Terry just being a gentleman this time and lets Cecile to shine. Not so often when he does this. :-) And Cecile deserves this, she is an amazing dancer with a sensual, elegant and tender style.
Terry is an amazing dancer of course, incredibly talented. Like someone wrote, he doesn't follow the music, but the music follows him (I'm not talking about this video, he's pretty relaxed here). But he can be a total disaster like a partner. It's not like he doesn't care about a girl, it's even worse, every time he makes it a big challenge for a partner. It looks like he wants her to fail. :-) It's like, ok, girl, let's see how you can handle this, ok, you passed, but how about this?! Take it! He is mean. :-) I see it as a war with a girl. Well, that's his style. And Cecile's one of the few girls who can handle this beautifully and almost effortless. Another girl who amazed me even more was Denisse Cambria. She definitely won in this war. :-) Couldn't take off my eyes from her even when Terry tried to shine himself and to confuse her with his crazy and unpredictable tramp movements. :-) Proud of this girl too. :-)

They have been partner for a long time so I'm sure Cecile is already familiar with Terry's steps and I'm sure they practice it a lot.

At least you give him credit as an incredible dancer. But it is often a no-win for him. 99% of the followers can't keep up with him but they all still want to dance with him nonetheless. Then he has to keep holding back because if he tries to show what he can do the follows can't keep up. How does Terry improve or express himself? He has to put the moves out there and push the envelope with all the followers. And if the follow gets it, then great but if not, then so what? It's not a competition so every dance doesn't have to look perfect for you the spectator. The follower can learn from the dance experience with him and get better, as will many of those watching who would also learn. People should not take social dancing too seriously... especially when strangers are meeting for the first time and dancing....

Who says Terry was smooth in this vid, it is just Cecil is following smoothly. In this vid too Cecil's only weakness is revealed.. her lack of willingness of solo during social..except but turns..she needs her own voice too altho if it werenot for her, Terry would look messed up.

Luisa Allman I would agree. Just trying to look cool and effortless, but looks lazy and uninterested at times. No wiggle in the knees, no shoulder action. A real talent, but not inspiring for me like Johnny Vasquez is.
Better try Hustle in the 70's, he would be perfect.

CDAFishboy I like Johnny Vasquez as well but I feel like he dances too quick for it to be enjoyable. But he does have far better body movements than Terry

How many of Terry's videos have you all seen? @CDAFishboy Seeking out a "wiggle in the knees" is such an unnecessary/contrived thing to look for in a dancer; that's more personal styling than an actual error in technique.
