him.
Human Riffman, blues man ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😉
OMG, is that the Sympathy for the Devil LP Custom in the back?
Not only in the back if you watch the whole thing!
I am the same. I hate pedals and buttons. I want a guitar plugged straight into an amp - you just cannot beat that raw sound.
Cool guy..
I totally agree with you !!!
All the British musicians seem to start in Art school.
Mick and keef baby
Fred Gerlach here: I always said Keith made Bob Dylon look and sound like Shirley Temple in drag.

This is video from a video.
What does he do with all those low E strings?
CUT IT OFF! Don't need it. Especially when they used 14 SVT's back in 69 @ MSG.
Ebay.

He's correct about 5 string!

I wish he would quit smoking.

Good morning showbizzzzzzz
How the hell has he made such a long career out of playing the guitar?
Well that’s simple. He loves what he’s doing so he never needs to go to work. That’s a life lesson for all of us!
A little thing called talent.
@@machinegunjackmcgurn7453 or lack thereof.
Probably the most famous and well paid marginal guitarists on the planet.

Stole the sound from Brian. So obvious.
